I think it's an act of trying to better not only their personal being, by becoming fully enlightened just through sheer osmosis of being next to a Canadian, but also trying to better their surrounding current American genetic stock. By introducing Canadians to your population you slowly reduce all the anger, hatred and rage and turn your country into something beautiful.
