At10:26 AMon September 11, 2001, the North Tower of the World Trade Center was in its final moments before collapse. The tower, which had been struck by American Airlines Flight 11 at 8:46 AM, burned intensely for over 100 minutes. The structural steel weakened by the heat of the jet fuel fire could no longer support the building's weight.

The tower ultimately collapsed at10:28 AM, approximately two minutes after this timestamp. This event occurred just minutes after the South Tower collapsed at 9:59 AM and the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania at 10:03 AM. The destruction of the North Tower marked the end of the immediate physical attacks on that day, resulting in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people
