Got a tech problem that probably doesn't belong here but I'm drawing a blank about where else to look:

I need to know one thing: how can I find out what continent a text message connects with (choice is North America or Australia)?

The receiving phone number is US based BUT it is claimed that the phone traveled to Australia.

I think I'm being defrauded, BUT I don't want to strand someone who is actually counting on me on another continent.
