South Dakota man whose life sentence was commuted by Kristi Noem charged in connection with teen's death. 1/2

McKenna Wendel was found dead days after being reported missing.

June 19, 2026, 5:00 PM ET

A man whose life sentence for manslaughter was commuted by then-South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has been charged in connection with the death of a 14-year-old girl, in what authorities called a "horrific" case.

McKenna Wendel was reported missing in mid-March and found dead in a rural area near Brookings, South Dakota, following a dayslong search, according to Sioux Falls police.

Following a monthslong investigation, her relative, 51-year-old Mark Milk, faces federal charges alleging he transported a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, possessed cocaine that led to McKenna's death and then conspired with another man to destroy evidence, according to the indictment.

The other defendant, 38-year-old Jon Rogness of Brookings, is also accused of acting as an accessory to help Milk avoid prosecution, according to the indictment.

The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Iowa. Prosecutors did not go into detail regarding the case, including where the alleged acts took place or the connection between the two defendants.

"The Department of Justice policy is to pursue the most serious, readily provable charges, and the charges that are alleged in the indictment all occurred within the Northern District of Iowa," Iowa U.S. Attorney Leif Olson said during a press briefing Thursday when asked how the jurisdiction was decided in the case.

The U.S. attorney's office would not confirm Milk's relationship to McKenna. Sioux Falls police have previously said Milk is a family member of McKenna's. A 2018 article in the Argus Leader featuring the family noted that Milk is McKenna's uncle and featured a photo of the two together at an event for inmates and their families.

According to the indictment, the teen died from a drug overdose on or about March 14. She was last seen on March 13 and her grandparents reported her missing two days later, according to Sioux Falls police. Her body was found on March 19, with someone with knowledge of her location leading authorities there, Sioux Falls police previously said.

Olson did not confirm whether her death occurred in Iowa, saying that the charge alleges that either the distribution of cocaine or the death took place in Iowa.

"The charge itself is not meant to imply which of those took place here," he said. "That's something that will be proven at trial."

Multiple agencies in Iowa and South Dakota were involved in the investigation, including at the local, state and federal level.

"This is a horrific case," Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Omaha Field Office Gene Kowel, whose office covers Iowa, said in a press briefing on Thursday announcing the charges. "There are no cases that we investigate that are more heart-wrenching, more tragic than ones that involve children or the death of a child."

Kowel noted that a disproportionate number of victims are in indigenous communities. McKenna's family are members of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. Her obituary noted that she and her grandparents, who raised her, often attended powwows together and that she "loved the singing and the beautiful sounds of the drums."

"Our hearts go out to the victim's family in this case, to McKenna's family," Kowel said. "From what I've heard, I know that her life, although far too short here on Earth, will have a profound impact on everybody who knew her."

Both men charged in the case are in state custody, authorities said. Their initial court appearance has not yet been scheduled. Online court records do not list any attorney information for them.

Milk has been in custody since March 17, when he was arrested for drunk driving and aggravated eluding charges.

He was sentenced to life in prison in 1994 for manslaughter, after fatally stabbing a man during a fight. The state's Board of Pardons and Paroles recommended in 2022 that the governor commute his life sentence. Noem, while she was governor at the time, commuted his life sentence to 240 years in 2023, making him eligible for parole. McKenna was listed among the guests for his parole hearing in June 2024.

Milk's name has been raised throughout the investigation into McKenna's death. During a news conference in late March following the discovery of her body, South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley was asked about Noem's decision to commute Milk's life sentence.

"I wasn't attorney general at the time that this commutation process went, but I went through the process," he said. "Law enforcement provided the reports that indicate what had occurred back with the initial manslaughter, and then at that point, under the constitution, it's a determination of the governor to make a commutation or parole decision."

He said at the time that he hasn't been able to view the full commutation file because it is under seal.

Pulte Factor – Quick Reference Guide to Media Leaks

June 20, 2026 | Sundance |

With Acting DNI Bill Pulte coming into office, several people have requested my simple guide to identifying media leaks.

This reference resource is based on historic patterns and generally has an 80/20 accuracy rate. While there are some leaks that cross through the data pattern, in the aggregate this basic outline has shown to be correct.

The leak source identification can help interested political observers understand the motives and objectives.

When you see the term “exclusive” in the originating media report, this guide increases in accuracy:

•The State Department leaks to CNN

• The CIA leaks to The Washington Post

• The DOJ/FBI leaks to The New York Times and Politico

DHS domestically leaks to the Wall Street Journal

The National Security Council leaks primarily to Axios and Politico, NYT secondary

• The Pentagon leaks to Fox News and the Wall Street Journal (Axios more recent)

Kash Patel leaks to John Solomon – Just The News

• ¹DNI leaks to the Wall Street Journal, however:

¹The ODNI gets a little complicated due to the structure of the ODNI. Each intelligence agency has a liaison office inside the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

• Generally, the topline guide above overlays with the desk assignment.

• Example 1: CNN gets an ‘exclusive’ leak related to the • • •DNI; the leak sourcing is therefore most likely to be the State Dept Desk inside the DNI office. (State Dept leaks to CNN)

Example 2: Washington Post gets an ‘exclusive’ leak related to the DNI. The leak sourcing is directly from the CIA liaison desk inside DNI. (CIA leaks to WaPo)

This is the consistent pattern that established itself over the past 20 years. It is generally accurate on an 80/20 basis. Meaning 80% of the time the origin of the leak can be identified this way with accuracy; 20% of the time it is not.

Hope that helps.

Part One Iran Delusion

Lots of news out of Iran and U.S. with others over past couple of days. 5 parts of insanity and truth. Insanity mostly Iran. Truth very hard to find in the news

First of Iran leaders are crazy, they all have different opinions but are all sure they are winning. Iran is only acting arrogant because they don’t want the world to know that Trump won the negotiation. I think the U.S. is allowing Iran trying to save face, but there is no way for Iran to claim a victory. But they have to do this because it’s such a failure of their government. If any one of them admitted they made a peace treaty with the U.S. all the radicals would try to kill the leaders.

It’s more dangerous to be a leader in the government of Iran, that is trying to negotiate peace, because the IRGC will kill those on the side of Peace.. Just thought its better to drop the nonsense all at once.

Iran media told to frame Hormuz closure as support for diplomacy

Iranian media outlets have been instructed to avoid portraying the renewed closure of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s simultaneous participation in Switzerland talks as a divide between the country's armed forces and negotiators, according to a Supreme National Security Council directive seen by Iran International.

The directive, addressed to media managers and editors, said the renewed closure of Hormuz came in response to what it called continued ceasefire violations and Israeli actions in southern Lebanon, while Iran’s negotiating team was heading to Switzerland.

It said the Islamic Republic was pursuing a “single strategy” that combines deterrence and military leverage with diplomacy to force the other side to implement its commitments and protect Iran’s national interests.

The directive urged media outlets to frame military actions not as a replacement for diplomacy but as its support, and to avoid presenting negotiations as a sign of retreat.

It also called on outlets to emphasize the “synergy” between military power and diplomacy in securing national interests.

US released Iran MOU before Tehran approved detailed proposals - CNN

US negotiators released a memorandum of understanding with Iran without waiting for its senior leadership to approve separate, still-secret proposals on how to implement the 14 points in the agreement, CNN reported, citing a source familiar with what Trump officials told top congressional lawmakers.

CNN had previously reported that US and Iranian officials were working on the proposals, including details on the future of Iran's nuclear program, citing US and regional officials.

The negotiators released the 14-point MOU in part because they did not want to delay the next phase of talks, CNN said. It said securing Iran's formal approval of the implementation proposals would have required more time.

The report also said US officials had described "gentleman's agreements" outside the written memorandum and that some senior administration officials had doubts Iran would meet commitments on its nuclear program.

Religious singer threatens Pezeshkian with death if Khamenei terms fail

A state-linked religious singer in Shahr-e Rey threatened President Masoud Pezeshkian with death if the conditions set by Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei over the US memorandum are not fulfilled.

The threat came a day after Khamenei said he had held a different view on the agreement with Washington but authorized its implementation after Pezeshkian accepted responsibility for it.

“Mr. President, if the Leader’s conditions are not fulfilled, then it will be us, the blade and your throat,” the religious singer said.

In Iran, such performers, known as maddahs, are religious singers and reciters who lead mourning chants in Shiite ceremonies, but some have also become influential political voices aligned with hardline and security-linked networks.

Kamyar Behrang, a member of Iran International’s editorial team, said these figures are “not merely elegy reciters,” but part of the Islamic Republic’s security and repression apparatus, with links to institutions such as the Revolutionary Guards.

Khamenei military adviser warns US could exploit wording in final Iran deal

Mohsen Rezaei, a military adviser to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and a former IRGC commander, warned that any final text for a US-Iran agreement must be technically and legally precise, saying Tehran should guard against wording that Washington could later interpret narrowly.

Rezaei said the language on sanctions relief must be carefully drafted and that any provision on lifting the blockade should be stated explicitly.

He pointed to a possible loophole in one of the 14 points of the memorandum, saying Iran had demanded that US forces withdraw from areas around Iran within 30 days of a final agreement.

“But they may say that ‘around you’ means the 12 nautical miles of your coastal waters,” Rezaei said, adding that such an interpretation would be unacceptable to Tehran.

US memorandum is war-management tool, not a durable settlement – Iran paper

The long-running conservative Ettelaat newspaper said the memorandum between Tehran and Washington had helped prevent a wider war but offered no guarantee of long-term stability.

The newspaper said that after the formal signing of the memorandum, the central question was whether it could survive and whether Donald Trump’s United States could be trusted to continue the path toward a final agreement.

She said the memorandum had postponed key issues to the future, with both sides choosing first to prevent the crisis from escalating before entering more complex bargaining.

The article argued that the memorandum contained many positive points for Iran and said Trump’s comments on the sidelines of the G7 summit about Iran’s frozen assets and the continuation of its nuclear program were unexpectedly positive.

But it said the memorandum was “more the beginning of a new phase of managed rivalry” than the end of a crisis, adding that the memorandum had no guarantee of long-term durability and functioned more as a tool to prevent a wider war and control energy markets.

She also argued that Trump, who wanted a quick victory, was forced to shift his position once it became clear Iran would not surrender.

The article described the signing of the memorandum without taking Benjamin Netanyahu’s concerns into account as his biggest security defeat since the October 7, 2023 attack.

US, Qatar work on plan to give Iran access to $6bn in frozen funds - WSJ(this turned out to be a complete lie)

The United States and Qatar are working on a plan that could give Iran access to billions of dollars in frozen funds for humanitarian spending, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The plan, which has not been finalized, would initially allow Tehran to use $6 billion held in Qatar to buy food, medicine and other humanitarian goods, the report said.

The funds are part of Iran’s estimated $100 billion in cash frozen worldwide, much of it revenue from oil sales locked up overseas under sanctions, according to the Journal.

Under the proposed mechanism, Iran’s central bank would be able to order humanitarian goods using the previously frozen funds, with transfers carried out under international supervision.

The Journal said the plan remains in its early stages and has not yet been agreed to by Tehran.

The proposal would mark another early financial incentive under the recently signed US-Iran memorandum, while stopping short of giving Tehran unrestricted access to the money.

Iran lawmaker says Khamenei wanted more than 14-point US memorandum

A Tehran lawmaker said Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei had expected more from the 14-point memorandum with Washington, adding to pressure on Iran’s negotiating team not to show flexibility in the next phase of talks.

Esmail Kowsari, a member of parliament from Tehran, told Khaneh Mellat, parliament’s news agency, that Khamenei’s message showed he believed more issues could have been included in the framework.

He said Khamenei had nevertheless agreed that the negotiating team should continue the talks under the current conditions, but warned that Iran must not retreat before what he called the enemy.

Kowsari said negotiators should remember that the United States proposed a ceasefire and talks from a “very fragile” position and needed the process.

“In the continuation of the negotiations, they must act in a way that America never feels the Islamic Republic of Iran needs negotiations with US,” he said.

Kowsari said Iran remained the real winner of the confrontation and was still negotiating from a position of power.

Hormuz must stay shut until $12B released, Israel leaves Lebanon - Tasnim

It said reopening the Strait only in return for the lifting of the US naval blockade would be a “strategic mistake” and a violation of the Iran-US memorandum of understanding.

Trump admin seeks to roll back testosterone restrictions — why docs are conflicted

By Allie Yang

Published June 19, 2026, 12:23 p.m. ET

It may soon get easier for older men to get ahold of testosterone therapy.

On Thursday, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announcedthat it is requesting updates to the prescribing information testosterone replacement therapy drugs, or TRT.

The department is hoping to roll back restrictions on access for older men — but not all experts are convinced there’s enough research to make such sweeping changes.

In 2015, the FDA slapped warning labels on testosterone medications, cautioning that they weren’t proven safe for low-T and might trigger heart attacks or strokes.

Now, HHS is reversing course.Citing new research that suggests the hormone is far less risky than once feared, officials dropped the cardiovascular warnings in 2025 and are now pushing to tone down alerts regarding prostate cancer and enlargement.

“During Men’s Health Month, we are putting science back at the center of men’s healthcare,” HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. declared in a press release. “By updating testosterone therapy labels to reflect current evidence, we are giving patients and physicians clearer information, supporting informed medical decisions, and improving care for millions of American men.”

What is TRT taken for?

TRT requires a prescription and is used to treat hypogonadism, when the testicles don’t produce enough sex hormones — mainly testosterone. It can help improve sex drive, boost performance, increase muscle, drop fat, and stabilize energy and mood.

Research suggests testosterone levels naturally start decreasing around age 35. Around 35% of men older than 45 have hypogonadism.

Excess body fat also lowers testosterone levels, and low testosterone makes it harder to lose weight. As many as 30-50% of men with obesity or type 2 diabetes have hypogonadism.

TRT and the heart

The 2015 warnings were prompted by potential heart risks — and,HHS said this week, “limited” evidence of benefits.

But the department said more recent research suggests heart risk may not be as big of a problem as feared, citing the 2023 TRAVERSE trial, which examined over 5,200 men with high risks of heart disease and symptoms of hypogonadism.

Researchers found that testosterone caused about the same number of major cardiac events — like heart attacks, strokes and death — as a placebo.

However, compared to the placebo group, those using TRT were more likely to have developed atrial fibrillation, an irregular heart rate that can increase the risk for stroke and heart failure, and pulmonary embolism, a blood clot blocks blood flow to a lung artery.

“The cardiovascular effects of testosterone-replacement therapy in middle-aged and older men with hypogonadism have not been determined,” the authors concluded.

While some experts say testosterone is safe, others insist more research is needed.

But based on this study and “other available evidence” that the HHS doesn’t cite, the “FDA has concluded that the limitation of use is no longer warranted.”

“As our understanding of testosterone therapy continues to evolve, prescribing information should reflect the best available science,” said Brian J. Christine, M.D., Assistant Secretary for Health. “This action helps ensure patients and healthcare providers have accurate, up-to-date information when considering treatment options.”

TRT and prostate health

Currently, labels on testosterone warn that men with prostate cancer, or even suspected prostate cancer, should not use it. Research shows that cancer can grow and multiply with TRT.It also says it could increase the risk for developing prostate cancer.

The HHS is suggesting use only be limited for people with metastatic prostate cancer, or prostate cancer that spread to other parts of the body. Experts say that TRT does not increase the risk of developing prostate cancer in people who do not have it already.

“However, important uncertainties remain because prostate cancer can take years to develop,” the HHS said. “The proposed labeling continues to recommend that healthcare providers assess risk, screen patients before treatment and monitor patients during therapy.”

The FDA is also requesting updates to labeling information related to benign prostatic hyperplasia, or a noncancerous enlargement of the prostate...

Ultimate Test: Wyoming Antelope vs African Cheetah To See Which Animal Is Faster. 1/2

What a drag! A long-awaited speed test to see whether Wyoming pronghorn are faster than Africa’s cheetahs was a bust. The pronghorn didn’t feel like running and never went faster than 27 mph. Officials are hoping to do another test in the winter. Mark Heinz

Wildlife researchers seemed poised to settle once and for all thedebate over whether Wyoming pronghorn are actually faster than cheetahs in Africa.

But the pronghorn, commonly called antelope, apparently weren’t interested in doing their part.

A buck and a doe antelope were captured this spring near Pinedale by Wyoming Game and Fish researchers. The animals were outfitted with high-tech speed tracking collars and set loose.

Instead of kicking it into high gear and wowing researchers with documented speeds that could put cheetahs to shame, the antelope more or less just ambled about.

During the test period, the buck hit a top speed of 27 mph, and the doe topped out at 19 mph.

The pronghorn speed tests are the brainchild of Uinta CountyLance Neeff. And despite the pronghorns’ lackadaisical response, he and Game and Fish aren’t ready to give up.KEK

It’s hoped that another test can be conducted this winter.

The rub will be figuring out how to nudge the pronghorn into an all-out sprint, without unnecessarily harassing or stressing them.

Do Cheetahs Deserve Speed Crown?

It’s long been accepted that cheetahs are the world’s fastest land animal, purported to reachspeeds of nearly 70 mph in short bursts.

Pronghorn are said to top out at somewhere around 55 mph.

The “speed goats,” as Wyomingites sometimes affectionately call pronghorn),could claim only the endurance title, as they can hold their top speed over several miles, while cheetahs burn out quickly.

It’s also thought that pronghorn developed their speed capabilities long ago, trying to flee from a now-extinct North American cheetah-like big cat species.

Neeff disagrees that the speed contest between cheetahs and pronghorn has been adequately decided in the cheetahs’ favor.

He saidthere is at least some anecdotal evidence of pronghorn holding steady at 65 mph while paralleling vehicles on Wyoming roads– and he’s convinced that they can go even faster.

And the speed tests on cheetahs date back to the 1960s, using rather crude methods, such as dangling bait meat out of the back of a speeding Range Rover and letting a cheetah chase it, he said.

He has hoped for years to get pronghorn scientifically speed-tested using modern technology.

Testing Day

Neeff first approached Game and Fish about speed testing pronghorn in 2024, Devin Gearhart, the agency’s fence ecologist, stated in an email to Cowboy State Daily.

There weren’t any pronghorn research captures planned that year. The test was postponed until March 7, when Game and Fish had planned to capture and collar 40 pronghorn for general research purposes.

The speed tests were performed in the Pinedale Anticline Project Area, a natural gas field south of Pinedale.

Gearhart and Game and Fishwildlife technician Dalton Brauer agreed to also put speed-testing collars, provided by Neeff, on two of the pronghorn.

2/2

The collars feature “Spektrum GNSS wireless GPS speed meters, typically used for RC motorsports,” Gearhart said.

The speed-detecting collars were programmed to drop off the test subjects within 2 to 3 hours.

It was hoped that thepronghorn would at least go into a high-speed burst immediately upon their release, but that didn’t happen.

“Since we know pronghorn can reach top speeds much greater than what was recorded, we believe this would only occur under more stressful conditions, such as predation or prolonged human/vehicle presence,” Gearhart said.

Neeff said that on the day of the tests, the captured pronghorn wereslung under a helicopter for transport to the collaring site.

So, he’s suggested that next time, researchers should trychasing pronghorn with the helicopter, to push the animals to their top speeds.

He doesn’t think that would be too stressful or create too much risk for injury in a species designed to flee danger at high speed.

Let’s Keep Trying

Neeff and Game and Fish are staking their hopes on further testing.

During a telephone interview, Game and Fish Director Angi Bruce told Cowboy State Daily that she likes the idea of speed-testing pronghorn, to see if they really are faster than Cheetahs.

It could put one of Wyoming’s most “overlooked” species in the spotlight, she said.

Bringing more attention to pronghorn could also help boost conservation efforts, such as protecting the species vital migration routes, Bruce said.

Neeff said providing the data that could get pronghorn crowned as the fastest land animal alivecould also give Wyoming tourism a huge boost.

Wyoming has more pronghorn than any other state. And officially naming them the world’s fastest animal would boost the state’s prestige, he said.

Toward that end, he’s calling for donations to help fund more pronghorn speed tests.

Though the matter of whether cheetahs or pronghorn are the fastest remains unsettled, “we intend to refine our methods and continue our efforts,” Gearhart said.

“We’ve already discovered new technology that would allow us to collect more data over a longer period of time,” he added.

That’s a device called the “Lotek Activity Logger,” he said.

It can collect “small-scale movement data, including acceleration, and it can have an expected life of many months to years," Gearhart added.

The activity loggers might provide top-speed data. And they can also track pronghorns’ movements across great time and distance, providing better information about how they respond to human structures and activity, he said.

Wife of Socialist Spanish Prime Minister Now Facing Corruption Charges, Influence Peddling, Embezzlement – Passport Surrendered

June 20, 2026 | Sundance |

A familiar pattern emerges as thewife of Socialist Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, is indicted on corruption charges and remanded to give up her passport and return to court for check-in every 15 days until trial.

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — A judge on Saturday ordered the wife of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to face trial on charges of influence peddling and corruption, and to surrender her passport.

Investigative judge Juan Carlos Peinado issued the ruling, arguing that Begoña Gómez represented a flight risk.In addition to surrendering her passport, she must also appear before a court every two weeks. A trial date hasn’t been set.

The decision touched off a heated political confrontation, with calls from the opposition for Sanchez’s Socialist government to resign.

Gómez is accused of using her position to influence government contracts given to a group of technology companies. The judge also accused her of the misuse of public funds in the hiring of a consultant, and the inappropriate use of software while she was a professor at a public university.

Gómez has denied any wrongdoing.Sánchez has called the case against her part of a smear campaign by conservative political opponents to topple his left-wing government, which has been in power since 2018.

Peinado said that a businessman who allegedly benefited from the government contracts and the consultant that worked for Gómez will also stand trial. (read more)

It is factual that almost every socialist politician is eventually involved in influence peddling, fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud, embezzlement and corruption.

(Sanchez is the one condemning Trump from going to war with Iran, imo he will be next, the EU knows the corruption, they don’t care. Plus the family is involved in Mexico corruption)

Trump -v- Meloni

June 20, 2026 | Sundance |

On the heels of the G7 in France, U.S. PresidentTrump and Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni have been engaged in a geopolitical spat.

The core of the issue centers on Italy’s refusal to allow the U.S. military to conduct flight operations for the conflict against Iran from U.S. airbases in Italy. President Trump, Vice-President Vance, Secretary of State Rubio and Secretary Hegseth have all remarked on their disappointment with Italy and Spain that has led to a full review of U.S. NATO operations in Europe.

The issue became personal at the G7 when President Trump ignored Meloni’s repeated attempts to repair the friction. President Trump was no longer tolerating the two-faced approach. Actions speak louder than words.

Understanding, a very specific image sensitivity Prime Minister Meloni carries, President Trump stated, “Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni asked, over and over, for a picture with me during the G-7 meeting in France. She is doing poorly in Italy with her level of popularity, possibly because she turned down the United States of America, a Country that truly loves and protects Italy, when it came to denying Iran from obtaining or developing a Nuclear Weapon (But so did NATO, for that matter!). She wouldn’t even let us use Italy’s landing strips or runways, a great logistical inconvenience, and this despite the fact the U.S. contributes hundreds of Billions of Dollars a year to protect Italy, and other “so-called” NATO Allies. Now, after the United States defeated Iran militarily, she wants to be friends again in order to get her “numbers up.” No thanks!!!~ President DJT

Meloni then hit back with: “these constant, unprovoked attacks are senseless. As for my popularity, being your friend certainly has not helped it, nor does it depend on my relationship with you. My popularity depends on my ability to defend Italy’s national interest, and that is exactly what I have always done,” Meloni said in a post on Instagram.She added that “in any case, my popularity is none of your concern. I suggest you focus on yours.” {source}

Utah Hunting Guide Accused Of Poaching Also Caught Shooting At Cows With Bow

Mark Heinz

While investigating an Utah hunting guide for poaching a deer, wildlife officials came across a video of him shooting at cows with a bow. “It’s appalling,” says a Rock Springs bowhunter. “That sort of outfitter would never get a license in Wyoming."

While investigating a poaching case against an Utah hunting guide, wildlife officials found a video on his cellphone showing him shooting a compound bow at cattle.

In the video, one of the cows jumps after he releases an arrow, as if it might have been struck. The condition of the cattle remains “unknown,” Chase Pili, captain of administrative services for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR), told Cowboy State Daily.

Pili said he wasn’t sure when the video — which was released Friday by the DWR — was taken, but charges were filed in the case in February.

DWR didn’t release the name of the man, who was convicted of attempted destruction of wildlife.

The case was filed in the 6th District Court of Garfield County, Utah. The clerk of court could not be reached for comment.

The manwas under investigation for allegedly poaching a deer, DWR reported. Investigators executed a search warrant on his cellphone and discovered a video of him shooting at cattle.

“In addition to significant legal fees, thesuspect now faces a long-term suspension of both his hunting and guiding licenses,” the agency says.

‘It’s Appalling’

Thevideo depicts next-level unethical behavior, archery hunter Steve Martin of Rock Springs told Cowboy State Daily.

“It’s appalling, and as a bowhunter, it’s even worse,”said Martin, who represents Bowhunters of Wyoming. “The public will think we’re just out there shooting arrows at everything and that’s not good."

Martin said he’s unaware of any such incidents happening in Wyoming.

“My hope is that would never happen in Wyoming, because that sort of outfitter would never get a license in Wyoming,” he said.

‘I Have Seen Some Of It’

Mark Eisele, a Cheyenne-area rancher and former president of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, saidcattle abuse is rare in Wyoming.

“I have seen some of it,” he said. “It’s been a little better more recently.”

Most of the cases he’s aware of didn’t seem to involve hunters; rather, they involved people who took their opposition to cattle grazing on public land to extremes.

“At the height of it, when activists were raising a fuss,we had cattle shot alongside the road,” he said. “We’ve had cases where people rammed into cattle with their vehicles and broke the cattle’s legs."

There were also instances of vandalism, such as fences being cut or holes shot in water tanks, Eisele said, adding that things have calmed down considerably.

“I think some of the activists feel that maybe cattle on public lands are a good thing,” he said.

‘Disregard For Life’

Eisele said that most hunters are well-behaved.

“They almost always ask for permission for access, and we almost always grant it,” he said.

The behavior depicted in the video is an anomaly, Eisele added.

“Some people do it because they want to watch something die,” he said.“That just blatant. That’s just disregard for property and disregard for life.”(I lived in Montana, there are rarely nut cases but there are some really creepy people, usually with a seemingly inborn family)

Careless Shooting

Evanston-area rancher Vance Broadbent told Cowboy State Daily that he hasn’t had problems with his cattle being shot.

“I haven’t experienced anything like that here,” Broadbent said. "We coordinate with an outfitter, so hunters on our property have a guide with them and they are monitored closely."

Shooting cattle is a rarity in Wyoming, Jim Magagna, executive vice president of the Wyoming Stock Growers Association, told Cowboy State Daily.

“We do get occasional reports of it,” he said.

“It’s not so much formal hunters as it is people out target practicing and maybe hitting a cow by being careless,” Magagna said.

(I’ve seen pathetic hunters in Montana shooting at baby buffalo’s with their mothers. It was sickening, they were just grazing.)

‘F*cking Liars!’ Bill Maher Lashes Out at His Own Audience After He Trashes Obama Presidential Library

Tommy ChristopherJun 20th, 2026, 1:45 pm

Comedian andpundit Bill Maher lashed out at his audience when they undermined his rant trashing the Barack Obama Presidential Center with an ill-timed round of applause.

On Friday night’s edition of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, the interview guest was creator, writer, and director of the HBO Original series “Euphoria,” Sam Levinson.

The panel guests were Rep. Ro Khanna, Democratic congressman representing California’s Silicon Valley, member of the House Oversight and House Armed Services Committees, and author of “Dignity in a Digital Age: Making Tech Work for All of Us”; and Jonathan Martin, Politico’s senior political columnist and host of the podcast “On The Road with Jonathan Martin.”

Maher wrapped up the panel segment by getting his guests to explain the Obama Center to him, and calling his audience “f*cking liars” when they applauded to indicate they planned to visit the new library:

BILL MAHER: But you guys were both at the Obama Library. Do we have a picture of the Obama library? Because it looks like something aliens built in Dubai. I like it. Why do it cost $850 million? I don’t understand why progressives like this. Couldn’t that money be better spent on something else? Who’s going to go to this? Why do we need a president?

POLITICO’S JONATHAN MARTIN: Yeah, Ro, what do you think?

BILL MAHER:Why does anyone need a presidential library? These monuments to somebody’s ego out of office. Are you, anybody here in this audience planning to go the Obama presidential library?

(APPLAUSE)

POLITICO’S JONATHAN MARTIN: There you go.

BILL MAHER: Really? What a bunch of f*cking liars you are! You’re not going to the Obama library!

REP. RO KHANNA (D-CA): At a time that Elon Musk is talking about sending people to Mars, you’re telling me that spending up to a billion dollars, one billion dollars on commemorating the first and only African American who’s ever been president isn’t worth it?

BILL MAHER:First of all, we don’t need that building to do that. That’s in our hearts and minds. That already happened.

REP. RO KHANNA (D-CA): But this is to inspire people. You know, Michelle Obama gave one of the greatest speeches. I’m telling you, don’t listen to me, just listen to her five minutes, and here’s what she said.

Racism was hurled at Barack Obama. Insults were hurled by Barack Obama, and he never lost his cool. He never gave into a temper, and she showed that hope and patience and aspiration can overcome that.

BILL MAHER: What does that have to do with the building?

REP. RO KHANNA (D-CA): The story, the building tells that story.

BILL MAHER:You didn’t know that story without the building? Like, unless you go to the building, like Obama, who was he again?

REP. RO KHANNA (D-CA):Well, you know the Center for Education. You know the Center for Education?

BILL MAHER: Okay, but it’s not that $850 million versus going to Mars. I don’t want to go to Mars either. It’s $840 million going to the real causes of people who really need it. That’s the money I’m talking about. You know, we spend money on a lot of frivolous sh*t. I’m just saying, you can’t be a hypocrite about it.

REP. RO KHANNA (D-CA): I don’t think most presidents need libraries. I do think that Obama’s story is unique. I’m biased. I work for him. But it’s a unique story of telling the possibility in this country of someone who had no shot.

You know when I was in law school, when I interned, they said to me, Ro, you’re Indian American. You’re of Hindu faith. Go to the Capitol because you’ll never get elected to anything. That’s what I heard. And then Barack Obama happened, and he changed the direction of this nation for millions of people.

BILL MAHER: Again. Nothing to do with the building, but thank you.

Zelensky ‘acting like Mr. Bean on crack,’ US Treasury chief reportedly said

Scott Bessent urged President Trumpnot to host the “special-needs child” at the White House, according to a book by NYT reporters

Published 20 Jun, 2026 22:24

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who had negotiated a much-touted rare earth minerals deal with Kiev, was reportedly worried that “little f**ker” Vladimir Zelensky would mess up the signing ceremonyin the Oval Office, according to a new book by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan.

The infamous confrontation last year took place as the Ukrainian leader sat down with President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance to finalize a deal granting the US access to Ukraine’s mineral resources.

The televised press conference took a nasty turn when Zelenskycriticized Trump’s efforts to mediate a settlement with Moscow rather than increase military support for Kiev.

“I’ve dealt with this little fucker,” Bessent, who was present in the room, told his associates, according to excerpts published by the Guardian. “He’s tricky. He’s like the special-needs child for the Europeans. And he’s acting like Mr. Bean on crack.”

The Treasury secretary had spent weeks preparing the deal andhad traveled to Kiev, where he allegedly engaged in his own shouting match with Zelensky over the “awful” Ukrainian draft, at one point telling him: “What the f**k do you want to do?”

Several other Trump aides had also been worried about a potential Oval Office scandal, with then-National SecurityAdviser Mike Waltz desperately urging Zelensky to at least “come wearing a suit.”

Zelensky was eventually “asked to leave” the White House, while the deal was signed without much fanfare two months later. Zelensky, who has since somewhat mended ties during several meetings with Trumpand even started wearing a custom all-black, military-hybrid suit jacket, was nevertheless still reeling from the altercation almost a year later, according to Politico.

(I like and respect Bessent more than ever before!!!)
