Israel Asked Meta To Remove Posts Against Them During The War And Thousands Of Requests Were Approved

This story is getting attention because it touches the biggest question about social media during conflicts.

Who decides what the public gets to see?

According to reporting from The Intercept and internal Meta documents they reviewed, Israel’s government sent requests to Meta to remove content during the recent war, including posts supportive of Iran, criticism of Israel, and footage showing Iranian missile impacts.

Meta approved some of those requests.

This also connects to a larger pattern.

Since October 2023, leaked data showed Meta received Israeli government requests involving more than 90,000 posts, with a reported approval rate around 94 percent.

Many of the requests were connected to Meta’s rules on terrorism, violence, or incitement.

Meta’s position is that government requests are reviewed under its own policies. A request does not automatically mean a post gets removed.

Governments argue they are trying to stop dangerous content.

Critics argue that during a war, definitions of “harmful” content can become very broad and may affect political speech or documentation of events.

The important part is separating two things:

Yes, governments submit takedown requests.

Yes, platforms sometimes remove content.

The bigger question is where the line is between removing harmful material and controlling what people are allowed to see during a conflict.

Microsoft confirms Recycle Bin glitch affecting all supported Windows versions — yes, even the trash needs debugging

Microsoft’s June 2026 Patch Tuesday update shipped with several critical flaws that disrupted the Windows 11 user experience, including BitLocker lockout issues. Now, the company has acknowledged yet another problem.

Update KB5094126 is causing issues across all supported versions of Windows. What's the issue? When you try to delete a file from the Recycle Bin, the confirmation dialog may display the "internal" filename instead of the standard, readable filename. Microsoft has clarified that this glitch is limited to the dialog box itself and does not affect the file or its deletion (via Neowin).

What's more, when checking the list view in the Recycle Bin, you'll notice that the file name is correct. And if you decide to restore the file to your device, its original name remains unaltered.

The issue affects all supported versions of Windows client and server, including:

Client: Windows 11, version 26H1; Windows 11, version 25H2; Windows 11, version 24H2; Windows 11, version 23H2; Windows 10, version 22H2; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016

Server: Windows Server 2025; Windows Server 2022; Windows Server 2019; Windows Server 2016; Windows Server 2012 R2; Windows Server 2012

In the interim, Microsoft is actively working on a permanent fix for the issue, which will likely be delivered to affected users via a future Windows update. However, it is unclear whether Microsoft will ship the fix through the next Patch Tuesday release or an out-of-band update.

Israel says fuck you America!

Netanyahu: Israel will 'keep the security zone in Lebanon as long as is necessary to protect our people'

Speaking as US-Iran nuclear talks opened in Switzerland, the Israeli prime minister said Iran will never obtain nuclear weapons under his leadership, while officials signaled no planned withdrawal from southern Lebanon amid regional tensions

"We established a security zone in Lebanon. And we shall keep it as long as is necessary to protect our people,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday evening as talks between the United States and Iran opened in Switzerland, while Tehran reported they had been “halted due to Trump’s threat.” Netanyahu added at the JNS International Policy Summit that “no matter what happens in the talks, with an agreement or without an agreement, Iran will never have nuclear weapons as long as I am prime minister of Israel.”

The working assumption in Jerusalem is that there is no viability for a deal between the countries because the gaps are too wide. However, Israel does not intend to interfere. Israel was not surprised by the exchange of threats between the U.S. president and the Iranians, but officials in Jerusalem do not believe it will cause the talks to collapse because Iran has too much to lose.

Israel is not willing to carry out withdrawals from Lebanon due to American pressure. However, there is preparation for possible changes and adjustments to the Israel Defense Forces’ presence in southern Lebanon, not as a concession to pressure but in order not to endanger troops. In closed-door discussions, Netanyahu said Israel will preserve operational freedom in southern Lebanon to protect the security of northern residents and to avoid placing soldiers in harm’s way.

A security official addressed the IDF presence along the “yellow line” in southern Lebanon on Sunday evening, saying that “the IDF will remain there as long as there is no peace agreement, for the security of the communities. There will be no withdrawal.”

Another Israeli source said that “there is no American demand for a small or large withdrawal. Since the last round, we have been talking about ‘pilot’ areas where the Lebanese army will be able to demonstrate its ability to make the area free of Hezbollah. This is one of the issues that will be discussed this week in the negotiations that begin Tuesday.” According to the source, “we are supposed to lay out maps and discuss implementation. The pilot will be accompanied by the United States to ensure the Lebanese army succeeds in its mission.”

Meanwhile, Lebanon’s LBCI network reported that “Lebanon was informed by the American side that Israel will carry out limited withdrawals from southern Lebanon as a goodwill gesture ahead of the round of negotiations between the countries on Tuesday.”

Talks begin in Switzerland: Vance and Araghchi in the same room

In his remarks Sunday evening, Netanyahu said: "Can you imagine the United States across the border, you have an army of thousands of terrorists who pellet your cities and your town with rockets and ballistic missiles and killer drones. They kill your soldiers, they kill your citizens, they kill your children. And they threaten them every day. Well, what would America do? Would it say, well, there's nothing we can do? Let's hold our fire? Is that what America would say? No?

“You know damn well what America would do. It would cross the border, create a security zone, kill the terrorists and protect its people until the threat is removed,” he said. “That’s exactly what we are doing.

“We target the terrorists, but there are some civilian casualties in every such war, in every such urban warfare," he continued. "And normally the ratio of combatants to non-combatants killed, non combatants to combatants killed is about 7 to 1, 8 to 1. In Gaza it was much much lower than that, despite all the lies and vilifications aimed at Israel. But I asked our people, our research arm in the Defense Ministry. I said, what is the ratio in Lebanon? And they said to me, today, I just got the document today. Prime Minister, it's 5 to 1. No, not 5 civilians killed for every terrorist, 5 terrorists killed for every civilian that is harmed in the process. 5 to 1. Unheard of. Because no army goes to such lengths like the Israeli army to target terrorists and minimize civilian casualties. We should be commended for it, not condemned. ”

Netanyahu added that “we don't have a war with Lebanon. We have a war with Hezbollah who terrorizes Lebanon and seeks our destruction. And when that proxy of iran is no longer a threat, whether it's dismantled or disarmed, yes, we'll have peace with Lebanon and I look forward to signing it.”

Sharaa rules out Syria intervening in Lebanon after Trump again suggests it fight Hezbollah

‘I’m close to giving it over to Syria,’ US president says of war with Iran-backed terror group; Netanyahu defends buffer zone as Lebanon conflict threatens to derail Iran talks

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa on Sunday ruled out intervening militarily in the Israel-Hezbollah conflict in Lebanon, after US President Donald Trump again suggested Damascus could get involved and expressed frustration with Israel’s fight against the Iran-backed terror group.

Trump’s comments to Fox News on Sunday came as the conflict in Lebanon has threatened to derail US-Iranian negotiations underway in Switzerland. On Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu doubled down on the Israeli military’s need to maintain a buffer zone in southern Lebanon, as the IDF reportedly urged Israel’s political leadership to intensify negotiations with the Lebanese government. The sides are slated to meet again this week.

Trump and US Vice President JD Vance have both repeatedly complained about Israel’s conduct in the Lebanon conflict, portraying it as a possible spoiler of the talks with Iran. Trump lashed out at Hezbollah in a social media post earlier on Sunday, but has chided Israel both for civilian casualties in its Lebanon strikes, and for not defeating Hezbollah quickly enough.

He repeated those sentiments in an interview with Fox News on Sunday, saying he is “disappointed Israel can’t put Hezbollah away.”

“They can’t do anything without knocking buildings down,” the president added. Then, referring to the fight against Hezbollah, he said, “I’m close to giving it over to Syria.”

But Sharaa, who has been focused on rebuilding Syria and gaining domestic and international legitimacy since his Islamist forces ousted longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad in late 2024, rejected the idea of Syrian forces going to war against Hezbollah, a former Assad ally.

“The crisis in Lebanon is very serious and there is a deadlock in political solutions,” Sharaa told Arab news outlet Al Mashhad. “Syria offers a different approach to solving it, but the most important thing is first of all to stop the war.”

He added, “The solution for Lebanon will not come through war and the bombing of cities. President Trump expressed concern about the current situation in Lebanon, and his words were misunderstood. He spoke about Syria’s role in seeking a safe and peaceful solution, but people understood him as if Syria would enter Lebanon tomorrow morning.”

“We are looking for economic channels between Lebanon and Syria, not military ones,” he said. “Our vision is based on restoring support for the Lebanese state, strengthening its institutions, and seeking a solution that everyone can believe in. Stopping what is happening in Lebanon now requires creative solutions, not traditional and outdated ones.”

"To defeat Iran, America needs to end all negotiation and fight through blockades or kinetic war or boots on the ground wherever necessary."

British-born Jewish Zionist activist Melanie Phillips tells JNS Summit in Jerusalem that America needs to wage total war on Iran.
