A Russian vessel fired warning shots near a British yacht sailing on a dangerous trajectory in the English Channel, the Russian Defense Ministry has said, adding that the shots were fired when all other options had been exhausted.
The Admiral Grigorovich was sailing in international waters between the Isle of Wight and Normandy shortly before midday on Tuesday when its crew spotted the civilian yacht, the ‘Bright Future’ sailing “on a dangerous course that would bring it into close proximity with the warship,” the ministry said.
The Russian crew tried and failed to reach the yacht by radio, before firing signal flares and sounding a siren, neither of which succeeded in changing its course. When the yacht came within 150 meters, the commander of the Admiral Grigorovich decided to fire warning shots across its bow with small arms.
“Following this, the British-flagged yacht immediately altered course and moved away from the Russian warship,” the ministry said, adding that the Russian crew “acted in strict compliance with international navigation rules and took all necessary measures to prevent an incident.”
The incident was first reported by the British press, which made no mention of the yacht sailing toward the warship. The British Defense Ministry did not comment on the encounter, except to tell the BBC that it was “investigating reports of an incident in the Channel.”
The Admiral Grigorovich – a 3,600-ton warship equipped to carry Kalibr cruise missiles – was being followed by a Royal Navy patrol ship – the HMS Mersey – at the time of the incident, the BBC reported. It is unclear how close the HMS Mersey was to the Admiral Grigorovich at the time.
The incident took place two days after British commandos boarded and seized a Cameroon-flagged tanker supposedly carrying sanctioned Russian oil. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the tanker as belonging to Russia’s “shadow fleet,” a euphemism for tankers that carry Russian oil without coverage from Western insurers. The vessel, the ‘Smyrtos’, was boarded in the English Channel.

Bennett wasn’t alone. Several hardline and hawkish voices erupted in fury over the reported Trump-brokered US-Iran ceasefire agreement, blasting it as a lifeline to the Ayatollahs that leaves Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, ballistic missiles, and regional proxies largely intact, the jpost.com reports.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was blistering on X:

Trump Publicly Rebukes Israel for Almost Torpedoing Iran Deal with “Vicious” Strikes in Beirut – “Without Me, There Would Be No Israel… Bibi Has to Be More Responsible”

When asked if he was frustrated with Netanyahu, Trump maintained that they have a “great relationship,” but referenced the Beirut attack again. “I saw that attack, I saw where that bomb went. Did you see what happened? That was not, that was a vicious, that was too much, you know? You can do too much also,” he said, noting that “Without the United States, there would be no Israel.”
“I’ve had a great relationship with Bibi, but now Bibi has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon. Lebanon used to be a great country. It was a country where you had professors, doctors, lawyers; the great intellect was in Lebanon. Now it’s just, it’s terrible,” Trump continued.
Trump went on, lambasting Obama for the disastrous JCPOA, arguing that Israel is only still around because of Trump, seeming to imply that Netanyahu needs to be more grateful and obedient.

SUPREME COURT Rejects Carter Page’s Last-Ditch Effort to Hold James Comey and His FBI Cronies Accountable for Russia Hoax FISA Surveillance Abuse
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday denied former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page’s attempt to revive his lawsuit against former FBI Director James Comey and seven other FBI officials over their roles in the abusive FISA surveillance during the Russia collusion hoax.
The High Court’s brief order offered no comment or explanation, slamming the door on Page’s years-long fight for justice after he was targeted with four FISA warrants built on lies, omissions, and the discredited Steele dossier, according to Fox News.
As The Gateway Pundit has reported extensively since the earliest days of the Russia hoax, Carter Page was never charged with a single crime. Not one.
Yet the FBI, under Comey’s leadership, obtained repeated FISA warrants to spy on him by feeding the secret court a stream of uncorroborated opposition research paid for by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC through Perkins Coie and Fusion GPS.
The 2019 Department of Justice Inspector General report by Michael Horowitz laid it bare: 17 significant errors and omissions in the FISA applications targeting Page.
The FBI deliberately hid from the FISA Court the fact that Page had previously cooperated with the CIA on Russian matters, explosive exculpatory information that destroyed their entire premise.
In April, the Trump Justice Department finally did the right thing and settled Page’s claims against the federal government for $1.25 million.
A DOJ spokesman was blunt: “No American should ever face covert and unlawful surveillance based on their political view,” adding that the investigation relied on “inherently flawed and uncorroborated information, proving it was a political sham from the get-go.”
But the claims against the individual bad actors, Comey and his FBI cronies, were dismissed by a federal judge on statute of limitations grounds.
Lower courts ruled Page waited too long to sue (he filed in 2020, arguing the clock should start from when the full extent of the abuses became clear via the IG report).
The D.C. Circuit upheld that ruling. And now the Supreme Court has refused to even hear the case.

The Israeli government has reportedly outlined a plan to issue state funding to members of the extremist settler group Hilltop Youth, allocating some 5.5 million shekels ($1.9 million) for monthly stipends for its members.
Founded in the late 1990s, the group has been operating in the West Bank and maintaining a network of illegal outposts in the occupied Palestinian territories. Over the years, the Hilltop Youth has been involved in numerous violent incidents against Palestinians, including arson and murder, with almost complete impunity. The group, which is believed to have fewer than 1,000 active members, was recognized as an extremist entity and sanctioned by the EU and the US Office of Foreign Assets Control back in 2024.
The Israeli government is now seeking to provide stipends to the members of the group to cover food, clothes, and other basic necessities, the Yedioth Ahronoth daily reported on Monday, citing a document issued by far-right Settlement and National Missions Minister Orit Strock. The ministry has identified more than 650 youths living in hilltop outposts across the West Bank who are eligible for the program.
The members of the group will receive about $550 per month under the program starting in June, according to the newspaper. The plan involves allocating nearly $2 million to bankroll the program until the end of the year.
The funds are a part of a broader program worth some 120 million shekels ($41.3 million), which is supposed to address the violence against Palestinians perpetrated by settlers, the daily noted. The program combines educational means with social work, including fielding mediators between the Hilltop Youth and local authorities, as well as encouraging military conscription.
The movement, which takes its roots in religious Zionism, is largely composed of Israeli settlers aged between 16 and 26. The group’s members opt to leave their homes, abandoning their education or work, to live in hilltop outposts overlooking Palestinian communities while harassing locals. The settler violence has been on the rise in the West Bank since the surprise attack on Israel by Hamas in October 2023, which triggered a major conflict in Gaza.

UK Tech Minister Hints at Potential VPN Ban to Enforce Social Media Restrictions
The British government has suggested it may ban VPN services as it seeks to enforce its upcoming social media ban for children under 16.
The censorious left-wing UK government said that it will announce plans for Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) next month amid growing questions about how it intends to ensure that children do not subvert the upcoming social media prohibition.
Critics have warned that the social media ban for under-16s will require the state to implement a digital ID system to verify internet users’ ages, potentially impacting the privacy of all citizens, including law-abiding adults.
Others have also questioned what the government intends to do about children who simply use VPNs to mask their IP addresses and access the internet from countries that don’t prohibit children from using social media sites.
While VPNs were once mostly used by people in authoritarian countries like Communist China, Islamist Iran, or Vladimir Putin’s Russia to unblock vast swathes of the internet, they have grown in popularity in Western countries in recent years amid rising state censorship.
Indeed, according to data collected by the IT Asset Management Group, Google searches for “VPN” rose by 165 per cent after Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer formally announced plans to ban social media for those under 16 on Monday, City AM reported.
Technology Minister Liz Kendall told the BBC on Tuesday morning that the government will “make further statements in July about VPNs and further restrictions.”

Local officials in Arizona’s Maricopa County have accused county recorder Justin Heap’s office of improperly seizing election equipment and documents as votes were being counted in local elections earlier this year.
In taking the equipment and files, Heap’s office set off “grave chain-of-custody concerns” and forced the county to purchase new equipment, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors said in a press release Monday.
In the county’s press release, Board Chair Kate Brophy McGee, a Republican, and Board Vice Chair Debbie Lesko, another Republican, said security cameras in March recorded staff from Heap’s office removing a scanner from a secure election site without permission.
Besides the scanner, which the board said it controlled, Heap’s office also took provisional ballot envelopes, some of which may have contained live ballots for municipal elections in Tempe, Arizona.
