I am retiring this week and this is my goodbye email (Company name has been redacted):

To all,

After a glorious 11+ years sailin’ with this fine and fearless crew, I be thankin’ each and every one o’ ye for makin’ (company) the mighty vessel she be. Ye’ve all had a hand on the ropes, the sails, and occasionally the rum, and I’m grateful for the memories, the mischief, and the adventures we braved together — even the leaks that tried to send us to Davy Jones.

Watchin’ (Company) rise from a wee dinghy to a full rigged legend has been a sight fit for the history books. I’m proud o’ the battles we won, the storms we outran, and the victories we claimed. And never forget: keep (Company) sailin’ one step ahead o’ the fleet, or I’ll haunt the bilge.

But now the winds be shiftin’, and the open sea whispers me name. The time’s come for me to chase me long awaited dream of becomin’ a true pirate — aye, cutlass, compass, questionable hygiene and all. Should tales reach yer ears of a rogue sailor huntin’ treasure, losin’ maps, arguin’ with parrots, and shoutin’ “Prepare to be boarded!” at innocent dolphins… that scallywag be me.

Fair winds and following seas, me hearties. May yer coffers stay full and yer decks stay dry.
