To sabotage even a well chlorinated large body of water,
all it takes to disturb the PH alkalinity in that amount of water is a couple gallons of pool acid.
As soon as acidity or alkalinity are too high, algae will begin growing.
Once algae getz a hold, it takes a lot of flocculating and vacuuming to get it out.
Even adding moar chlorine will end up feeding the algae.
If the PF is balanced at around 7.2 - 7.4 it's easy to maintain clean clear water.
And considering it's basically a pool, install some skimmer boxes and a filtration station. Problem solved.
