Senior MP reveals Russia’s strategy for strikes on Kiev

Secure underground bunkers used by Ukrainian military commanders and leadership are the top targets, Andrey Kartapolov has said

Published 26 May, 2026 19:38 |

TheRussian military will begin targeting bunkers used by Ukrainian military commanders and leadershipin response to Kiev’s continued terrorist attacks on civilians, senior MP Andrey Kartapolov says. Ukraine’s parliament –the Verkhovnaya Rada – and Vladimir Zelensky’s office are not on the target list, he told Parliamentskaya Gazeta on Tuesday.

In the wake of the deadly Ukrainian drone attack on a college in the Lugansk People’s Republic,Moscow announced a new strategy, pledging to systematically hit assorted targets across the Ukrainian capital in retaliation. The strike killed at least 21 people, mostly teenage girls sleeping in a dormitory,in what the Russian Foreign Ministry characterized as the manifestation of “the Nazi and terrorist nature of the Kiev regime.”

Russia’s “patience has run out,” Kartapolov said, commenting on the tragedy. Kiev’s tactics have spiraled into “blatant terrorism against our civilians,” the head of the State Duma Defense Committee stated, adding that Moscow would now abandon its self-imposed commitment not to target Ukraine’s capital.

When asked about potential targets, the lawmaker stated that neither the Verkhovnaya Rada building nor Zelensky’s office counts as a “decision-making center.”Ukrainian MPs do not control the troops, and Zelensky himself does not even visit his office any longer, the MP stated.

Decision-making centers [are] underground fortified [military] command and control centers,” as well as bunkers used by the Ukrainian security services and leadership, said Kartapolov, himself a retired colonel general and former deputy defense minister.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry urged foreigners to leave the Ukrainian capital andwarned locals to stay away from military, industrial, and government sites. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed the issue with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio as well.

The EU has openly dismissed the warnings, accusing Moscow of “unacceptable escalation.” The bloc’s foreign policy spokeswoman, Anitta Hipper, said on X on Tuesday that Brussels summoned the Russian Charge d’Affairs over the ministry’s call and stated that “the EU delegation stays in Kiev.”

The Russian militarymaintains that it never targets purely civilian sites in Ukraine and focuses on military or dual-use installations.

(Russia has been warning for day, so they stated publicly numerous times telling the EU Kiev and Ukraine military sites are the targets. The stupid thing is the EU do not take their statements seriously. How those supposed diplomats think Russia will not honor their dead youth by Zelensky orders, are bizarre. The EU cannot ever say they were warned many times.)

Canadian PM warns oil-rich province against Brexit-style split

(The British Crown is using one of most inept bankers they have, Carney can never make it right!)

Alberta plans a public vote this year amid growing tensions with Ottawa over energy and federal policy

Published 27 May, 2026 02:12 | Updated

(The Trucker fiasco and persecution alienated a large portion of all of Canada, not just Ottawa! Canada patriots Revolt!)

Calls for separation in Canada’s oil-rich province of Alberta have invited comparisons with Brexit from Prime Minister Mark Carney, who warned against the move and described it as a “dangerous bluff.”

The western province is set to hold a publicvote in October on whether to remain part of Canada or move toward a formal referendum on independence. The vote, announced by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith last week, follows a petition drive by the pro-independence group Stay Free Alberta, which submitted more than 300,000 signatures calling for a referendum on separation.

Commenting on the developments, Carney told reporters on Monday that Canada was “absolutelystronger together.” Referring to Smith’s plan, he described the move as a “very dangerous bluff,” drawing parallels with Britain’s 2016 vote to leave the EU. (When you need to use words like “absolutely” is a lie and rhetoric, to twist the people even more, why not say we are stronger together. Its a high indication he is lying.)

“I saw first-hand what happened in the United Kingdom when the view was, vote for this, it’ll be soft, and then we’ll negotiate,” said Carney, who served as governor of the Bank of England during the Brexit campaign. “They’re still 10 years later trying to undo what people didn’t think they were voting for but what they ended up having,” he added.

While Smith has said she supports a “united Canada,” she has defended the vote as a way for Albertans to express their views on the province’s future.

Alberta is one of Canada’s most important energy-producing regions and has long been at odds with the federal government over environmental regulations, taxation, and pipeline access.Separatist sentiment has been fueled by claims that Ottawa has held back the province’s resource economy, though polling suggests full independence remains a minority position.

Carney has sought to improve relations with Alberta by backing new energy infrastructure projects, including an agreement signed with Smith’s government earlier this monththat could pave the way for a new oil pipeline linking the province to Canada’s Pacific coast.

The agreement has drawn criticism from officials in the neighboring province of British Columbia, aswell as indigenous groups and environmental activists, who have accused Carney of abandoning his climate commitments.

The Alberta debate also comes as Canada remains locked in a trade dispute with the US following Donald Trump’s return to office in January. Canada has faced sweeping US tariffs on its goods, while Trump has repeatedly referred to the country as “the 51st state.” Carney has previously warned Washington against interfering in Canada’s affairs, including discussions around Alberta’s future.

‘Child migrants’ arriving in UK revealed to be adults – Sun

The recent case in Kent highlights agrowing trend of asylum seekers lying about their age

Published 26 May, 2026 22:17

Ten of the 19 migrants slated to be placed in foster homes or children’s care in Kent, England, turned out to be adults, The Sun reported on Monday.

Kent is the primary arrival point for migrants crossing the English Channel in small boats. Illegal crossings remain a hot-button issue, fueling anti-immigrant sentiment alongside a string of high-profile criminal cases linked to migrants.Nearly 1,000 undocumented migrants crossed into the UK in small boats over the past five days alone, according to government data.

A group of migrants in Kent County Council care was reassessed last year after staff raised concerns about their age, The Sun reported, citing government data released under freedom of information laws.

“This puts children already in foster or children’s homes in danger,” Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said. “We haveseen absurd caseswhere illegal immigrants, including aSudanese man with a receding hairline and facial hair, pretended to be children when they were clearly adults.”

The situation will “get worse now Labour’s Borders Act has passed, which no longer allows illegal immigrants to be treated as over-18 if they refuse to take an age-assessment test,” Philp added.

The Labour Party has lost significant ground to the Euroskeptic and anti-immigration Reform UK party in recent local and parliamentary elections. The government has tried several methods to tackle migration, including a plan championed by the Conservatives to relocate illegal migrants and asylum seekers to Rwanda, which was scrapped after Labour came to power in 2024.

The number of adult migrants posing as children has quadrupled over the past decade, reaching more than 1,000 last year, the Daily Mail reported, citing Home Office data.

In 2022, the government pledged to improve methods for assessing the age of asylum seekers, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRI imaging. Last year, the BBC reported that authorities were planning to use AI technology to verify migrants’ ages.

US plans to slash NATO contributions – Spiegel

Washington will reportedly make fewer jets, warships, and drones available to the bloc’s European members

Published 26 May, 2026 14:57 |

The US has told NATO’s European members that it will reduce its military contributions to the blocas Washington’s military planners set their sights on China, Der Spiegel reported on Tuesday.

Delivered by senior Pentagon adviser Alexander Velez-Greenat a confidential NATO meeting in Brussels last week, the message from Washington marks the latest step in US PresidentDonald Trump’s slow disengagement from Europe.

Trump has reportedly drawn up a “naughty and nice” list of NATO members based on their support for his policies, and earlier this month announced that he would withdraw 5,000 US troops from Germany.

According to Der Spiegel,Velez-Green told NATO members that the US will drastically reduce its commitments to the ‘NATO Force Model’ – the contingent of troops and equipment that the bloc can deploy on short notice.

The US will cut the number of fighter jets available to NATO by a third, andsignificantly reduce the number of strategic bombers and warships, the newspaper reported.NATO will also receive no American submarines or drones, leaving its European members to provide this hardware themselves, Velez-Green reportedly said.

It is unclear how many – if any – US troops will be pulledfrom the NATO Force Model.

The announcement reportedly shocked the Europeans at the meeting, who had predicted more minor and gradual cuts. Now, Der Spiegel claimed, the US expects them to have a plan in place to fill the gap before the bloc’s annual summit in Türkiye this July.

However, the move comes amid a broader scaling back of the US military presence in Europe, where more than 80,000 US troops were stationed in 2025. The US has maintained a permanent presence there since the end of World War II, but Pentagon sources told Der Spiegel thatthey want to scale this presence back in preparation for a potential conflictwith China in the Indo-Pacific region.

At a meeting in Sweden last week, US Secretary of State MarcoRubio told NATO foreign ministers that “there are going to be eventually less US troops in Europethan there have historically been.

We have obligations in the Indo-Pacific; we have obligations in the Middle East; we have obligations in the Western Hemisphere,” Rubio told reporters, adding that the US wants to position its forces to fight “a two-front conflict” if necessary.

WhileRubio maintained that “these are not political decisions,” Trump has explicitly politicized the deployment of US troops in Europe. After pulling American service members from Germany amid a spat with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the US president announced that he would send an additional 5,000 troops to Poland, “based on the successful election” of conservative President Karol Nawrocki.

https://www.rt.com/news/640604-trump-cut-back-nato/

(This is bizarre because Trump complained at NATO’s last year’s meeting the countries had to up the contributions because the U.S. pays for more than 1/2 of all of them. The countries got snotty and some didn’t change, then the meeting in Sweden or wherever, they criticised Trump greatly, then when for the first time we needed NATO’s help in Iran, they refused. Now they have a few ships over in the straight and really doing nothing. The problem they have, they really don’t listen to Trump, if he says it he’s going to do it. Very few allies would back the U.S. except Poland.)

Czech ‘ammo coalition’ for Ukraine loses support

Prague’s initiative to arm Kiev has fallen short of its targets and lost half of its Western backers

Published 26 May, 2026 16:23 |

Nine countries have withdrawn from a Czech initiativeaimed at jointly procuring artillery ammunition for Ukraine, according to Czech President Petr Pavel. The scheme has been plagued by underinvestment since its inception.

Some 18 countries, including Canada, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands, signed up to partake in the initiative when it was announced by Pavel in 2024. At the time, Western manufacturers were unable to meet Kiev’s appetite for ammunition, producing 1.3 million shells in a year, while Russia was able to make 4.5 million at a quarter of the cost.

“The initiative isstill working, but the new difficulty is that only about nine member states are contributing financially,” Pavel told the Financial Times on Tuesday. “This initiative has been delivering up to 50% of all large caliber ammunition to the Ukrainians, so in this sense it cannot be replaced easily by anything else.”

Although the initiative has managed to source around four million pieces of artillery ammunition for Kiev,it has fallen dramatically short of its targets. As of February, it has raised €1.4 billion ($1.62 billion) to purchase ammo, less than a third of the €5 billion Pavel had hoped to raise, NATO officials told Reuters.

Pavel refused to say which countries had pulled out of the initiative, although an unnamed Western military official told the Financial Times that Germany and some Nordic nations were among those still participating.

Ukraine has faced a shortage of artillery shells since early 2022, with Russian gun crews carrying out as many as five times more fire missions than their Ukrainian counterparts, andUkraine’s then-Defense Minister Rustem Umerov pleading for supplies to alleviate the “shell hunger” in early 2024. The Czech initiative failed to even the score, and by the end of 2025, Ukrainian forces had replaced artillery with one-way attack drones in most battlefield situations, Russian military sources told RIA Novosti in November.

As the primacy of artillery declined on the battlefield, support for Ukraine declined in Prague. Since his election last year, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis has audited the ammo initiative, and cut all use of Czech funds for the program, which he said lacked transparency and funneled billions of dollars to unknown beneficiaries.

While Babis has kept the scheme running with Prague playing the role of non-contributing intermediary, “some countries now feel that it is strange to pay for something that is not even properly supportedby the ruling politicians of the lead country,” a Western official told the Financial Times.

(They never talk about Ukraine selling all the equipment to other countries and terrorists, in the first two years of the war)

Hon. Vickie Paladino

@VickieforNYC

Let's understand a few things about what's actually about to happen here if Zohran gets his way – which he almost certainly will, unless courts intervene.

First and foremost, Cea Weaver and DSA 'organizers' will be unleashed with the full institutional and legal support of the city government to ramp up tenant complaints in targeted buildings. No complaint will be too small. No building will be too small. Everything will be treated as catastrophic. Full-scale demagoguery will ensue, complete with protests, rent strikes, street theater, and harassment of property owners.

Accordingly, the city buildings department will be weaponized to begin writing as many violations as possible in order to bolster the city's effort to justify a seizure. It won't matter how small or large the violations are, the total number will be breathlessly cited as evidence of mismanagement. It will be impossible for landlords to clear these violations in good faith.

The combination of a weaponized buildings department writing hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines, rent strikes, and constant threats and harassment against landlords by militant activists will make the situation untenable for any property owner to realistically fight back, and the city will seize the property. The landlord will be lucky to walk away without prison or being beaten to death in the street by an angry mob (as Zohran's buddy Hasan Piker referred to landlords – 'let the streets run red with their capitalist blood').

But that's only the first half of the plan, and everyone needs to pay very close attention to the big picture here, because it's hugely important and has national implications.

The properties will then be turned over to nonprofits. This is no small detail. This is in fact the whole point.

The idea here is to build up Zohran's DSA-connected nonprofits with a multbillion-dollar portfolio of hard assets – New York City real estate. This portfolio could theoretically reach into the hundreds of billions or even the trillions, depending on how aggressive they get.

Now these highly political nonprofits would become the new land barons of New York, complete with all the political clout, leverage, and reach that goes along with it. It would be a true nightmare scenario.

As it stands now, the nonprofits depend mostly on the largesse of grants, donations, and other third-party resources to stay afloat. They are lavishly funded of course, and many do hold significant assets, but it would all pale in comparison to simply handing them the keys to a New York City real estate empire, courtesy of Zohran Mamdani and the DSA.

The resources at their disposal would be immense. The organizing potential that goes along with those resources will have national implications. Every DSA candidate in every town and city in the country would be trained, funded, and staffed by organizers with ties to the NYC nonprofit empire backed by a trillion dollars in free real estate. And they would be shameless in leveraging those resources for pure political power.

That's the game plan here. That's the whole ball of wax.

Zohran isn't interested in making housing better for anyone. If he was, we'd be talking seriously about solving the NYCHA disaster.

Hell, if he was even remotely sincere about seizing these properties from 'bad landlords' for the 'public good' he'd be focused on turning them over to the city itself, as misguided as that would be.

No, this is about nothing more than consolidating political power for the DSA. Just like everything else these people do. Giving the DSA a massive war chest backed by seized real estate.

Once you understand that they have no interest in fixing anything other than elections, it all makes a lot more sense.
