Exclusive — Hans Von Spakovsky: California Has ‘Worst Election System of Any State in the Country’

Hannah Knudsen8 Jun 2026

California probably has the “worst election system of any state in the country,” Hans Von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow at Advancing American Freedom, explained during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily.

“I have to tell you, they’ve probably got the worst election system of any state in the country. It’s as if they set out to design it so that it would be easy to cheat and easy to steal elections,” he said, noting that the Golden State has banned voter ID while they “mail ballots to every single registered voter in the state.”

“They don’t do anything, I mean, hardly anything to clean up their voter rolls. So, like, in Los Angeles, you talk to anybody who lives there, and they will tell you if they live in condos and apartments, they’re probably receiving or have received ballots in the mail for people who don’t live there,” he said, highlighting the magnitude of this issue, surmising that some individuals receive multiple ballots.

“People have testified to that. I mean, it’s just one thing after another like that,” he said, noting that it does not end there, as the state will count ballots that come in for seven days after Election Day, with a 22-day “cure period” for ballots with issues such as a missing signature. Even then, the so-called “fix” is lacking.

“They contact the voter and say, well, if you come in and fix this, we’ll count it… Plus, of course, they legalized what I call ballot trafficking. They like to call it vote harvesting, but basically they pay people to go to voters’ homes to collect their absentee ballots, which gives them the ability to pressure them to vote a particular way, or frankly, to fill out the ballots,” he said, emphasizing that there are easy workarounds to witness signatures as well.

There’s supposed to be a witness signature, but there’s no address given, and no election official anywhere in the state actually verifies the witness, so if you’re stealing an absentee ballot, if you’re signing it, and I swear to you, if you put Scooby Doo down as the witness, it’ll get through,” von Spakovsky said.

He added that there is supposed to be signature comparison as well, but because it is up to each county to do that, there is no uniform standard.

“The whole thing is, it’s just designed to fail,”he added.

Keir Starmer Demands Digital ID Tech so Invasive It Can Keep Minors from Taking Nude Photos. 1/2

The British government has announced plans to mandate tech giants like Apple and Google to implement age verification measures to prevent children from accessing pornography and even from taking photographs of themselves. Critics warn that the demands will result in the imposition of effective digital IDs on law-abiding adults.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said on Monday that his government will introduce legislation that will force tech companies to introduce “device-level controls to prevent children from taking, sharing or viewing nude images” within three months or face major fines or even potential criminal charges.

According to the BBC, Starmer has told some major tech firms that they could activate systems that are already built into their platforms to verify the age of users and thus prevent children from accessing or sending explicit material.

“This is not an impossible challenge. These are some of the most innovative companies in the world, and I believe they can solve it,” the prime minister said at a London Tech Week event.

However, civil liberties proponents have warned that such measures would likely require the collection of biometric data from law-abiding citizens to verify their age, which some fear could lay the groundwork for a digital ID system.

Silkie Carlo of the Big Brother Watch campaign group said on Monday: “Protecting children online is vital, but these are outrageous plans that will fail to address the underlying causes of online harm. This will only result in population-wide ID checks for all of us to use our phones, tablets and laptops.

“Put simply, the Labour Government is threatening ID checks for the internet. No one in a democracy should need to show their passport just to get online,” she warned.

Carlo said that those who refused to submit to identity checks would face having their internet access restricted with essentially child-locked devices, while children could still skirt the restrictions by simply using adult-registered devices.

In addition to implementing effective ID checks through age verification systems, the government is also looking to force companies to implement programmes that scan private messages for child abuse material, which the controversial Online Safety Bill empowers the broadcaster regulator Ofcom to demand of tech companies.

Yet, some tech companies have warned that demands from the British government would force them to break their own encryption systems, with messaging platforms like Signal saying they would rather leave the UK market entirely than put their users’ privacy at risk.

“The history of digital technology is littered with the magical thinking of governments that have tried and failed to create backdoors that can only be accessed by ‘the good guys’ while remaining secure against threats from ‘everyone else’.

These efforts have failed because what they’re attempting is impossible,” the company previously noted.

Big Brother Watch’s Silkie Carlo said: “The Government mandating that all phones in Britain require ID and surveillance software is a crossing of the Rubicon that would make the UK one of the most authoritarian internet regimes in the world. This extreme technological censorship requires rigorous public and parliamentary scrutiny that is currently totally missing.”

However, imposing new internet restrictions appears to be a key aim of the Labour Party while it remains in power. Indeed, former Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls, Jess Phillips, cited failure on the front as a chief reason for her resignation last month, saying that because Labour governments “come around rarely”, the government should seize upon this “rare opportunity with the gusto” rather than “waiting around for a crisis to push for faster progress.”

Shortly after Phillips’ resignation, Prime Minister Starmer announced plans for his government to introduce national digital IDs, a longtime aim of previous Labour Prime Minister Sir Tony Blair, which was shelved following the 2010 general election amid national pushback against what was seen as an authoritarian and simply un-British idea.

==It remains to be seen if Starmer will be able to cling onto power long enough to actually implement such a system, with the PM facing the prospect of a leadership challenge in the coming weeks.

Regardless, Reform UK boss Nigel Farage has vowed to overturn any digital ID system if given power at the next general election.==

However, the Labour Party seems to be rallying around the cause, with Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood issuing a forceful statement on Monday defending the government’s plans, saying:“I make no apologies for doing the right thing to protect children from paedophiles. This is about stopping the coercion and sextortion of children, not surveilling or policing people’s phones.

“This technology is already on devices. The tech firms just need to switch it on to block children from seeing nude imagery.”

Even those on the left vying to replace the current government appear set to double down on censorship, with Lucy Powell, a top ally of Labour leadership hopeful Andy Burnham, reportedly saying over the weekend that the government should seek to regulate social media algorithms, which she said have fostered “echo chambers” and “rabbit holes” for young people and adults alike which presumably do not fit in line with the left-liberal narrative preferred by the London political establishement.

(If they really want to protect children, keep Starmer and his friends away from them!)

Report — New Jersey Republicans Find Hundreds of Noncitizens on Voter Rolls: ‘It’s Really Eye-Opening’

June 8, 2026.1/2

Republican leaders in New Jersey havereportedly found hundreds of noncitizens listed on voter rolls, and some of themhad a voting record.

The New Jersey Republican Party (NJGOP) and the Republican National Committee (RNC)uncovered the information when they asked for the voter rolls from all 21 counties, Fox News reportedMonday.

Those individuals werereportedly seeking naturalization and wanted their names removed. Many of them wereregistered as Democrats but claimed they did not know they had been registeredandwere concerned it might disqualify them from becoming citizens.

The news came after New Jersey GOP Chairwoman Christine Giordano Hanlon said in May thestate party was launching an Election Integrity Task Force, the New Jersey Globe reported at the time.

“Like many New Jerseyans, election integrity is of utmost importance to me. All Americans want free, fair, and secure elections and a system that maintains the public trust. The NJGOP Election Integrity Task Force will work to help ensure that New Jersey’s elections are securely and fairly administeredand help safeguard the integrity of the process,” Hanlon said.

Per the Fox article, some of thenoncitizens had voting records. One who was removed in 2015 voted in 2000, 2001, and the 2008 general election.

RNC Chairman JoeGruters says the group found hundreds of noncitizen registrants in New Jersey who are likely only the tip of the iceberg, but that New Jersey and other Democrat-run statesare unwilling to disclose information about their voter registration list maintenance processes. The organization has requested that information from 48 states.

“I mean, it’s really incredible because here theDemocrats are sayingthat, you know, noncitizens never vote, this is a non-issue, but every county we’re finding people that are self-reporting now, and I’m glad we’re doing these records request because it’s reallyeye-opening, because this is just the people that have self-reported,” Gruters told Fox News Digital.

He added, “You want a democracy that’s secure and elections that are free and safe and that people can depend upon, and people have full confidence in.”

In 2022, a review of data by the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF)found almost 2,400 registrants listed on New Jersey’s voter rolls were 105 years old or older, Breitbart News reported at the time.

The Fox report came asPresident Donald Trump has been urging lawmakers to pass the SAVE America Actthat would require proof of citizenship when registering to vote, according to Breitbart News.

“The Save Act has support from 91 percent of Republicans, 50 percent of Democrats, and 69 percent of independents,” the outlet said in March.

Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) saidrecentlyit was “embarrassing” that Congress has been unable to pass the actwhile comparing the United States’system to Colombia’s.

“It’s kind of embarrassing from the perspective of Congress, that we can’t even pass a SAVE America Act.Let me lay out how Colombian elections are run. First of all, no mail-in balloting.Single day election, you have tohave your proof of national citizenshipwith you to vote. So, it’s not only voter ID, but 100 percent strict proof of citizenship. If you don’t have it with you, they don’t even let you into the hall where you vote,” Moreno said.“All paper ballots, the ballots are counted by hand, and the results are delivered after an hour and a half, after polls close. They have election watchers there that are vigilant, they have judges there that are disputing any claims that are made.”

Stephen A. Smith Blasts Trump for Attending Game 3 of the NBA Finals: ‘He Has No Business Showing Up’

Warner Todd Huston8 Jun 2026

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith went on a tirade against President Donald Trump on Monday and said that the Commander-in-Chief has “no business showing up” to Game 3 of the NBA Finals in New York City.

Smith delivered his broadside on Monday morning’s edition of ESPN’s First Take, during which the left-wing commentator called Trump a “narcissist” for wanting to attend the Game 3 trialbetween the Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs to be held at Madison Square Garden in the Big Apple.

He prefaced his comments by saying that he doesn’t like the president’s attendance at the game at all, but claimed he is approaching the topic “on sports” rather than politics.

“This president has no business showing up in New York City. I am dead serious. It is selfish. It is narcissistic. It is ridiculous that he is coming to this game,” Smith blasted.

What set Smith off was the traffic situation.

“Do you have any idea what the congestion is gonna be like in New York City here?” he noted, because of the security and road closures a president requires for travel.

Smith also slammed Trump’s Game 3 attendance on his radio show.

“He’s coming to Game 3 of the NBA Finals, andI don’t want him there,” Smith said. “It has nothing to do with politics, policy, or anything like that. It has everything to do with him disrupting and contributingat the same time to the chaos that’s going to be existing at Madison Square Garden.”

The president, of course, has been a fan of the New York Knicks for decades, and he is also otherwise a big sports fan. As president, he has attended multiple games of pro and college football, MMA, and MLB games.

(To bad Stephen cry yourself to sleep)

Peru Presidential Election Too Close to Call as Slow Vote Count Continues. 1/2

Christian K. Caruzo8 Jun 2026

Preliminary results from Peru’s National Electoral Processes Office (ONPE)indicate that conservative former first lady Keiko Fujimori maintains a narrow lead against radical leftist candidate Roberto Helbert Sánchez Palomino in Sunday’s razor-thin presidential runoff election.

Sunday saw millions of Peruvians head to the polls to choose between Fujimori and Sánchez Palomino as the next president ofPeru — a country that has experienced back-to-back political crisesresulting in nine different presidents in about ten years.

The runoff election also follows anextremely convoluted first round held in April that featured 35 different candidateson the ballot. The April election was marred by logistical complications and anotoriously slow vote counting process that saw authorities take roughly a month to formally declare Fujimori and Sánchez Palomino the two candidatesof Sunday’s runoff.

At press time, the results remain uncertain, with a roughly 30,000 vote difference between Fujimori, representing the conservativePopular Force party, and Sánchez Palomino of the far-left Together for Peru coalition. The latest publicly available results published by ONPEindicate that, with 93 percent of votes counted as of Monday, June 8, at 8:38 a.m. (local time), Fujimori has 50.085 percentof the votes while Sánchez Palomino has 49.915 percent.

Omar Awapara, secretary-general of the non-governmental organization Transparencia, affirmed to the outlet RPP onSunday night that the race remains in a “statistical tie” — noting that, while a report issued by Transparencia alongside the polling firm Ipsos showed that Sánchez Palomino allegedly received 50.3 percent of the votes, an Ipsosexit poll indicated that Fujimori would end up receiving 50.7 percent.

“Technically, we’re talking about a tie. Mathematically, the results for both candidates are indistinguishable, just as the exit poll, which used a different methodology, also had a margin of error at the time,” Awapara said.

Speaking to her followers on Sunday night, Fujimori referred to Transparencia and Ipsos’s projections andsaid that it would be a “long wait” until the winner of the election is known, given the “technical tie” between her and her rival.

Fujimori urged her supporters to remain vigilant while the vote count is underway and assured them that she would accept the result once the official tally is complete. She also stressed the role that Popular Force representatives will carry out in the coming days to observe the vote count process.

“It would be irresponsible to determine the result based on a sample such as the quick count, which uses approximately 1,000 of the 90,000 ballots nationwide,” Fujimori stressed, per RPP.

Sánchez Palomino also addressed his followers shortly after Transparencia published its report. Speaking at Lima’s San Martin Square, he called upon his followers to “defend” his votes and electoral transparency.

He reportedly said:

Today, the exit polls show a significant lead that reaffirms the will of the people, who want democracy and justice; however, as is only right, this is the time to safeguard the vote and ensure electoral transparency, so that when the final election results are announced in the coming days, the electoral results can be officially declared.

According to local outlets Sunday’s runoff election, while extremely close and still uncertain as of Monday morning, did not experience the same logistical issues that plagued April’s first round, outside of isolated incidents. The Peruvian news outlet El Comercio observed that ONPE successfully deployed all electoral material in a timely and orderly manner, allowing for all voting centers to open their doors on time.

The end of ONPE’s vote count process, however, does not mark the end of Sunday’s runoff election process. While ONPE is the institution tasked with organizing elections in Peru, all vote technicalities and election-related disputes are handled by the National Election Jury (JNE). The Argentine outlet Infobae explained that, once ONPE finalizes counting 100 percent of the votes, Special Election Officials (JEE) will review the results and tallies before JNE issues a final proclamation and declares a winner. Based on thedeadlines and timetables established by Peruvian electoral law, the entire process must finish no latter than July 28, 2026, the day when the winner of the runoff is expected to take office.

Peru is currently led by Marxist interim President José María Balcázar, an 83-year-old pro-child-marriage lawmaker. Balcázar took office as interim president in mid-February after his predecessor, interim President José Jerí, was impeached on allegations related to a presumptive influence peddling scandal known as “Chifagate.” Jerí took office as interim president of Peru in 2025 following the impeachment of interim President Dina Boluarte. Boluarte was also not elected; she assumed the presidency in December 2022 after Marxist former President Pedro Castillo was impeached and arrested following an attempt to unconstitutionally dissolve Congress and stage a “self-coup.” Castillo was convicted in November to 11.5 years in prison.

At press time,no president in Peru has successfully completed his or her full term since leftist former President Ollanta Humala left office in 2016. Humala and his wife Nadine Heredia were sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in April 2025 on corruption charges.Depending on the final outcome of Sunday’s runoff, either Fujimori or Sánchez Palomino will become Peru’s tenth president in about as many years.

We thought we had messed up elections!
