The gospel of absolute equality has been a failing point ever since Akhnaton introduced it (at least). The reality is that even if everyone shares an inherent equality, their position within the world edifice is not equal, and failure to recognize this truth is always disastrous. There is no compassion in subjecting children equally to the world's troubles, as we do adults, such as we do with the current structure of the Internet.
It's part of the process, sadly. Learning to cope with the noise and rise above the discord is a critical step in becoming what the world needs us to become.
