"F**k Around And Find Out": Philly DA's Campaign Slogan Comes Back To Bite Him

Krasner ran for reelection on the slogan “F–k Around and Find Out.” He just found out…

District Attorney Larry Krasner is something of a bargain for Philadelphia. According to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, he has not only been serving as the city’s prosecutor but effectively as its top public defender.

Krasner’s record is the subject of a scathing new opinion, which accuses him of leading a dishonest effort to undermine major criminal cases to engineer new trials for defendants.

Krasner has long cultivated a reputation as the champion of the left. We were both liberal students in the same class at the University of Chicago. While I moved to the political center, Krasner moved even more dramatically to the far left. Funded by George Soros as part of his campaign to elect social justice warriors as prosecutors, Krasner has used his office to threaten to arrest FBI agents and to “hunt down” ICE officers, to the delight of the far left.

The chest-pounding has not resulted in any such roundups, but the press remains good for Krasner in cultivating his image as the avenging angel of the perpetually enraged.

That is why the recent opinion from Pennsylvania’s Democratic-controlled Supreme Court was so surprising. It appears that even these liberal justices have had enough.

In Commonwealth v. Brown, Justice Kevin Dougherty (joined by Justices Sallie Updyke Mundy, Kevin Brobson, and Daniel McCaffery) denounced Krasner and his office for a pattern of misleading and mendacious filings to undermine the criminal cases of murderers and other convicts.

These defendants filed for relief under Pennsylvania’s Post Conviction Relief Act.

The Act allowed for an adversarial process to determine whether defendants should receive new trials. However, the district attorney’s office routinely abandoned the field, leaving defendants essentially unopposed in their demands.

The Supreme Court wrote that such concessions robbed the public of “the benefits of opposing advocacy.”

It went even further in alluding to Krasner’s possible political and ideological motivations in pandering to the far left.

“When relief is not dictated by the record and law but merely advocated for personal, political, ideological, policy, or other non-legal reasons, a prosecutor’s concession does not minister justice,” the opinion states.

“It facilitates injustice.”

Elon Musk vows to sue Rep Ro Khanna over claim 4.5 million children were 'sentenced to death' by DOGE dismantling USAID

"…They don't talk about the 4.5 million children around the world who he possibly sentenced to death by dismantling USAID," Khanna said.

Elon Musk has threatened legal action against Democrat Congressman Ro Khanna after the California lawmaker accused him of being responsible for the deaths of millions of children through spending cuts implemented by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The row erupted after Khanna appeared on the I've Had It podcast and demanded future investigations into Musk once Democrats regain power. "He needs to be subpoenaed, he needs to face investigation, he needs to answer for what he did with DOGE. It's not just 'let's move on,'" Khanna said.

The Democrat congressman went even further, claiming Musk had "possibly sentenced to death" 4.5 million children around the world by helping dismantle parts of the U.S. foreign aid bureaucracy. "Once we take power, there needs to be accountability. There needs to be accountability for Elon Musk," Khanna declared. "They're celebrating that he created 4,400 millionaires, but they don't talk about the 4.5 million children around the world who he possibly sentenced to death by dismantling USAID."

Musk responded furiously on X, sharing a report on Khanna's comments and writing: "Time to sue this liar."

He added: "The standard applied by DOGE was very simple and easy: Provide contact information for the recipients of aid, so that we can confirm it is not fraudulent," Musk wrote. "The reality is that money was being sent to corrupt politicians under the guise of aid! Liars and stock insider traders like Ro the Robber should be in prison!!"

Musk's campaign to slash government spending and audit federal programs uncovered vast sums of taxpayer money being funnelled into unaccountable programs. Last year, DOGE had terminated hundreds of federal contracts totaling over $4.7 billion, including funding for climate change initiatives in Peru and gender equity programs in Mexico. Khanna's attack is particularly notable given that his congressional district includes Fremont, California, home to Tesla's massive manufacturing facility and thousands of Musk employees.

In Maryland District, a Last-Minute Scramble to Stop “AIPAC Adrian” Boafo

A powerful local figure is switching sides to back Quincy Bareebe in hopes of blocking an Oracle lobbyist from taking over the seat being vacated by AIPAC stalwart Steny Hoyer.

In a last-minute bid to prevent an AIPAC-backed Oracle lobbyist from seizing a congressional seat on Tuesday, Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy is dropping her endorsement of a fellow local county commissioner in the hopes of consolidating around Quincy Bareebe, whom many now consider the most competitive challenger to Oracle’s Adrian Boafo. Maryland’s primary will be held on Tuesday, June 23.

While national focus has been on the pro-Israel money being spent in New York’s primary contests, AIPAC and crypto interests have combined to drop some $12 million so far backing Boafo, a spending binge highlighted Sunday morning by the Washington Post in an article that could prove damaging. Bareebe also has the support of former Democratic Rep. Jamaal Bowman, who was ousted after AIPAC and other pro-Israel groups spent a then-record-breaking amount of money against him, at least $23 million in a single race.

Dubbed “AIPAC Adrian” in a rap song released recently in the district by Progressive Maryland, Boafo is a former aide to Rep. Steny Hoyer, who for decades was one of Israel’s most outspoken advocates in Congress and the lead organizer of a biannual congressional delegation to the country, funded by AIPAC.

Oracle was founded by Larry Ellison, one of the richest men in the world and the owner, along with his son, of CBS, CNN, TikTok, and many other media properties. While Hoyer aide Boafo went on to work for Ellison, another longtime lieutenant, Brian Romick, has become a prominent figure in the pro-Israel advocacy world. After nearly three decades on Hoyer’s staff he became president and CEO of Democratic Majority for Israel PAC, which is backing Boafo.

Prince George’s County makes up a major chunk of the 5th congressional district, and Braveboy was Councilwoman Wala Blegay’s most prominent local backer. (She is also backed by Rep. Ro Khanna of California.) Braveboy called Blegay Sunday to break the news to her, two sources familiar with the call told Drop Site. The call, to put it mildly, went poorly. A second call from Braveboy went better, and led to a meeting between Blegay’s staff and Braveboy’s staff on Monday, focused on the possibility of Blegay dropping out and consolidating behind Bareebe. While the loss of Braveboy’s support effectively ends her campaign, Blegay has yet to do so.

“Special interests are trying to turn elections into auctions, but I can’t be bought,” said Bareebe in a statement announcing Braveboy’s support. “I’m honored to have the County Executive’s support and I’m confident that in the end, the voters will heed the warning of Senator [Chris] Van Hollen and reject the mountains of cash outside interests are dropping across the District.” Van Hollen has been critical of Boafo’s reliance on AIPAC and crypto money, but hasn’t made an endorsement in the race.

Blegay, who raised less than $400,000, led the push for a Gaza ceasefire resolution in the county, but her campaign never attracted the kind of funding or outside support needed to challenge Boafo’s millions in the crowded field. Rushern Baker III, a former county executive who also served in the Maryland General Assembly, told Drop Site he has no plans to drop out. “We feel really good about where we are in the race,” he said.

Trump and PM Georgia Meloni Face New Strain as Italy Reassesses Israel Ties

The leaders' once-close alliance faces strain as the European nation challenges US and Israeli policies amid the Middle East conflict.

President Donald Trump once praised Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni as a leader who had “really taken Europe by storm.”

Meloni had flown to Mar-a-Lago in January 2025 for a brief visit before Trump returned to office, a trip Italian and European outlets treated as a sign that she could become one of Washington’s closest European interlocutors. That relationship now looks markedly more strained.

Over the past several months, Meloni has criticized Trump’s comments about Pope Leo XIV, denied at least one U.S. request involving Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sicily, and moved to suspend the automatic renewal of a defense cooperation agreement with Israel. Dockworkers and unions have also increased pressure inside Italy by opposing shipments tied to Israel through Italian ports.

Trump’s early praise for Meloni helped reinforce her image as one of the few European leaders with a direct line to his political circle. During the January 2025 Mar-a-Lago visit, incoming Secretary of State Marco Rubio reportedly called Meloni a “great ally” and “strong leader."

The public tone changed after Trump attacked Pope Leo XIV over the pope’s criticism of the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran. Trump called the pope “weak on crime” and “terrible for foreign policy” in a Truth Social post, and claimed Leo was elected because he was American.

Meloni responded that Trump’s words about the pope were “unacceptable,” adding that the pope is the head of the Catholic Church and that it is “right and normal” for him to call for peace and condemn all war.

Prior to this, Meloni had generally avoided direct criticism of Trump. In Italy, however, the pope occupies a political position no foreign ally can easily dismiss. Meloni’s statement placed her publicly on the opposite side of Trump at a moment when the war was already dividing the United States from several European governments.

Italy Draws a Line at Sigonella

In March, Italy denied the United States permission to use Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sicily for aircraft expected to land there before continuing to the Middle East.

Italian authorities allegedly learned of the flight plan while the aircraft were already airborne. There had been no prior authorization request or consultation with the Italian military.

The Italian position was procedural but significant. The reported flights were not treated as ordinary logistics missions covered by existing arrangements. ANSA, an Italian news agency, reported that Meloni and Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said the United States could continue normal use of bases in Italy under bilateral agreements, though any use beyond that scope would require parliamentary authorization.

That does not amount to Italy closing Sigonella to U.S. forces. It does show Rome insisting that the United States cannot assume automatic access for operations tied to a widening Middle East conflict.

Coast Guard helicopter crashes in southern Alaska

Four people were onboard the MH-60 Jayhawk when it went down during a training flight.

A Coast Guard search and rescue helicopter crashed Monday morning during a training flight in Alaska.

A Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter had four people onboard when it went down near Harbor Mountain in Sitka, a town in the Alexander Archipelago in southern Alaska several dozen miles south of Juneau. The Jayhawk and its aircrew are assigned to Coast Guard Air Station Sitka.

The crash happened Monday morning at around 10:07 a.m. local time, the Coast Guard said. It took nearly an hour for rescue crews to arrive on the scene. Rescue. However, no serious injuries were reported, a spokesperson for the Coast Guard Arctic District told Task & Purpose. All four crew members were taken by Sitka Fire and Rescue teams to Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center in Sitka.

The cause of the crash isn’t known, and in a post on X, the Coast Guard Arctic District said that a “formal investigation will be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.”

The Coast Guard Arctic District covers not only Alaska but the waters around it, including the Prince William Sound and waters in the Pacific.

Given Alaska’s remote conditions, local and military aircraft are often used to provide emergency search and rescue operations. Both the Coast Guard and National Guard regularly dispatch helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft to help people stranded or in crisis at sea.

In April, helicopters from Coast Guard Air Station Sitka and the National Guard conducted a mass casualty drill near the town, as part of what the Coast Guard called “a large joint exercise involving multiple government agencies and local organizations.”

Lebanon should be Israel’s ‘playground’ – minister

Israel’s hawkish National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has rejected US and Iranian calls to halt military operations in Lebanon

The Israeli army should continue operations in Lebanon despite pressure from the US, Israel’s hardline National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said on Monday.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have expanded their presence in southern Lebanon since early March, after the militant group Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel in support of Iran. Tehran has since listed an end to the fighting in Lebanon as one of its key conditions in peace talks with the US, prompting President Donald Trump to repeatedly condemn Israeli airstrikes in Beirut and elsewhere in the country.

Speaking to reporters, Ben-Gvir argued that Israel should make it clear to Trump that it “cannot agree to a ceasefire in Lebanon,” where more than 4,000 people have been killed since Israel resumed military operations. He added that Israel should not withdraw its troops, so as not to allow Hezbollah to rearm.

Ben-Gvir described Lebanon as a “country that supports terrorism,” adding that “even with a smaller number of soldiers, we can achieve results if Lebanon is our playground.” He previously wrote on X that “all of Lebanon should burn” in response to Hezbollah attacks.

Under a US-Iranian memorandum of understanding signed last week, the sides declared an “immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.”

On Monday, US Vice President J.D. Vance said that “very good progress” had been made on a “deconfliction mechanism” for Lebanon during talks with Iran in Switzerland. Mediators Qatar and Pakistan released a joint statement saying that the parties had “agreed on the creation of a deconfliction cell,” while technical talks on the issue would continue this week.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said, however, that Israel would retain “complete freedom of action” in Lebanon and “anywhere it is necessary.” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also said that the army had “full freedom of action to thwart any direct or emerging threat.”

“The IDF has no restrictions in this regard,” Netanyahu said, according to The Times of Israel. Israeli politicians have previously criticized the US-Iranian peace roadmap for failing to advance Israel’s war objectives.

During a series of heated phone calls with Netanyahu this month, Trump urged the Israeli leader to halt strikes in Lebanon, reportedly accusing him of having “no f**king judgment.”

So fuck peace, fuck Trump, fuck America!

Netanyahu, Katz and Zamir reiterate pledge to ‘continue to act decisively to thwart threats’ in Lebanon

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and Northern Command chief Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo just held a call.

“The IDF will continue to act decisively to thwart threats to our soldiers and civilians, destroy terror infrastructure, and continue maintaining the security zone in southern Lebanon,” Netanyahu, Katz, and Zamir say in a joint statement.

“The prime minister, the defense minister and the chief of staff clarified that the security of Israel’s civilians and IDF troops will continue to remain before their eyes without compromise,” they add.
