'In camera' basically means behind closed doors. Camera = latin for room. Modern term camera comes from 'camera obscura' dark rooms ancient Italians sat in with a small hole in the wall where they would see an upside image of the outside world. The less ancient Italians would go to different rooms with holes in the walls.
