Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after 'brutal' knife attack in Belfast

A man believed to be Sudanese has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a "brutal" knife attack in Belfast, police have said.

The man, in his 30s, remains in custody after the incident in north Belfast at about 22:30 BST on Monday. Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.

Police have said they recovered what they believe to be a kitchen knife at the scene.

Video circulating online shows a number of people, including one wielding a hurling stick, confronting the apparent attacker until the police arrived.

A man injured in the attack, aged in his 40s, is in hospital where his condition is described as serious.

Police said he had serious slash wounds to his back and face and had eye injuries as well.

Two possible reasons for this selloff.

THE FIRST REASON IS SPACEX.

SpaceX lists on June 12 at a $1.77 trillion valuation, raising $75 billion, the largest IPO in US history.

SpaceX allocated 30% of shares to retail investors, three times the industry norm.

Even then, most retail investors still did not get full allocation. To buy more SpaceX at open on Thursday, they are selling their existing positions today to raise cash.

And SpaceX does not enter the Nasdaq 100 on day one. It enters 15 trading days after listing, putting forced buying around early July.

Nasdaq changed its rules specifically for this IPO, cutting the waiting period from three months to 15 days.

When that happens, every QQQ fund must automatically buy SpaceX, an estimated $22 to $27 billion in forced mechanical buying. To make room, every existing Nasdaq 100 stock gets trimmed.

MSCI has also adopted early inclusion rules, adding trillions more in tracked assets that will be forced to buy SpaceX after listing.

Both retail and institutions are raising cash at the same time, retail to participate in the listing, institutions to prepare for the forced index buying in July.

That combined selling is what you are seeing right now.

The second reason is insider positioning ahead of major news.

When institutions sell this aggressively across every asset class at the same time, it often signals they know something the market does not yet.

The Sudanese man arrested for the attempted beheading was granted leave to remain in the UK by the Home Office, led by now-Reform MPs Braverman and Jenrick, on the 28th of September 2023.

On the 26th of October 2023, one month later, Jenrick formally answered a parliamentary question with the following statements…

"The UK has a proud history of supporting refugees."

"The UK is proud to have welcomed Sudanese nationals"

"we also welcome eligible Sudanese nationals through our refugee family reunion route."

This is what Reform's 'shadow chancellor' has said about welcoming unvetted Sudanese fighting age men.

It is scandalous.

I want to know exactly what Jenrick and Braverman knew about these Sudanese men they were allowing to stay in Britain.

What checks were made? Criminal records? Anything?

They were welcoming young men from a brutally backward country that has an entirely alien culture completely incompatible with our way of life.

Why let them in? Why do it? Why endanger British men and women? How many more did they let in?

I am putting a number of formal questions/FOIs to the Home Office to obtain that information.

Jenrick and Braverman were responsible for our borders, they held the power - they let this man in, and then handed him a visa.

It is sickening.
