Daily Mail attributes its findings to sources within US and allied intelligence communities. These sources claim that Epstein was used in a classic “honeytrap” operation—a method where individuals are lured into intimate encounters with planted agents, with interactions secretly recorded for blackmail.

The materials obtained were allegedly funneled to Russian intelligence agencies.
