Why do you assume all slave owners were beating their slaves? I've never understood that. Does every pet owner beat their pet? Both are considered "property" that is owned, but not all are beaten.
I never condoned slavery. Owning another person is wrong. That said… why do you believe everyone who owned another person beat that person?

Capitalism, Communism, Socialism… all suffer the same problems.
Remember what I said about putting money above all else… and how Jesus said you can't serve both God and money?
Making a system around the money is serving the money, not the people. We are FREE… that means some are free to be greedy, and some are free to be lazy. You can't make a system to get around peoples free choice.
As He said… the poor you will always have with you, and YOU can help them anytime you want.

Well in a perfect world… no one would "wilt" to harm another. Good idea… but in the present day it doesn't happen. Maybe one day… but some try to force that day, or "cut the days short" by taking freedom… ie LAW.
