I would almost guarantee you, that it was not a flu or gain of function, but cyanide based, manufactured from natural sources and weaponized. The DS is not that smart but actually very cowardly, cunning, lazy, and evil. Most people do not realize that probably 95% of diseases are actually related to cyanide poisoning. I am sure of this.
