There is a tremendous amount of wisdom available in this world through text. In order to properly understand it, however, you need to know how information flows through the world. The world which is made of the symbols which we have created, such as language, to facilitate the transmission of ideas, is only a rude approximation of the totality of all which exists. As such, when looking towards text to seek knowledge, think of it more as a window through which you can look to see truth, rather than a vehicle which contains truth. If you fall into the trap of treating the dead letters of text as truth itself, you will become susceptible to all manner of malady, instead of obtaining the wisdom which was presented before you.
