hree civilians have been injured by an overnight Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s southern Krasnodar Region, Governor Veniamin Kondratyev has said.
Debris from an intercepted UAV sparked a fire at an apartment block in the city of Krasnodar, injuring two people, Kondratyev said in a post on Telegram on Thursday. Several private homes were also damaged and one person injured in the Seversky district of the region, Kondratyev added.
The Krasnodar regional operational headquarters released footage showing the aftermath of the attack. A video and photos posted on the agency’s Telegram channel show damage to the facade of the residential block, shattered windows, and the aftermath of fires in two apartments.
In total, 330 Ukrainian drones were shot down across Russia overnight as the country came under another large-scale Ukrainian aerial raid, the Defense Ministry reported.
The interceptions took place over Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Orel, Smolensk, Tver, and Tula regions, as well as over the Crimean Peninsula, the ministry said.
Ukrainian drone raids on Russian territory have intensified over the past year, with Kiev launching hundreds of UAVs targeting residential areas, critical infrastructure, and industrial facilities.
Russian officials have described the incursions as terrorist attacks meant to compensate for setbacks the Ukrainian military has been suffering on the battlefield.
In May, Ukraine killed 21 students, mostly young women, in a ‘double-tap’ drone strike on a college dormitory in the Russian town of Starobelsk. Earlier this month, Kiev carried out attacks on a bus and a train carrying passengers from Moscow to Simferopol, killing nine people.
Moscow has responded with “systematic and consistent strikes” targeting dual-use infrastructure, including power grids, military sites, command centers, and drone manufacturing facilities across Ukraine. Russia maintains that it never targets purely civilian sites.

Trump says will attend World Cup

US President Donald Trump announced plans Wednesday to attend the World Cup, as the global football tournament prepares to kick off.
“I will, I will,” Trump said when an AFP reporter asked him in the Oval Office if he planned to be at any World Cup matches.
He did not give any details, but FIFA boss Gianni Infantino has said he expects Trump to present the trophy to the winning team at the final on July 19.
Last year Trump did the honors — and was booed — at the FIFA Club World Cup final at the MetLife stadium in New Jersey, the same stadium where the World Cup final will take place.
The Republican billionaire has tried to stamp his mark on the World Cup that is being jointly held in the United States, Mexico and Canada, repeatedly mentioning how he successfully bid for it in his first term as president.
He has also struck up a firm friendship with Infantino, who presented Trump with a special peace prize in December, before US military operations in Venezuela and Iran.
“I spoke to Gianni this morning… he said there’s never been anything close” to the success of the coming tournament, Trump said.
The World Cup has however been dogged by off-field distractions ranging from sky-high ticket prices to an immigration crackdown that has seen fans, team officials and a top Somali referee barred from entering the United States.
Trump said his administration was working on the issue. “We’re working on it very closely to ensure the right people come into our country,” he told reporters.

What to know: A fire broke out at Russia’s Afipsky oil refinery after a reported Ukrainian drone attack, while explosions and infrastructure damage were reported across occupied Crimea.
Russian authorities claimed air defenses intercepted 330 drones overnight, as reports also emerged of strikes on several key bridges connecting Crimea with occupied southern Ukraine, potentially further complicating Russian military logistics.
A fire broke out at one of Russia’s largest oil refineries overnight after what local authorities said was a Ukrainian drone attack, while explosions and strikes were also reported across occupied Crimea.
According to the Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters, drone debris fell in the village of Afipsky, causing a fire at the local oil refinery.
“Debris from the drones fell in the village of Afipsky. This resulted in a fire at the refinery,” the statement said.
Russian authorities also claimed drone debris fell at three locations in a residential area, setting a outbuilding on fire, shattering windows in a house, and damaging a gas pipeline.
The Afipsky Oil Refinery, located about 20 kilometers (12 miles) southwest of Krasnodar, is one of Russia’s largest refining facilities.
Owned by the Safmar Group of businessman Mikhail Gutseriev, it processes approximately 6.25 million tons of crude oil annually and produces gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, and other petroleum products.
The facility completed a 217-billion-ruble ($2.6 billion) modernization project in 2025 and has been repeatedly targeted since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine due to its role in supporting the Russian economy and military logistics.
At 7:00 a.m., the task force announced that the fire had been extinguished.
The refinery had previously been attacked by drones twice this year, on January 21 and March 14. Previous strikes were reported in February, August and September 2025.
Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said three people were injured during the attack. He reported that drone debris struck an apartment building in Krasnodar, causing a fire and injuring two residents.
A third person was reportedly injured in the Seversky district, where several private homes were damaged.
Russian outlet Astra, citing open-source intelligence analysis, reported that a residential building damaged in central Krasnodar is located less than two kilometers from the Kaskad Instrument Plant and JSC Saturn, both linked to Russia’s defense sector, and roughly three kilometers from the Krasnodar-Tsentralny military airfield.
Explosions reported across occupied Crimea
Explosions were also reported across occupied Crimea overnight.
Local Telegram channels reported fires in Simferopol and Sevastopol, while air raid alerts remained in effect for several hours before being lifted after 4 a.m.
According to the Crimean Wind Telegram channel, an explosion in Sevastopol appeared to be an incoming strike, with a flash observed near Kozacha Bay.

Additional strikes were reportedly recorded near Komyshova Bay and a military facility in Striletska Bay, although it remains unclear whether drones or missiles were involved.
Russian air defenses were also reported active near Armyansk. Local channels claimed drones crossed a road bridge, damaging the structure and igniting several trucks.
“The bridge at the entrance to Krasnoperekopsk from Armyansk was also damaged. It appears there are no intact bridges left at the land entrances to the peninsula,” local channels reported.
At the time of publication, Ukraine had not commented on the reported attacks.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 330 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory overnight.
The ministry said drones were detected over the Bryansk, Kursk, Belgorod, Oryol, Smolensk, Kaluga, Tula, Tver, Vladimir, and Moscow regions, as well as over Krasnodar Krai and occupied Crimea.
Due to the drone threat, Rosaviatsiya imposed restrictions on airport operations in Tambov (Donskoye), Krasnodar (Pashkovsky), Sochi, Gelendzhik, and Zhukovsky in the Moscow region starting on the evening of June 10.
Ukraine expands fire control over Crimea access routes
Ukraine has reportedly struck several key transport crossings connecting occupied Crimea with Russian forces operating in southern Ukraine, according to the SPRAVDI Center for Strategic Communications, citing the Russian-installed head of the occupied part of Kherson region.
As per the report, overnight strikes damaged two bridges over the North Crimean Canal, a road bridge on the Perekop-Armyansk route, and another bridge near the settlement of Stavky.
Earlier, OSINT communities reported damage to crossings in the Armyansk and Krasnoperekopsk areas.
Military analysts say the strikes follow recent Ukrainian attacks on bridges in Chongar and Henichesk, which serve as some of the main routes linking Crimea with occupied parts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The latest attacks appear aimed at further restricting Russian movement along alternative supply corridors running through the Perekop-Armyansk area.
According to the OSINT observer Visioner, the campaign is part of a wider Ukrainian effort to place Russian logistics routes under sustained fire control rather than simply destroy individual targets.
The goal would be to complicate repairs and limit the ability of Russian forces to move personnel, fuel, ammunition, and equipment between Crimea and the southern front.
Visioner also points to Ukraine’s growing pressure on Russia’s land corridor along the Sea of Azov. Since May, Ukrainian forces have reportedly targeted traffic on the Mariupol-Berdiansk highway using long-range strike drones, disrupting one of Russia’s key logistical arteries in occupied southern Ukraine.
The latest bridge strikes, combined with continued attacks on transport infrastructure and port facilities, could further complicate Russian resupply efforts in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia sectors, though the full extent of the damage has not yet been independently verified, the analyst adds.
Refinery strikes fuel shortages across Russia and Crimea
According to estimates by the independent Russian outlet 7x7, at least 25 Russian oblasts were experiencing gasoline shortages and supply disruptions as of June 10.
If Russia-occupied territories of Ukraine – Crimea, Sevastopol, and parts of the Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions – are included, the number rises to 31.
In Krasnodar Krai, some gas stations have reportedly begun shutting down due to fuel shortages.
In occupied Crimea, fuel prices have surged. As of June 10, a liter of AI-92 gasoline cost around 82 rubles ($1.13), compared with roughly 69 rubles ($0.69) in Moscow, while AI-95 reached nearly 90 rubles per liter versus 75 rubles in the Russian capital. Resellers were reportedly offering fuel for 130-150 rubles per liter ($5.35 to $6.17 per gallon), around 50% above official Crimean prices.
The shortages are largely attributed to Ukrainian strikes on Russia’s oil refining infrastructure. According to Bloomberg, Russian refineries were attacked 38 times between January and May 2026, including 16 attacks in May alone – the highest monthly figure since the start of the full-scale war.
Data from OilX indicates refinery utilization has fallen 14% since the beginning of the year and remains about 20% below pre-war levels.

Drone attack reported in Iraq's Kurdistan region, as US-Iran tensions grow

The Kurdistan Region of Northern Iraq was struck by two explosive-laden drones, local officials said on Thursday, in the latest attack on the region.
While in the past, Iranian-backed militias and Iran’s regime have attacked the Kurdistan Region, it was not initially clear who carried out the attack.
The reports said that the Counter-Terrorism Service of the Kurdistan autonomous region had noted the attack by the drones.
Shafaq News in Iraq said that “in a statement, the agency condemned the ‘terrorist’ operation in the Qushtapa district south of the Kurdish capital, saying the strike targeted vital civilian infrastructure that affects the daily lives of residents.”
The attack “caused extensive damage to the building, but no casualties were reported. No party has claimed responsibility so far,” the report said.
It also noted that “according to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), 809 drone and missile attacks were recorded across Kurdistan.”
As US-Iran tensions grow, Iraq's PM travels to Washington
The incident comes as US-Iran tensions have grown in recent days. It also comes as Iraq’s prime minister is expected to visit the US.
It is worth noting that Iran and Iranian-backed militias have continued to target Iraq’s Kurdistan Region in recent months, turning the autonomous region into one of the key fronts in the wider confrontation involving Tehran and its adversaries.
The attacks have focused on Kurdish Iranian opposition groups based in northern Iraq, but they have also threatened civilian areas, infrastructure, and broader regional stability.
Since late February, hundreds of drone and missile attacks have struck the Kurdistan Region, according to Kurdish officials and local media.
Many of the attacks have targeted bases belonging to Kurdish Iranian opposition groups such as the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI), Komala, and the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK).
Tehran wants to weaken and deter these groups amid tensions with the US and Israel.
The attacks have continued despite a ceasefire between the United States and Iran. Kurdish officials say that Iranian drones and missiles have repeatedly struck opposition camps near Erbil and Sulaimaniyah.
Komala and PAK have reported dozens of attacks on their facilities, while Kurdish media estimates that the Kurdistan Region has endured more than 800 drone and missile attacks since the conflict began, with the strikes resulting in deaths and injuries.

A Sudanese rights group accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Thursday of killing 23 civilians and injuring 19 in drone attacks in El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State in southern Sudan, for a second consecutive day.
The non-governmental Emergency Lawyers group said RSF drones targeted the state capital late Wednesday, with attacks continuing into Thursday.
The group said the first attack killed five civilians and injured 12. A subsequent strike targeted a gathering at the Dalil Cemetery during a funeral for the victims, killing four civilians and injuring seven more.
Thursday’s attacks targeted homes in the Al-Muwazzafeen and Al-Matar neighborhoods, as well as areas surrounding the Sudanese army’s 5th Infantry Division headquarters, killing 13 civilians who gathered near damaged houses, it said.
A separate attack targeted a truck carrying food supplies at the southern entrance to the city, killing the driver, it added.
Emergency Lawyers said the attacks reflected “a pattern of large-scale targeting” of civilian gatherings, residential neighborhoods and civilian objects, including during rescue operations and funeral processions, raising serious concerns about the failure to distinguish between civilian and military targets, and disregard for the principles of military necessity.
The group held the RSF “fully responsible” for the attacks, saying the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure amounted to serious violations of international humanitarian law.
Neither the RSF nor Sudanese authorities have commented on the allegations.
On May 12, the UN warned of escalating drone attacks in the Kordofan region, saying strikes had killed at least 880 civilians between January and April.
Three Kordofan states North, West and South Kordofan have witnessed intense fighting between the army and the RSF since October 25.
Sudan has been engulfed in conflict since April 2023, when fighting erupted between the army and the RSF regarding plans to integrate the paramilitary force into the military.
The war has triggered one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, killing tens of thousands and displacing nearly 13 million.

Toronto got a mysterious yet dazzling FIFA World Cup drone show

Night owls in Toronto got an unexpected late-night show on Tuesday night when a mysterious drone show, many assume is related to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, lit up the city's waterfront skies.
Residents in high-rise condos who hadn't yet gone to bed spotted hundreds of drones assembling into the shape of a soccer ball, sponsor logos, the Canadian flag, and other FIFA-themed images.
For anyone who happened to glance out their window at the right moment, it sure looked like an impressive preview of the World Cup festivities. Could it all have been a prerecorded video for the opening ceremony? Another Drake video?
Unfortunately, neither FIFA nor the City of Toronto has confirmed to blogTO exactly whether the drone show was a rehearsal for a public event, or recorded for the upcoming opening ceremony this Friday.
Toronto's opening ceremony will begin 1:30 p.m. on June 12, 2026, one day after the Mexico City ceremony and one day before the Los Angeles one.
People were quick to capture Tuesday night's show, which took place near Billy Bishop Airport along Toronto's waterfront
Many Toronto residents seem convinced the dazzling display had something to do with what's undoubtedly expected to be the biggest sports event of the year.
Residents were left in awe of the bright spectacle overhead.
"I've never seen a drone show that detailed before," one Reddit user wrote. "I feel like that would drop my jaw if I saw it in person."
"It was sooo beautiful to watch. When I first saw it appear through my window, I thought I was going crazy, honestly!" commented another.
Others said they were grateful for the surprise entertainment while struggling to fall asleep. But not everyone was quite so prepared for the encounter, though.
"Not gonna lie, I was walking when I suddenly saw a wall of light on my right. Freaked the sh*t out of me," another user wrote.
To be fair, seeing hundreds of glowing objects quietly hovering over the city at 2 a.m. isn't exactly part of people's typical nighttime routine.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup officially kicks off on Thursday, June 11, and Toronto's first match — Canada versus Bosnia & Herzegovina — is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday, June 12, at Toronto Stadium (BMO Field).
Toronto will host six World Cup matches between June 12 and July 2, bringing hundreds of thousands of fans and plenty of international attention to the city.

Ahead of NewsNation’s Reality Check: Road to Disclosure, the investigative journalist tells Los Angeles Magazine why Washington’s secrecy may be creating a national security nightmare
Very few journalists have become as synonymous with the modern UFO disclosure movement as Ross Coulthart.
The award-winning Australian investigative reporter and NewsNation special correspondent first gained international attention after his groundbreaking 2023 interview with former intelligence officer David Grusch.
Grusch alleged the U.S. government has operated a secretive crash retrieval and reverse-engineering program involving non-human technology.
Now, as NewsNation prepares to air its latest special, Reality Check: Road to Disclosure, Coulthart says the conversation around UFO (or UAPs, as they’re now officially known) has fundamentally changed. And for the better.
“This didn’t come out of the press conference, but I really want to draw your attention to it,” Coulthart excitedly told Los Angeles Magazine during an extensive interview that ranged from congressional hearings to missing scientists, Brazilian crash retrieval claims, and the lack of trust in American institutions.
The special, airing Saturday, June 13, details the evolution of the disclosure movement: from Roswell and Cold War secrecy to whistleblowers, declassified records, and modern congressional hearings.
It also features highlights from KTLA’s interview with director Steven Spielberg surrounding his highly anticipated new film, Disclosure Day.
But when Coulthart sat down with Los Angeles, his focus wasn’t Hollywood. It was Washington, and rightfully so.
Fresh off Capitol Hill’s latest UAP press conference featuring Grusch and members of Congress, Coulthart said one revelation should have dominated headlines.
“The very important thing that he said yesterday that a lot of people missed was a very explicit and clear on-the-record statement that he has seen human intelligence and signals intelligence relating to how our foreign adversaries, i.e. China and Russia, are monitoring our crash retrieval and reverse engineering program,” Coulthart said. He believes the implication is staggering.
“At the same time as the U.S. government denies that there’s this program going on, we’ve got this crazy situation where… the Chinese particularly are spying incredibly aggressively to try and find out what the U.S. is doing in its secret UAP research.”
“It raises a really interesting concern to me,” he continued. “The Chinese and the Russians probably know a lot more about it than we do. And that’s the absurdity.”
That’s a scary thought.
While Grusch’s comments generated headlines, Coulthart believes another potentially explosive revelation is quietly unfolding overseas. “My very good friend Jesse Michaels… has just got the most incredible scoop, which is huge,” Coulthart said.
According to Coulthart, former Brazilian Defense Minister Aldo Rebelo has gone on record alleging that both the Varginha incident and the Colares case involved the recovery of non-human craft in Brazil.
“We’re now in a position where world leaders are now contradicting the U.S. denials,” Coulthart said.
“I think that’s what’s going to happen. Unless President Trump gets out ahead of this, we’re going to see other countries coming out and contradicting the U.S. for being so evasive.”
Coulthart said the recent release of government UAP files is also a turning point, but not necessarily because of what was revealed, but because of what it proved.
“It shows the lie in the government cover-up,” he said. “We’ve been told for years, ‘Oh, we can’t release these files because we don’t have any.’ Or, ‘They’re national security sensitive.’ Or, ‘They’re weather balloons. Now we know that all of those are lies.”
Coulthart compared the government’s disclosure efforts to an unsatisfying tease. “It’s kind of like they’ve gone, ‘Yeah, yeah, we’re going to be completely transparent and open with the American public,’ and they’ve gone to bed with us, but all they’ve done is given us a little peck on the cheek. They’re not following through.”

Throughout the conversation, Coulthart repeatedly stressed that he believes the story goes much further than extraterrestrial life. He referenced Grusch’s allegations involving black-budget programs and hidden spending.
“This isn’t about little green men,” he said. “This is about billions of dollars. David Grusch… talked about billions of dollars being diverted into slush funds, unaccountable monies being diverted into slush funds.”
At the same time, Coulthart acknowledged that Congress and lawmakers may be focusing on financial accountability because discussions about aliens still carry enormous stigma.
“I think they’re frightened of the stigma associated with talking about aliens,” he said. “So they’re deliberately trying to push the buttons of your money being spent on things that aren’t accountable.”
“But ultimately, yes,” he added. “We are also talking about recovered alien spacecraft, recovered alien beings.”
Perhaps the most fascinating part of the interview was Coulthart’s vivid memory of the moment that everything changed for him.
The longtime investigative reporter insists he did not come into covering this subject as a true believer, which was quite the revelation.
“I came into this honestly thinking I was going to debunk it,” he said, laughing. “I really did.”
He expected to uncover a secret American technological breakthrough. “I honestly thought in the end what I was going to discover was a new American black technology.”
Instead, he says he found something else entirely. Way back in his reporting, Coulthart said he developed a relationship with the late Nat Kobitz, former head of research and development for the U.S. Navy.
After months of conversations, Coulthart said Kobitz admitted he’d been briefed into the alleged legacy program.
“He said, ‘Ask me the question,'” Coulthart recalled.
“And I said, ‘Are there recovered alien spacecraft?'”
“And he went, ‘Yes. Multiple.'”
According to Coulthart, Kobitz then introduced him to others allegedly involved. That led to a surreal night in Washington, D.C.
“I had an evening where three guys came through my apartment all of whom were working in the legacy program,” he said.
“At the end of that night… my head is hurting because I’m so overwhelmed with the ontological shock of realizing, holy God, this is really true. Holy f—, this is real.”
Coulthart also weighed in on several mysterious disappearances that have garnered public attention. One of them, retired Air Force General Neil McCasland, remains a source of frustration.
“I think General Neil McCasland’s disappearance is a major national security issue,” Coulthart said. “I do think that until we have an answer, the disappearance of General Neil McCasland needs to be looked at with the strong possibility, if not likelihood, that he’s the victim of foul play.”
He questioned the official narrative surrounding the case of McCasland as well. “There are Ring doorbell cameras, CCTVs all along the route that he would’ve taken… There’s nowhere evidence he ever left the house. That’s the sinister thing.”
He also expressed concern about the disappearance of NASA JPL employee Monica Jacinto Reza. “Something’s not right,” Coulthart said. “The public’s not getting answers and neither is her family.”
For all of the focus on disclosure, Coulthart did offer a surprisingly nuanced view of President Trump’s knowledge. ”I know President Trump knows,” he said. “I know he’s being briefed.”
But he quickly added, “Every president comes to the realization that they are not as powerful as they thought they would be.” He pointed to Dwight Eisenhower’s famous warning about the military-industrial complex.
“We have a situation where the Constitution is being malevolently manipulated by sections of the national security state and the intelligence community and private military aerospace who don’t want to have to face up to a public accounting for their behavior. They’ve lied to us for at least 80 years.” This gave us chills.
It’s clear that Ross Coulthart’s work as an investigative journalist has helped propel the UFO conversation into the mainstream. For Coulthart, the issue isn’t simply whether humanity is alone; it’s whether Americans have been denied the truth.
“The people inside that whole dirty program, they think you have a right to know about this,” he said. “They’re as disgusted about the secrecy as you are.”
And after decades of ridicule surrounding the topic, he believes the public is finally ready to listen. “The younger people,” he said, “they’re not buying this b*llshit.”

Brazil's former Defense Minister and current presidential candidate Aldo Rebelo confirms the country has had contact with non-human intelligence dating back to at least the 70’s.
He says that in 1977, in Colares, UFOs were injuring civilians in the Amazon with burns, puncture wounds and blood loss serious enough to trigger a classified military investigation.
In 1986, six fighter jets were scrambled against 21 unidentified craft detected by radar – the objects were flying at Mach 20+ and making right angle turns, maneuvers well beyond the capabilities of the most advanced craft today.
He also confirms that the 1996 Varginha UFO crash occurred, that non-human beings were encountered, and says he fully believes the neurosurgeon who came face to face with one of them in a hospital bed.
He also confirms the American military would have had an immediate strategic interest in the case. Rebelo says there is more classified information about these cases and others, and that they should be released alongside America's.
Rebelo’s confirmation of the events at Varginha is the equivalent of former Defense Ministers in the United States like Robert Baker or Jim Mattis saying Roswell happened; its world history that can’t be walked back.
