Trump formally nominates his former personal lawyer Todd Blanche to serve as attorney general

Story by Kit Maher, Sarah Ferris, CNN • 2d. (CNN didn’t get their kill shot)

President Donald Trump has formally tappedacting Attorney General Todd Blanche to take on the top law enforcement job on a more permanent basis, sending his nomination to the Senate on Monday.

Blanche – formerly one of Trump’s personal lawyers – would succeed Pam Bondi, who was fired in April.

The formal nomination now tees up the Senate confirmation process. Blanche will need just a majority vote to get confirmed, though his role in handling the Jeffrey Epstein files and in the attempt to create a controversial $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund to benefit Trump’s allies could complicate the vote.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley indicated he will support Blanche and move quickly on the nomination.

“Blanche is well-qualified and has shown his dedication to restoring law and order across our country. The Senate Judiciary Committee’s work to process Blanche’s nomination is underway,” Grassley said in a statement.

But just how quickly Blanche’s nomination could advance remains in question. Asked Monday how swiftly he could move the nomination through his committee, Grassley wouldn’t say.

Sen. John Cornyn, a member of the committee, indicated to CNN that he plans to ask Blanche questions about the “anti-weaponization” fund.

“I have a lot of questions, including that,” Cornyn said when asked if he wanted to hear more specifically about Blanche’s role in the fund.

GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana – whose recent primary defeat has led him to become one of the most critical Republican voices on Trump’s recent push for the DOJ fund – is signaling that he still has major issues with Blanche.

Asked repeatedly on Monday night whether he could support Blanche, the senator offered the same line: “I have to be convinced that Todd is not the president’s personal attorney who happens to be attorney general – but that Todd is attorney general who used to be the president’s personal attorney.”

Asked by CNN about Trump’s recent remarks reiterating his support for that fund - despite Blanche’s own insistence that the fund is dead – Cassidy said: “Of course, that’s concerning.”

Cassidy said “we shall see” when asked what he could do to rein in the White House on the matter.

Active as acting AG

Serving as acting attorney general, Blanche has secured indictments against some of Trump’s personal foes like former FBI Director James Comey, rolled back gun control measures and issued subpoenas to journalists for their sources. He’s also announced sweeping fraud initiatives across the country, which work hand-in-hand with the White House’s “war on fraud.”

But critics, citing those same efforts, say that Blanche has effectuated the president’s personal and political agenda to use the Justice Department as his own attack mechanism.

The nomination comes in amid pushback against Trump and Blanche over the proposed $1.776 billion “anti-weaponization” fund to compensate people who say they were wrongly prosecuted by the government. The fund was initially announced as part of a settlement between the Internal Revenue Service and the president, his adult sons and the Trump Organization.

Republicans on Capitol Hill revolted over the fund — with many especially anxious over the potential for January 6, 2021, rioters to get payouts.

Blanche essentially had to disavow the idea last week, and the Justice Department told two federal judges the plan is dead. However, several lawsuits are ongoing against the settlement.

Blanche, for his part, has vociferously stated his desire for the job and his support for the president. In a press conference just after he was appointed acting attorney general, Blanche told reporters that working for Trump is “the greatest honor of a lifetime.”

“If he chooses to nominate somebody else and asks me to go do something else, I will say: ‘Thank you very much, I love you, sir,’” he said. (I’d do the same)

Spoke with President Trump tonight as he oversaw the U.S. military strikes against Iran from the Situation Room.

The President told me he spoke directly with Iranian officials tonight who asked him to stop bombing.

49 Tomahawk missiles had been fired by the United States at g with bombing from fighter jets.Closest target to Tehran was approximately 40 miles outside of the city.

Trump added that the bombing will stop shortly, but that if they don't sign the agreement, "we'll bomb the shit out of them."

President Trump called this "the most violated ceasefire in the history of the world."

Vice President JD Vance told methe United States is dealing with both moderate and more extreme voices in Iran as part of the negotiation process.

More updates to follow on @FoxNews.

(Trump started calling Trey personally when the Iran war started because he was the honest reporter on the ground. He didn’t call other Fox personalities. Trey has been reporting on Israel for years)

Postal Service won’t deliver mail ballots for states that don’t hand over voter lists, under plan for Trump directive

State election officials could soon face a stark choice: Hand over voter lists to the Trump administration or risk losing Postal Service delivery for mail-in ballots.

That dilemma stems from newly proposed USPS rules that seek to comply with an executive order President Donald Trump signed this spring to crack down on mail-in voting. If courts let the order stand, it would give the federal government an unprecedented role in elections — and could put even more voter data in the hands of Trump officials searching for supposed election fraud.

The proposed rules lay out new conditions that states would have to meet to send ballots through the mail, including giving the agency lists of all voters set to receive mail ballots.

So far, 23 Democratic-led states and the District of Columbia are suing, as are Democratic Party leaders and non-partisan voter advocacy groups, setting up a potentially active summer of high-stakes judicial rulings.

The Trump administration cleared an initial legal hurdle last month, when a federal judge in Washington, DC, who is overseeing one set of the cases, declined to block Trump’s executive order, allowing the Postal Service to begin implementing it.

The Democratic Party groups are asking an appeals court to speed up its review of that decision, warning that voters around the country could be disenfranchised in this year’s midterm elections if the proposal is not blocked.

In an interview with CNN, Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, a Democrat whose state is part of the coalition that filed a legal challenge in Boston, said that if courts rule for the Trump administration, “Then you will see a virtual elimination of mail-in voting, unless the states supply voter lists to the federal government.”

The March 2026 executive order is one of several moves Trump has made recently to seek federal control over elections and restrict mail-in voting, which he has repeatedly cast as a tool used by his opponents for election cheating despite no evidence of widespread voter fraud.

On Capitol Hill, the SAVE Act, a Trump-backed bill requiring new citizenship verification measures to register to vote, has floundered in the Senate. Courts have pushed back on other aggressive attempts by the administration to inject itself in the voting process — a job the Constitution largely gives to the states.

But now Trump’s executive order seeks to give USPS an unprecedented role in the midterm elections: not just delivering ballots but policing who gets one.

“If proper postage is paid on a mail piece, the USPS should deliver it,” former USPS Board of Governors Vice Chair Anton Hajjar told CNN. “The proposed rule says it’s not regulating elections but that’s what, in effect, it’s doing,”

In a statement, the White House said that the “entire Trump Administration will continue lawfully enacting the agenda President Trump was elected to enact – which includes the safety and security of American elections.”

“The Administration remains confident that the Executive Order will be implemented by the November election, which was always the intent when it was signed,” White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said.

Unprecedented role for USPS

While the language the Postal Service drafted still leaves states in charge of deciding which voters end up on the lists submitted to the agency, it tells USPS not to send ballots for states that don’t follow that process. The states’ mail balloting programs must meet other requirements in Trump’s order for USPS to deliver their ballots, potentially forcing some jurisdictions to completely redesign their mail voting materials.

“This would deny eligible people the right to vote. Full stop,” said Tobias Read, secretary of state in Oregon, one of the 23 states suing the administration over the order.

“This is not in the president’s power,” Read said. “It’s absolutely clear in the Constitution – states run elections.”

As the legal fight unfolds, Postal Service unions have communicated their concerns to USPS leadership about the order – and how it puts mail carriers in the position of deciding whether to transmit certain ballots.

“As we read this draft, if a state does not comply with it, if they don’t provide the information or the right format, then the Postal Service is going to simply refuse all of those ballots or whatever election mail it is, and that is very, very concerning,” said Brian Renfroe, president of the National Association of Letter Carriers.…. President Trump Navigates Speaker Mike Johnson on FISA Reauthorization

June 10, 2026 | Sundance |

In the bigger picture, it is very likely that congress will reauthorize FISA (702) surveillance because not doing so is against their interests. That reality creates an unusual dynamic where President Trump can leverage the inevitable outcome for his own political benefit.

PRESIDENT TRUMP – “Just like they did on Border Funding, the Radical Left Dumocrats are trying to take our National Security hostage because of unrelated issues. They should stop playing politics with the safety of our Great Country.

I have named WilliamPulte to be Acting Director of National Intelligence, who will take over on June 19th, and have asked him to execute the immediate and needed downsizing of the office, reverting staff to their home agencies. At the same time,I am looking for a permanent ODNI Nominee with experience in National Security.

FISA 702 is very important to our Military, and keeping the American People safe, especially during the World Cup and America250 Celebrations. If nothing is done, this important Law will expire this week. I am asking Congress to send me a short-term extension of FISA to provide timefor the selection and confirmation of a permanent Head of the Agency. I would like to thank Director Pulte for his time and commitment.” ~ President DONALD J. TRUMP

The Legislative Branch is opposing FISA (702) renewal by using opposition as a narrative to enhance their “orange man bad” credentials.Their opposition is fake. In non-pretending realitywe understand the Legislative Branch both wants and controls the dynamics around FISA(702).

The CIA drug trafficking disruptions come as a result of intercepted telecommunication between foreign narco traffickersand those in the U.S. on the receiving side.

With evidence provided, a standard U.S. federal court can issue a warrant against the American side of the communication network if the evidence supports it.

FISA is not needed for the foreign intercept, and FISA is not needed to obtain a warrant. False baseline.

(Congress doesn’t want Pulte to see how they have been using 702 on the America people or illegally in many ways, it’s not unknown to Tulsi how the Congress used it illegally, not just democrats but both sides. Why are they so afraid of Pulsi? There seems to be a need to see why Congress are so afraid for Pulte to see any documents. Answer: the Congress has been abusing it for years against Trump, citizens etc. For the financial or illegals gains and maybe things like Russiagate, etc.)

WATCH: ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones Invokes Fifth Amendment OVER 20 Times in House Admin Committee Hearing 1/2

by Jordan Conradson Jun. 10, 2026 7:20

(Why haven’t they been investigated by law enforcement and the FBI yet?)

ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones on Wednesday repeatedly invoked her Fifth Amendment right, refusing to answer questions during aHouse Administration Committee Hearing, probing the Democratic fundraising platform’s illegal practices.

Jones was called to testify at a hearing titled “Preventing Fraudulent Donations: Transparency, Verification, and Accountability”after she was informed by her attorneys that she may have misled Congress in a 2023 letter to Congress about ActBlue’s vetting of foreign donations.

The Gateway Pundithas reported extensively on the dark-money Democrat donation platform and its policies that allow foreign money to be pumped into Democratic candidates. One of the tactics used to make fraudulent donations is through unsuspecting individuals or ActBlue “smurfs,”whose personal information is used to make donations without their knowledge.

During the hearing, Wallace-Jonesrefused to answer a single question, pleading the Fifth 22 times.

The following questions were asked by House Administration Committee Bryan Steil:

(Seriously why to F’ck are FBI, and every law agency investigating the dam theft and federal crimes, since all have known this since 2023? Every law enforcement agency nationally and internationally investigating them? Where to hell is the Federal Government cracking down on this?)

In 2023, I sent you this letter with five straightforward questions with a goal of confirming that foreign funds are not in our elections and that ACT Blue had adequate fraud prevention measures in place. You replied a month later with a four-page letter describing your fraud prevention policies and procedures that you had in place at ActBlue. But according to the New York Times, your response to this committee may have been false and misleading. When you signed this letter to me, did you believe that this letter was false and misleading?

Before you sent this letter, was it brought to your attention that this letter that you sent me was false and misleading?

According to the New York Times, you’ve been aware for quite a while that the response you made was likely false or misleading. Did you ever consider correcting the record for this committeewhen it was brought to your attention that your letter to me was false and misleading?

Your letter claimed that passport information is required from donors providing an address outside the United States. In November 2023, when you wrote that letter, did every ActBlue donation provided an address outside the United States require passport information?

Your letter also claimed thatActBlue would contact a donor to request passport information if the contribution appeared to be from a foreign address, and you told this committee that the contribution would be refunded if ActBlue was unable to make contact with the donor. Is that correct?

We have reason to believe that your letter in 2023 was not correct because, according to the New York Times, donations that were made through third party apps like PayPal or Venmo, passport information was not always required. So, what’s true? The 2023 letter you sent me or the New York Times article?

After you sent me the 2023 letter.ActBlue weakened its fraud prevention rules twice in 2024, quote, ‘even after internal assessments confirmed that these policy changes would lead to more fraudulent donations,’ End quote.Did you weaken fraud prevention standards to increase donations on the ACL blue platform?

You’ve been asked legitimate questions that are intended to elicit information the committee has the right to have to aid our inquiry. You’ve refused to answer the questions. Are you formally asserting your Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination today?

Wallace-Jones further stonewalled House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Rep. Greg Murphy (R-NC), refusing to answer the following.

Your board chairman said ActBlue accepted up to 38 million contributions in 2024 that had the signs of foreign origin. How much fraud is too much fraud?

How many foreign contributions did ActBlue accept?

How much money did ActBlue accept from Russia?

Why did your entire legal team quit, your in-house legal team?

2/2

Did your legal team quit because of reduced fraud standards?

Did you weaken your fraud standards to help Democrats?

Do you regret any of the things that you said or any of the things that ActBlue has done in the past in regards to foreign donations?

If you had the chance to pick another place to be employed, would you have joined ActBlue?

Throughout the hearing, she continued to gleefully refuse to answer any questions posed by Republican lawmakers.

Per the New York Times, “The Democrats at the hearing posed no questions to Ms. Wallace-Jones but instead attacked WinRed, the Republican fund-raising platform, and Ken Paxton, the Texas attorney general and Senate nominee who has mounted his own investigation of ActBlue.”

This comes amid an expanding probe of ActBlue’s handling of foreign donations.

Last week, House Administration Chairman Bryan Steil (R-WI), Committee on the Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), and Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer (R-KY)fired off letters, requesting documents and transcribed interviews with five members of ActBlue’s Board of Directors.

As reported by Fox, “The letters come as ActBlue is under intense pressure over whether it accurately represented its fraud-prevention practices and handling of foreign donations that may have been routed through the platform into U.S. elections. The Republican-led committees have accused the platform of stonewalling their investigation by withholding documents subpoenaed by the panel and failing to be transparent after learning about the potential misrepresentation of facts.”

The letters seek answers on the fundraising giant’s “knowing and willful” acceptance of foreign donations, false statements previously made under oath by Regina Wallace-Jones, and documented efforts to mislead Congress.

Excerpts from the letters to ActBlue’s Board of Directors read,

“According to the New York Times, in February 2025, ActBlue staff notified thecompany’s Board of Directors about vulnerabilities stemming from apparently ‘knowing and willful’ acceptance of foreign donations and CEO Regina Wallace-Jones’s past misrepresentations to Congress about these donations.

“You reportedly stated that ActBlue, apparently in consultation with the Board of Directors, decided not to ‘correct’ Ms. Wallace-Jones’s false statements to Congress.

“Internal emails produced to the Committees indicate that ActBlue’s union also raised concerns to the Board of Directors during the same period about mass resignations, firings, and alleged internal retaliation related to ActBlue’s failure to adequately address fraud and apparent attempts to mislead Congress.”

Previously, as The Gateway Pundit reported, the House Judiciary Committee deposed five ActBlue employees, and they all pleaded the Fifth Amendment to 146 different questions.

Again why hasn’t the FBI and every law agency in the U.S. and around the world been investigation this organization for years? No offense but they should the same for Republicans, they do the same or similar money laundering?

Why to hell did it take so long, O’Keefe exposed this 3-4 years ago in both parties???
