Speaking biblically, that's what the book says habbened, in that order.
It even says the edomites set themselves up as rulers and kings over Judah.
Even during Christs time, both King Herrods were described
as Idumean Edomites.
When Jesus spoke he made clear distinctions between jews and judeans.
Consider the word jew purposely conflated with the word judean, and then jesus saying would become,
Those who say they are Judean but do lie.
That makes a lot more sense than jews who say they're jews but do lie.
But Jew, invaders, claiming status as Judeans, and rulers and kings over Judean people and lands,
that makes Jesus statement in perfect perspective of the era's political situation.
Jesus, from the bloodline of King David, was the natural heir to the throne of Judah,
and therefore Solomons Temple is His Fathers House.
Yes, Judah as you'd be aware contained two of the tribes, being Judah and Benjamin, with some Levites, is the description.
As for the 10 so called missing tribes from the north,
they were invaded and occupied by Assyrians, they eventually interbred with their captors.
To my calculations they were the biblical Samaritans.
I think it was the Persians who controlled most of that land during Christs time.
The Pharisees accused Jesus of being a Samaritan, I assume because Levites were part of the 10 Tribes.
