At least 27 people have been killed and more than 60 injured after a devastating fire tore through a popular bar and restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Firefighters were called to Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district shortly after midnight, where they found patrons desperately trying to escape through the building’s front entrance as flames engulfed the venue.

Videos shared on social media show a huge fireball erupting from the entrance as panicked customers flee through the flames.

Some people can be seen collapsing outside, while at least two individuals appear to have caught fire during their escape.

Earlier this month, the FBI assigned 260 investigative analysts to assist with its ongoing investigation into the fraud that took place in Fulton County, Georgia, during the 2020 presidential election.

According to an internal FBI memorandum, the analysts were tasked with completing approximately 708 records checks by July 17th.

Russian and Chinese warships have conducted live-fire drills in the Yellow Sea as part of the annual Joint Sea naval exercises, the Russian Pacific Fleet announced on Monday.

The sea phase of the drills involved vessels from Russia’s Pacific Fleet and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy. The crews practiced countering modern threats, including simulated attacks by drones and unmanned boats.

Over several days, ships from the joint detachment, which included guided missile cruisers, submarines, destroyers, and rescue vessels, used naval artillery and shipboard machine guns to repel a mock attack by unmanned aerial and surface systems. Electronic warfare systems were also used to suppress a simulated mass attack.

Indian sailor missing in ship attack off Oman

An Indian sailor is missing after an attack on a commercial shipping vessel in the Strait of Hormuz area on Saturday.

The Cyprus-flagged GFS Galaxy was attacked off Oman’s northern coast while transiting the Strait of Hormuz as the shaky ceasefire between Iran and the US unravelled. Search operations are continuing for the missing sailor, while 23 crew members were rescued and given medical aid.

“Of the 11 Indian nationals on board, ten have been rescued so far, while one Indian National is reportedly missing,” India’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement. New Delhi condemned the attack, saying the targeting of civilian shipping and infrastructure in the region must end.

In June, three Indian sailors died when US forces enforcing a naval blockade of Iran fired on their vessel, the MT Settebello.

A man accused of robbing a Quebec collectibles store at gunpoint made off with about $30,000 worth of Pokémon cards before calmly thanking those inside as he left, according to the store's owners.

The robbery happened on June 18 at MissingNo. in Saint-Alexis, Quebec, around 60 kilometres northeast of Montreal. Security footage showed a man entering the store carrying what appeared to be a firearm while customers, including a 10-year-old boy, were inside.

“He came inside, so I step up and I went to him, then he showed me a gun, and he tell to everyone to stand up,” co-owner Jean-Francois Hetu said to CTV News.

Rather than demanding cash, the suspect stuffed valuable trading cards into a hockey bag. As he walked out, still armed, he reportedly told those inside, “Thank you. Have a good night.”

Store owners Hetu and Charles Breault Pariseau chased after the suspect with baseball bats, smashing the vehicle's taillights and a passenger-side window as it sped away.

“We wanted the police to recognize the car,” Breault-Pariseau said.

Police arrested Dany El-Aawar roughly two hours later. He has been charged in connection with the robbery as well as several other alleged robberies dating back to April.

Despite the arrest, the stolen merchandise was not recovered.

“He already had the time to take the hockey bag with all the stuff that he stole from us and give them to another person, so we didn’t get our stuff back,” Hetu said.

Following the robbery, the store added tighter security, including controlled entry with a buzzer, a remotely unlocked front door, and additional surveillance cameras. Hetu said he hopes other trading card retailers take similar precautions.

“We’re in 2026, so, right now that game is like this,” he said. “You have to take your responsibility and have protection for your customers.”

Canada's former Prime Minister has a unique idea about how to solve the issue of AI taking over certain jobs — through wealth distribution.

Justin Trudeau, speaking at the CNBC Converge Live conference in Singapore in late April, gave his opinion on what he believes is the best option for professions potentially having their jobs eliminated due to AI.

He says to be able to "support people on the wealth generation without being a part of the wealth generation," there should be higher income taxes on the wealthy.

"The corporate world is going to have to realize that if they don't start stepping up and realizing there is a limit — in terms of how much individual wealth we can get," he stated before an audience.

He goes on to say instead of suffering income loss, if employees' jobs get taken by AI — high income earners should be taxed more to ensure those who make less or are laid off get paid more.

"If you as an accountant are about to be downsized from five days a week to three days a week because of AI, we're still going to be able to pay for five days a week."

"Or we're still going to be able to pay you for seven days a week because there is that much wealth created by AI."

Trudeau claims this "tax base" will cover the income lost to AI — but whether he means to tax both corporations, high income earners, or both more is unknown.

While Trudeau advocates for higher income taxes, and argues that there should be a "limit" to the wealth people earn, Trudeau himself has a net worth that Yahoo News reports is speculated to be around $95 million.

This reportedly comes from a combination of his salary as a former MP and PM, speaking fees, investments, real estate, and his inheritance.

His speaking fees cost $100,000 or more per appearance, as reported by the National Post.

Not to mention Trudeau's MP pension which will be given to him in less than a year when he turns 55, providing him with an annual sum of $141,000.

Trudeau also has a trust fund — which, according to Global News, was worth $1.2 million in 2013.
