I hear you, but let me put it in the plainest of terms. There are those that hearken immediately in order to save lives, and then there is the rest of them. Even though they may fight at a later date or even within a reasonable time, they do not take into consideration the welfare of humanity when it is critical to do so. They have values that supersede life in itself.
