The harsh punishment was because it was done to a tourist. Apparently, Pakistani women are sexually assaulted regularly with little consequence.

The cop in this case showed the more typical reaction: not calling to hang the perps, but blaming the victim instead.

The day after the attack, a senior police official in Lahore, Umer Sheikh, appeared in front of the media and implied the woman was partly to blame.

He questioned why she had not taken a busier road, given that she was alone with her young children.

His remarks prompted a widespread reaction on social media, with Pakistanis calling him out for victim-blaming.

The decision to maintain the death penalty comes after human rights activists urged the government to introduce harsher penalties for rapists.

Although sexual abuse against Pakistani women is common, such crimes against foreigners are rare.

The sheer depravity. Imagine what those children experienced: the terrified mother, the breaking of the car glass, her being pulled out, likely screaming, then seeing what those 2 men did to her, mercilessly, then seeing her in the aftermath, their protector in shock and pain, their car glass shattered in a foregn land, and the sights, sounds, smells, then police presence, the doctors. Scarring. The inhumane offenders likely witnessed similar things as children (as well as perhaps had horrific things done to them against their will). But that is no excuse to perpetrate on someone else. In front of children, no less.

The Pakistani women and children deserve protection, too. Not just the tourists! You create a no consequence, free-for-all, take what you want, kind of society (like the socialists are trying to do to us through facilitating an invasion of cultures of opportunists with no consequence and in fact are paying the thugs to riot and injure people, police, ICE, BP, and burn and break things… ) and allow it to go on unchecked…

Well… they've had their fun. At the expense of many. Time for their consequences. A society without consequences - like the one in the article - until they did their every day thing to a tourist - is a dangerous one.

Thank God for the patriots doing yeoman's work correcting the course of this ship. "It's a Republic, if you can keep it," Franklin said.

And we are… keeping it! At least doing the work to keep it.

Many generations to come will need to vigilently guard and maintain the corrected course, and will be forever in the debt of those here and around the world who see what needs to be done and step up to do it.
