My tattoo—

Let me explain, because I have now been asked this 1000s of times.

My Mom was from Skaneateles Lake.

My grandparents owned and ran the Hunter Diner in Auburn, NY.

Beau and I spent our summers with my grandparents on Owasco Lake.

It’s my favorite place in the world.

It is home to me.

I tattooed the map on my back.

Sorry QAnon / 4chan / Insane Twitter.

Dividing us by gender is maybe not such a bad idea. In the animal kingdom, strict sexual segregation is common. Numerous species live in separate, same-sex groups or as solitary individuals, only seeking out the opposite gender during their mating seasons. Simply having the biological capability to reproduce doesn't mean the sexes are highly compatible for everyday, year-round coexistence. Same-sex groups can be much more stable. For example, some species of spider monkeys live segregated simply because male and female behaviors and interactions become hostile when they are forced to spend too much time together outside of breeding.
