Study Suggests Ozempic Makes Users Docile, Social Engineers Excited About Applications

“There’s always soma to calm your anger, to reconcile you to your enemies, to make you patient and long-suffering. In the past you could only accomplish these things by making a great effort and after years of hard moral training. Now, you swallow two or three half-gramme tablets, and there you are. Anybody can be virtuous now. You can carry at least half your morality about in a bottle. Christianity without tears—that’s what soma is.”

-Aldous Huxley, Brave New World

(Editor’s note: My initial impulse was to run with the headline “Ozempic Turns Users Into Limp-Wristed Beta-Cucks“ or something to that effect, but I refrained for the sake of appearing more like a serious journalist.)

GLP-1 agonists, such as Ozempic and Wegovy, to add to their voluminous and growing list of weird and sometimes fatal side effects, might apparently tamp down violent tendencies that result from impulse.

Muhammad Tops Baby Boys' Names In England And Wales For Third Straight Year

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/muhammad-tops-baby-boys-names-england-and-wales-third-straight-year

Official Office for National Statistics (ONS) data released today shows Muhammad - including variant spellings - has once again claimed the top spot as the most popular name for newborn boys in England and Wales.

This marks the third consecutive year Muhammad has led the boys' chart, continuing a trend that has drawn significant public attention and debate about demographic changes.

The ONS figures for 2025 births confirm Muhammad's dominant position. In previous years, when spellings are combined, it has frequently outranked traditional English names like Oliver and Noah.

Commentators have linked the sustained popularity to the UK's growing Muslim population, which now makes up a significant and increasing share of births in many areas.

Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe responded strongly to the news, posting: “Muhammad has comfortably topped the list for the most popular boy name for the third year running. You can call me Islamophobic, I really don’t care… This is awful and demonstrates the rapidly changing demographics of our country.” Continue…

Cuba Plunges Into Second Island-Wide Blackout As Communist System Unravels

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/cuba-plunges-second-island-wide-blackout-communist-system-unravelsv

Cuba suffered its second nationwide blackout in a matter of days late Friday, another sign that the communist-controlled island is sliding deeper into economic collapse amid tightening US sanctions and renewed pressure from the Trump administration.

Havana blames US "gunboat diplomacy" and the financial sanctions for its economic demise, but the roots of the crisis are decades of communist rule, chronic underinvestment, widespread economic mismanagement and a crumbling power grid.

Yet America's Democratic Party is increasingly embracing socialism and communist ideology, a deeply misguided political messaging campaign at a time when Cuba is offering a real-world case study in how such systems repeatedly fail, leaving economic ruin, institutional decay and human suffering in their aftermath. Leftists Celebrate Murder Of Conservative British Politician

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/leftists-celebrate-murder-conservative-british-politician

The savage killing of 78-year-old Reform UK spokeswoman Ann Widdecombe has unleashed a torrent of vile celebration from left-wing activists, revealing the depths of ideological hatred among the left in the UK.

Widdecombe, the outspoken former Conservative MP and prisons minister, was found dead with serious injuries at her Dartmoor home, prompting an immediate murder investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police.

Police keenly informed the public that a 26-year-old white British man has been arrested on suspicion of the crime. The incident is not being treated as terrorism, but the public reaction - particularly from leftist corners - has shocked many and exposed a chilling tolerance for violence against political opponents. Afghan Asylum Seeker Walks Free After Sexually Assaulting Multiple Young Girls At German Pool

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/afghan-asylum-seeker-walks-free-after-sexually-assaulting-multiple-young-girls-german

A 21-year-old Afghan asylum seeker stands accused of sexually assaulting at least four girls between the ages of 12 and 14 at the Bud Spencer outdoor pool in Schwäbisch Gmünd, southwestern Germany.

According to police accounts detailed in German media coverage, the suspect touched the victims on their buttocks or thighs and attempted to pull down their bikini bottoms. In one instance he reportedly tried to penetrate a girl's intimate area with his fingers. The girls resisted and fought him off before he stopped.

Police reports confirm the attacks occurred in the adventure pool area, yet an arrest warrant was suspended under limited conditions that do little to shield the public from further risk.

Authorities have indicated they do not rule out additional victims and continue to seek witnesses. The suspect was arrested, but a judge suspended the arrest warrant subject to conditions, including a ban on entering public swimming pools. Why Trump Is Right To Warn Americans About Communism

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/why-trump-right-warn-americans-about-communism

Early this month, U.S. President Donald Trump delivered increasingly forceful warnings about what he sees as a growing communist threat within the United States.

During what will be his final years in office, Trump appears more determined than ever to defend the principles of American liberty against the influence of Marxist ideas. Employing rhetoric reminiscent of the Cold War, he declared on July 3: “There is now a resurgence of the communist menace in our land.”

On Independence Day, the president reinforced his message, stating:

“The communist system is the opposite of the American system, and the communist system has never worked.

“Our warriors did not fight communism on battlefields across the world, only to have that menace rear its ugly head right back here in America. We’re not going to let it happen. It’s like a cancer—you’ve got to cut it out, you’ve got to cut it out fast.”

Predictably, Trump’s remarks were greeted with widespread cynicism by political opponents and media pundits. For decades, establishment intellectuals have dismissed concerns about communism as misguided rhetoric designed only to gin up a public reaction. Some implied that Trump was stoking ideological division and indiscriminately branding progressives, social democrats and advocates of government intervention as communists. Others argued that there is no significant communist movement in America and that the real threat to democracy is the president himself. Continue…

China Shuts The Helium Valve As Qatar Outage Deepens Global Supply Squeeze

https://www.zerohedge.com/commodities/china-shuts-helium-valve-qatar-outage-deepens-global-supply-squeeze

China has abruptly banned helium exports, a key component in semiconductors, which adds yet another serious constraint to a global market already reeling from the loss of production in Qatar.

In a two-sentence Friday announcement, China's Ministry of Commerce and General Administration of Customs said helium covered by customs code 2804290010 was subject to a temporary prohibition on exports, effective immediately. The agencies cited China's Foreign Trade Law but provided no explanation, expiration date, transition period or exemptions. Any future adjustments, they said, would be announced separately. See the official Chinese government announcement.

The decision is more restrictive than an export-licensing requirement. It appears to prevent covered shipments to all foreign destinations, regardless of buyer or intended use. The announcement does not explain how customs officials will treat previously signed contracts, cargo awaiting departure or helium originally imported into China and subsequently repackaged for re-export.

Nor does it carve out exceptions for hospitals, scientific laboratories, semiconductor manufacturers or humanitarian users.

The physical volume removed from the international market may be relatively small. China accounted for an average of 5 percent of U.S. helium imports between 2021 and 2024, compared with 47 percent from Canada, 28 percent from Qatar and 10 percent from Algeria, according to the U.S. Geological Survey's 2026 helium commodity summary - but the significance of the move lies in its timing. Turkey Seeks Moscow Permission To Offload S-400s, Paving Way For US F-35 Deal

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/turkey-seeks-moscow-permission-offload-s-400s-paving-way-us-f-35-deal

In a move that could break a years-long defense procurement deadlock with Washington, Turkey is finalizing the sale of its Russian S-400 air defense systems to Gulf states, potentially clearing the way for Ankara to buy US F-35 fighter jets, Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reports Friday.

For Ankara, offloading the Russian hardware resolves a years-long costly diplomatic and military bottleneck and controversy - a situation which dramatically improved after President Trump gave a clear greenlight during the annual NATO summit in Ankara this week.

But apparently it needs Moscow's formal permission before doing this, as Bloomberg reports, "Turkey is seeking Russia's consent to transfer air defense systems it bought from Moscow to a third country, an effort aimed at clearing the way for the purchase of US-made F-35 fighter jets." Continue…

Russia's New Bullets Disintegrate Into 3 Mid-Flight, Can Hit High-Speed Drones

https://www.zerohedge.com/military/russias-new-rifle-calibre-bullets-disintegrate-3-mid-flight-can-hit-high-speed-drones

A Russian company has developed a new type of rifle bullets that split into three mid-flight, according to reports. This can help increase hit probability against high-speed drones.

Developed by Russia's Rostec, these multi-bullet "Mnogotochie" rounds can successfully hit drones. Reports have claimed that the first batches of these bullets have been delivered to Russian troops.

Effective option for combating drones

Vysokotochka, a subsidiary of Rostec, has developed "Mnogotochie". These bullets reportedly offer high-density fire for combating drones.

Bekkhan Ozdoyev, industrial director of Rostec's Armament Cluster, had earlier revealed that the Mnogotochie cartridges for rifled automatic weapons provide an effective option for combating drones. These are essentially standard 5.45x39mm and 7.62x39mm cartridges, but with a special bullet that splits into three parts upon exiting the barrel. This provides high-density fire. This means that shooting down a small drone with three bullets at once is much easier than with one.

Rostech previously also revealed that the 5.45x39mm caliber CT 226 and 7.62x54mm caliber CT 228 cartridges contain a three-element bullet that disintegrates in flight. Continue…

Myth Busted: U.S. Much Safer Than Many Peer Nations

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/mythbuster-us-much-safer-many-peer-nations

Conventional wisdom holds that the United States is the most violent and dangerous nation in the developed world. This dark view is frequently invoked by conservatives to demand stronger penalties for crimes and by progressives to argue for stronger gun laws.

At the same time, other nations point to crime as an Achilles heel of the American system. These include two peer nations with some of the most restrictive gun laws in the world - Australia and Canada. In 2025, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported that "the U.S. generally sees higher violent crime rates than many other countries." Last year, the Canadian Press similarly reported that "the number of police-reported violent crimes for every 100,000 people continue to be higher in the United States than in Canada."

The data, however, undercuts this narrative. While the United States still leads in some categories, on the whole it has significantly less violent crime per capita than those two nations.

Regarding homicide, the most heinous crime of all, it's true that in 2025, the U.S. murder rate was about four per 100,000 people - roughly twice Australia's and Canada's 2024 homicide rate. Yet it's also true that homicides account for only a tiny fraction of violent crime. In 2024, homicides represented just 0.21% of violent crimes in the U.S., based on National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) estimates of rape/sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, and simple assault. Murder comprises an even smaller fraction of crimes in Australia and Canada. Continue…

Mali Govt Says Al-Qaeda Extremists In Region Receive Training, Drones From Ukraine

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/mali-govt-says-al-qaeda-extremists-region-receive-training-drones-ukraine

The Malian government announced on Thursday that militant groups with links to Al-Qaeda carrying out terror attacks in the country were trained and armed by Ukrainian specialists.

Fousseynou Ouattara, Vice President of the Defense Commission of Mali's Transitional Council, said authorities identified militants who received training in Ukraine to carry out operations using kamikaze drones produced by Kiev. "These young people are known, we have now added them to our lists, and we have their names," Ouattara said.

The militants fighting the Malian government belong to a Tuareg-led separatist group, the Azawad Liberation Front (ALF), and Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen (JNIM), an extremist group linked to Al-Qaeda.

He added that the militant groups are receiving fighters from Algeria, Mauritania, and Libya, as well as training from members of the French Foreign Legion and Ukrainian instructors.

France is allegedly supporting the ALF and JNIM following the Malian government's removal of French troops in 2022. In their place, private military contractors from Russia's Wagner Group were deployed.

After a May 2021 coup in Mali, the country's military junta officially demanded that France withdraw its troops "without delay." French troops had been present in Mali for nine years, allegedly to fight the Al-Qaeda-linked insurgency. Continue…

Durov Hauled In For Questioning Again In Paris, Telegram Blasts Case: 'Still No Evidence'

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/durov-hauled-questioning-again-paris-telegram-blasts-case-still-no-evidence

As the high-stakes criminal investigation into Telegram nears its second year with no resolution in sight, French authorities have again summoned Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov for questioning. Durov spent around six hours being questioned at the Paris Judicial Tribunal on Wednesday, local media reported, citing law enforcement sources. He's allowed to travel internationally, and to live at his home in Dubai - though he's agreed specific judicial supervision rules, part of which is to periodically return to France when summoned.

It marked the fourth time the tech entrepreneur has been interrogated as part of the ongoing investigation, stretching back to his initial arrest in August 2024 at a Paris airport. He was soon after indicted on a dozen assorted charges ranging from complicity in illicit platform activity to non-cooperation with state authorities.

Durov’s legal team confirmed the questioning to AFP, slamming the lack of progress by French prosecutors, decrying that "almost two years after the indictment of Pavel Durov, there is still no evidence to establish the validity of the charges." Continue…

Replica mosque torched in Northern Ireland bonfire (VIDEOS)

https://www.rt.com/news/642859-northern-ireland-mosque-bonfire/

Northern Irish loyalists have burned a replica mosque atop a bonfire before police could intervene to dismantle the scene. The incident, which took place four weeks after devastating race riots in Belfast, has been condemned by human rights groups.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) spokesperson said that a “significant and complex policing operation” to dismantle the “hate display” was underway by the time the bonfire in Moygashel, around 50 kilometers west of Belfast, was lit. The tower of shipping pallets, adorned with anti-Islam flags, was set ablaze on Thursday night.

The bonfire was originally due to be lit on the eve of July 12, when Northern Ireland’s Protestant loyalists – who wish to remain part of the United Kingdom – celebrate the victory of Protestant King William III over Catholic King James II at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690.

Unionists marking the 12th with bonfires typically burn Irish tricolors and other images of Catholicism and Irish nationalism. In recent years, however, the Moygashel bonfire included effigies of migrants in small boats last year, and a replica police car in 2024. Continue…

Explosive diarrhea cases increase as mysterious parasitic outbreak spreads across US

https://thepostmillennial.com/explosive-diarrhea-cases-increase-as-mysterious-parasitic-outbreak-spreads-across-us

A mysterious parasite outbreak that can trigger severe, "explosive" diarrhea is rapidly expanding across the United States, with Michigan emerging as the hardest-hit state after reported cases quadrupled in less than a week.

Michigan health officials reported 681 confirmed cyclosporiasis cases as of Monday, up dramatically from 170 cases just days earlier. The surge comes as federal investigators continue searching for the source of the outbreak, which has now been identified in at least 17 states. The Post Millennial reported last week that the illness is caused by Cyclospora cayetanensis, a microscopic parasite typically spread through contaminated fresh produce or water. Despite the spike in infections, the CDC says investigators have not linked the outbreak to a common food source, complicating efforts to contain it.

New York has reported 120 cases since May 1, while Texas has confirmed 48 infections. Illinois, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Colorado, Ohio, Wisconsin, Georgia, Louisiana, Alaska and Tennessee have also reported cases. The CDC's most recent nationwide update, released in mid-June, documented 145 cases across 17 states, but those figures do not include Michigan's recent surge, suggesting the true national total is now substantially higher. At least 20 people had been hospitalized, though no deaths have been reported.

Symptoms range from mild illness to debilitating gastrointestinal distress. Patients can experience watery diarrhea, severe abdominal cramping, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and low-grade fever. Health officials say some of the most severe cases involve frequent bouts of "explosive" diarrhea that can lead to dangerous dehydration, particularly among young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Pittsburgh church destroyed in massive three-alarm fire, police arrest man at scene

https://thepostmillennial.com/pittsburgh-church-destroyed-in-massive-three-alarm-fire-police-arrest-man-at-scene

A vacant church overlooking Pittsburgh's Mount Washington neighborhood was heavily damaged Tuesday evening after a fast-moving three-alarm fire tore through the structure, ultimately causing its roof to collapse as firefighters battled the blaze.

Emergency dispatchers received reports of the fire shortly after 6 pm at the former Grandview United Presbyterian Church on Grandview Avenue. Fire crews arrived within four minutes but encountered an increasingly complex blaze that spread rapidly through the aging building.

Assistant Fire Chief Mathew Davis said the structure itself made the firefighting effort especially difficult. "One of the big things is the size of the structure and the complexity of the structure. So multiple floors, different angles, different walls. Over the years, buildings change, so we were chasing fire throughout the building. As we were finding things, more fire would pop up behind us." Canadian government APOLOGIZES for creating national parks, calls them a 'colonial injustice'

https://thepostmillennial.com/canadian-government-apologizes-for-creating-national-parks-calls-them-a-colonial-injustice

The country of Canada has apologized for the system of national parks that it has developed, with the national parks agency saying that the existence of the parks themselves represents "colonial injustice" against those who are Indigenous.

The internal report known as the Evaluation of the Indigenous Guardians Initiative Internal Review, stated, “For millennia Indigenous people have cultivated reciprocal relationships with land, water and ice guided by cultural practices, values and knowledge systems," as reported by the Toronto Sun.

"Beginning in the 19th century the development of national parks and protected areas in Canada disrupted these relationships through exclusion and colonial injustices," the report added.

“In establishing national parks, Indigenous people were forcibly removed from their homes, denied access to traditional territories and prohibited from hunting and harvesting on park lands,” the report added. The document was dated 2024 and was released on June 22.

Banff National Park, the country's first national park, was established in 1885. Although it was originally named the Rocky Mountains Park, it was established in order to protect thermal springs found in the park. It was later named Banff in 1930 when the National Parks Act was passed.

The report added, “Stoney Nakoda were prevented from using the land as in past ways. These laws, practices and policies caused historic and ongoing harm for Indigenous communities. They eroded Indigenous systems.”

Parks Canada was established by the Canadian government in 1911 and was called the Dominion Parks Branch at the time. The organization was tasked with taking care of a small number of parks and reserves.

The report added, “Parks Canada now acknowledges this harmful historical legacy and its impact on Indigenous language, culture, laws and governance systems."

More than one in five Atlantic Canadians say a family member has left the region in the past five years because they could not find suitable work, according to new federal research that also found widespread pessimism about the region's long-term economic prospects.

Blacklock's Reporter says the survey, commissioned by the federally appointed Atlantic Economic Panel, found 21% of respondents had a relative move away from Atlantic Canada in search of employment.

The highest rate was recorded in Newfoundland and Labrador at 25%, followed by Nova Scotia at 21%, New Brunswick at 20% and Prince Edward Island at 12%.

When asked about the region's future prosperity, only 41% of respondents believed Atlantic Canada would eventually become about as prosperous as the rest of the country, while 44% said it would remain less prosperous.

Opinion was also divided on employment opportunities for younger people. While 45% agreed there are growing job opportunities for young people in Atlantic Canada, 47% disagreed.

Respondents were similarly split over the region's economic independence. Half said they were not confident Atlantic Canada could grow its economy and rely less on equalization payments in the future, compared with 47% who expressed confidence. Another 3% had no opinion. Continue…

California Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff is pushing for Quebec to resume importing and allowing the sale of American wine, as U.S. political pushback against several provincial restrictions on selling U.S. alcohol grows.

Schiff posted a comment on an article regarding a letter he wrote to Quebec Premier Christine Fréchette in late June urging the province to resume selling California wine.

“Canada’s boycott of California wine is causing devastating harm to winegrowers,” Schiff posted July 9 on X.

“I’m urging the Canadian government to recognize that California doesn’t agree with these tariff wars, to lift these restrictions, and increase consumer options to strengthen both our economies.”

Canada was the top destination for American wine and accounted for 36 percent, or US$460 million worth, of all American wine exports in 2024, according to the California-based Wine Institute.

Supreme Court Restores Mandatory Minimum Sentence for Buying Sexual Services From Minors

The Supreme Court of Canada has restored a mandatory minimum sentence for individuals convicted of communicating to obtain, or attempting to obtain, sexual services from a person under the age of 18.

The 7-2 decision, released July 10, restores six months as the mandatory minimum sentence.

The ruling overturns a May 2024 decision by the Quebec Court of Appeal that found the mandatory minimum sentence for the crime was unconstitutional under Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms, saying could amount to cruel and unusual punishment.

The appeal stemmed from the case of 61-year-old Mario Denis, who was convicted of communicating online to obtain sexual services from someone he believed was a girl under the age of 18.

Denis had responded to an online ad for an underage escort on a website “known for offering sexual services from children,” according to court documents.

Top 20 Percent of Canadian Earners Pay More Than Half of Nation’s Taxes: Study

The top 20 percent of income-earning families in Canada contribute nearly two-thirds of the country’s personal income taxes and more than half of total tax revenue, a new study suggests.

The highest income-generating households contribute 65.3 percent of the total personal income taxes and 58.3 percent of all taxes, while earning 49.5 percent of the total family income in Canada, according to a newly published report by the Fraser Institute.

Despite this, the report authors wrote that there is a “common misperception” in Canada that top income earners do not pay their fair share of taxes. They argued that assessing “fairness” requires examining the relationship between the share of income earned by a group and the share of total taxes it contributes. Continue…

US, Canada Strike Deal to Open Gordie Howe International Bridge

https://www.theepochtimes.com/world/us-canada-strike-deal-to-open-gordie-howe-international-bridge-6060292?ea_src=ca-frontpage&ea_med=section-1

Canada and the United States agreed on July 10 to open the Gordie Howe International Bridge, which spans the border between Detroit in the U.S. state of Michigan and Windsor in Ontario, Canada.

The bridge will open for public use on July 27 with support from the U.S. government. Canada’s Ministry of Infrastructure said the six-lane crossing will boost North American supply chains, support manufacturing, and improve the movement of essential goods.

The ministry said the two nations reached an agreement that includes “a series of cooperative measures focused on toll governance and transparency, as well as investments in the region, including through the establishment of a 15-year economic development fund tied to a portion of profits from bridge operations.”

The Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, a Canadian federal Crown corporation that owns the Gordie Howe Bridge, will work with the U.S. government on toll-rate adjustments, including some non-market-related toll changes that require concurrence, according to the ministry. Continue…

Why the US Charged Indian Gangsters for an Assassination on Canadian Soil, and Not the RCMP

https://www.theepochtimes.com/world/why-the-us-charged-indian-gangsters-for-an-assassination-on-canadian-soil-and-not-the-rcmp-6060225?ea_src=ca-frontpage&ea_med=section-1

Law enforcement authorities in multiple jurisdictions cracked down this week on India-based criminal organizations, including the United States laying charges in connection with an assassination carried out in British Columbia.

The United States’s decision to prosecute the case instead of Canada can be explained by several factors, including differences in the two countries’ laws and the broader reach of U.S. prosecutors.

The U.S. Department of Justice alleges that crime boss Lawrence Bishnoi and his lieutenant, Satinderjeet Singh, also known as “Goldy Brar,” ordered the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was shot dead outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, B.C., on June 18, 2023.

Nijjar was a Sikh separatist leader who advocated for the creation of Khalistan, a proposed independent Sikh homeland to be carved out of India’s Punjab region.

The RCMP has charged four people accused of carrying out the assassination and has participated in the latest operation targeting Indian organized crime, but it has not charged Bishnoi or Brar.

The U.S. complaint mentions four unnamed co-conspirators who had agreed to carry out the assassination, with Bishnoi allegedly providing one of them with a photograph and multiple addresses for Nijjar. Continue…

Military left decision about sexual assault charge to commander with friendly ties to alleged assailant

https://nationalpost.com/public-service/defence-watch/officer-x-friendly-ties/wcm/37962b43-c181-45f0-8cba-1c50cae54125

Military police concluded there was enough evidence to lay a sex assault charge against an individual known as “Officer X,” but the decision was left to a navy commander with friendly ties to the alleged assailant, according to documents obtained by the Ottawa Citizen.

That commander decided not to lay charges, according to the records.

The Ottawa Citizen originally broke the story about Officer X in March 2024, citing an internal Department of National Defence report and police investigations alleging multiple incidents of sexual misconduct dating back as far as 2006.

Shortly after, Navy Lt. Patrick White testified before a Commons defence committee about what he said were Royal Canadian Navy attempts to cover up the actions of the man referred to in military records only as “Officer X” or “Lt. (N) X.” Continue…

Court rules Ontario violated Charter by censoring Covid criticism on billboard

The Ontario government tried to silence a citizen for criticizing its Covid-19 response. Now a court has ruled it broke the Constitution.

The Ontario Divisional Court has found the Ontario Ministry of Transportation violated the Charter rights of George Katerberg by preventing him from displaying a political billboard criticizing public officials over their handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Katerberg was represented by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF), whose constitutional lawyer Chris Fleury successfully argued that the Ministry's actions violated section 2(b) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which protects freedom of expression.

Katerberg's billboard, erected along Highway 17 near Thessalon, featured photographs of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Premier Doug Ford, former Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam and other officials above the messages, "They knowingly lied about safety and stopping transmission" and "Canadians demand accountability." JUSTICE WATCH: B.C. Supreme Court Justice Kevin Loo gives temporary resident house arrest after sexual assault guilty plea

https://www.rebelnews.com/justice_watch_b_c_supreme_court_justice_kevin_loo_gives_temporary_resident_house_arrest_after_sexual_assault_guilty_plea

A temporary resident from India who admitted forcing a woman into sexual acts has been sentenced to 170 days of house arrest followed by 18 months of probation after B.C. Supreme Court Justice Kevin Loo accepted a joint sentencing submission from Crown and defence lawyers.

Karandeep Singh, 24, pleaded guilty on June 30 to sexually assaulting a woman in Prince George on June 13, 2024.

According to an agreed statement of facts read in court, Singh met the woman through her cousin the month before the assault. On the day of the offence, the woman believed she had been communicating with Singh through Snapchat to arrange a bonfire at West Lake Provincial Park. Singh later claimed it had actually been a friend using his account.

Instead of going to the park, the group went to a basement suite near Ospika Boulevard. Court heard Singh's friend brought the woman into a bedroom while Singh remained outside, where he became "turned on and excited." After his friend left the room, Singh entered, immediately removed his pants and underwear, and forced the woman into sexual acts.

Afterward, Singh drove the woman and her cousin away from the residence. Continue…
