Dutch doctors euthanize child under 12 for first time – media

The measure was introduced in 2024 for young patients with no prospect of recovery

Published 23 Jun, 2026

A child under the age of 12 has been euthanized in the Netherlands for the first time, Health Minister Sophie Hermans has said, according to local media reports.

The procedure was caried out under rules introduced in 2024, which allow the nation’s doctors to end the lives of terminally ill children in exceptional circumstances. Similar measures previously applied only to newborns and those aged 12 and above.

In a letter to parliament on Monday, Hermans reportedly said that the terminally ill child’s death occurred toward the end of last year and was subsequently reported to a special review committee, which had been set up to assess such cases. The minister did not disclose the child’s age, sex, or medical condition.

The committee has reviewed the circumstances and spoken to the doctor involved, Hermans said. The findings have been sent to prosecutors, who will decide whether the procedure complied with Dutch law. The assessment is reportedly expected to be made public soon.

Under the new rules, doctors must determine that a child is suffering unbearably from an incurable illness and that no reasonable treatment options remain. Parents must also give their consent before the procedure can take place. When introducing the policy,Dutch authorities said that it was expected to apply to no more than five to ten children a year.

There was no formal policy covering children between the ages of one and 12 before. The applicable conditions often include severe congenital disorders affecting the brain, lungs, or heart, as well as metabolic diseases, according to broadcaster NOS.

The policy has proven politically contentious, with the country’s two main Christian parties coming out against it.Some medical experts have also warned that doctors could bereluctant to act because prosecutors have the final say on whether the law was followed, rather than a review committee.

In the past, doctors could provide palliative sedation or stop giving food and fluids, allowing a child to die gradually, which could sometimes take weeks.

The Netherlands became the first country to legalize euthanasia in 2002.Belgium removed age restrictions on the practice in 2014, becoming the first country to apply it to minors under certain conditions.

The Netherlands recorded over 10,000 euthanasia cases in 2025, accounting for around 6% of all deaths nationwide, according to the country’s Regional Euthanasia Review Committees.

$140,000 raised for Texas woman who called Islam ‘terrorist organization’

A massage therapist sparked debate online after being filmed arguing about Muslims in a grocery store

Published 23 Jun, 2026

More than $140,000 has been raised online on behalf of a Texas woman filmed making anti-Islam comments in a grocery store.

The 44-second video which surfaced on Sunday shows a woman in blue medical scrubs confronting two other women who remain off camera.

The woman, identified by media reports as massage therapist Dasha Kilpatrick, says: “Islam is a terrorist organization, not a religion. I’m very educated on this subject. You need to leave. You’re not welcome here. This is not a Muslim country. This is a Christian country.”

One of the women is heard responding, “You need to leave,” while another says, “We have citizenship here.”

The altercation was reportedly filmed inside an H-E-B supermarket in Conroe, Texas.

After Kilpatrick faced backlash online, a fundraiser was launched on the Christian crowdfunding platform GiveSendGo. As of Tuesday, it raised $140,178.

“Dasha’s been fully doxxed, fired, and canceled for daring to speak truth in her own country. She’s now dealing with lost income, threats, and the mob coming for her holistic practice,” the fundraiser page states.

Texas State Representative Suleman Lalani described Kilpatrick’s remarks as “disturbing.”

“This ‘hate virus’ is a contagion we must confront with facts, truth, and unity,” he wrote on X.

Inner Light Holistic Healing, a business where Kilpatrick was reportedly listed as an employee, has been flooded with negative reviews.

Others, including Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace, expressed support for Kilpatrick.

“I stand with Dasha, do you?” Mace wrote on X.

Anti-Muslim incidents in the US have increased in recent years amid debates over immigration, conflicts in the Middle East, and concerns about Islamist terrorism.

President Donald Trump, who signed an executive order restricting entry from several Muslim-majority countries during his first term in office, has recently accused Democrats of covering up several high-profile fraud cases in Minnesota involving Somali Americans.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said it received 8,683 complaints of discrimination and bigotry last year, the highest annual number since the organization began publishing the data in 1996.

Starmer turned UK into ‘authoritarian hellhole’ – George Galloway

The British people are celebrating the prime minister’s resignation, the former MP has told RT

Published 23 Jun, 2026 01:03 |

Outgoing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has turned the UK into an “authoritarian hellhole,” with more people being jailed and arrested for social media posts than in any other country in the world, former MP George Galloway has told RT.

Starmer announced on Monday that he would step down as prime minister and Labour Party leader by September, citing a widespread internal revolt against his leadership.

Speaking to RT’s Rick Sanchez, Galloway, who was expelled from the Labour Party in 2003 for his vocal opposition to the Iraq War, welcomed the move.

“I danced on his political grave,” he said. “He has turned the United Kingdom into an authoritarian hellhole.”

Galloway argued that Starmer, who assumed office in July 2024,had made the UK subservient to the interests of Israel, Ukraine and the EU.

The British people were “rejoicing” at his departure, Galloway said, suggesting that Starmer’s plunging approval ratings had made him a liability for Labour.Only 18% of Britons viewed him favorably in mid-June, according to YouGov.

“He’s a creature of the deep state,”Galloway said, referring to Starmer’s work as Director of Public Prosecutions and head of the Crown Prosecution Service prior to his election to Parliament in 2015.He added that Starmer had “a whole string of deep-state preoccupations,” citing what he described as “the injustice to Julian Assange” and the decision not to prosecute BBC presenter and serial sex offender Jimmy Savile.

“That doesn’t mean the next fellow will be better,” Galloway said.

Andy Burnham, the newly sworn-in MP for Makerfield, is widely seen as the frontrunner to become the next prime minister. “It’ll be a coronation… this is a democratic outrage,”Galloway said.

In 2024, Starmer became the UK’s first Labour prime minister since 2010 and the sixth person to hold the office in the span of a decade. He decided to leave office after more than 100 Labour MPs urged him to step down and several key ministers resigned from his government.

Acting DNI Pulte Removes 51 from Agency – Six Fired and 45 “sent back to their home agencies”

June 23, 2026 | Sundance |

CBS is reporting on events within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. As CTH previously outlined,Acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte is following a very predictable path. {GO DEEP}

The part of the CBS report that tells the story is:“Six career and political intelligence staff were terminated and 45 were sent backto their home agencies, according to three sources familiar with the personnel moves.” … “One source characterized the cuts as thoughtful and methodical. No staffers have been removed from the counterterrorism group.”

So, who was removed?Well, I’m certainly not the Nostradamus of USIC, but if I were to hazard aneducated guess it looks like the National Intelligence Council – Directorate of Analysis, just lost six political staff, and 45 people from the various liaison desks were ‘sent back to their home agencies.’

The 45 returned to their ‘home agencies‘ were certainly from the liaison desks inside the DNI.

I’m not sure if that represents 45 from across all the desks, or the complete elimination of some overstaffed liaison desks. That said, given the nature of the leaking was recently to CNN (State Dept leaks to CNN),I am somewhat confident the State Dept liaison office inside the DNI is now empty office space. [Just a hunch

Please remember, our predictive public discussions at CTH are in the strictest confidence.

(VIA CBS) – Justover 50 career and political intelligence staffat the Office of the Director of National Intelligencehave been removed from their roles since Bill Pulte became the agency’s acting director, Friday.

Six career and political intelligence staff were terminated and 45 were sent back to their home agencies, according to three sources familiar with the personnel moves.

Pulte has been asking deputies and other directors for suggestions about cuts. Some of the ODNI deputies pushed for more cuts, but Pulte said that the 51 was enough for now, one of the sources said.

One source characterized the cuts as thoughtful and methodical. No staffers have been removed from the counterterrorism group.

No further firings are planned for now, two of the sources said.

The cuts follow hundreds of staff reductions last year by former Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who stepped down last week.Last year’s planned downsizing sought to bring the office’s headcount from 2,000 to around 1,300.

PresidentTrump has pushed for further cuts, directing Pulte to “execute the immediate and needed downsizing of the office” in a Truth Social post earlier this month.

[…] Sen. Mark Warner and Rep. Jim Himes, the top Democrats on the Senate and House intelligence panels, warned Pulte against making large-scale staff cuts, calling it an inappropriate course of action for an acting official without national security experience. (more)

Senator Warner haz sad.

Meanwhile in related news: “This sets up a stalemate as severalDemocrats have said they will not support reauthorizing Section 702 while Pulte remains Trump’s acting DNI pick.” {source}

No FISA (702)?

As Winnie the Pooh would say, “Oh, bother!”

(Tue June 23, 2026, CNN KEK is upset because the lost their leakers)

Trump’s acting chief of national intelligence fires 6 political appointees, removes dozens of career officials, sources say

Acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pultehas fired six political appointeesput in place by former Director Tulsi Gabbard andremoved dozens of career intelligence officials from their roles, according to four sources familiar with the moves.

The 45 career officials were on joint duty assignment at the agency — meaning they were working at the ODNI but are technically employed by other agencies — and were sent back to their home offices, the sources said.

The National Counterterrorism Center, a component of ODNI that had previously been expected to be a key target for Pulte, was not impacted by the cuts, one source familiar with the situation said.

Pulte said on X Tuesday evening, “Today, I spent time with the National Counterterrorism Center team, who is doing an incredible job protecting our Country under President Trump’s leadership. The room was filled with true professionals and American patriots. It is a privilege to work beside them.”

Another source familiar said there could beas many as two dozen additional firings in the coming weeks, but would unlikely go beyond that. This source said that Pulte has been consulting career intelligence officials on the cuts.

The removalsrepresent the first major move in Pulte’s mandateto make drastic reductions at the spy office, which had already been slimmed down under Gabbard. The ODNI, which acts as a policymaker and coordinator for the 18 agencies that make up the US intelligence community, has been a target of some on theMAGA right who believe it is made up of a “deep state” determined to undermine the president.

CNN has reached out to the ODNI for comment.

Trump installed Pulte in the acting role with a mandate to “execute the immediate and needed downsizing of the office,” the president wrote in a Truth Social post. Pulte, who has no national security experience, initially triggered alarm bells among some Republicans on Capitol Hill.

But according to two sources familiar with closed-door discussions with Pulte on the Hill, some of those concerns have been eased.

“Senators were surprised at the Pulte pick for sure,” said one Republican Senate staffer. “But since Trump announced him,Pulte put together a detailed strategic plan to implement Trump’s reform agenda at DNI, he is working closely with (the Senate Intelligence Committee), andhe’s executing great. Republican Senators have been impressed.Don’t be surprised if he stays in for awhile.”

In other words, this person said, “Pulte being willing to rock the boat and send a bunch of people back to their agencies andgut the bureaucracy is a feature, not a bug for Republicans.”

Top Democrats on the Senate and House Intelligence Committees, meanwhile, have warned that mass cuts could risk US national security.

In a letter sent to Pulte on Monday, Sen. Mark Warner and Rep. Jim Himes wrote, “We are concerned by reports that you intend to fire or place on leave hundreds of Office of the Director of National Intelligence officers as soon as this week.”

While there is room to consider responsible reductions to ODNI’s workforce, any large cuts would follow on a substantial downsizing that has already occurred in 2025 and risk jeopardizing the mission of an organization explicitly created after 9/11 to prevent any future such terrorist attack,” the lawmakers wrote.

The ODNI, created to avoid the kind of stove-piping of intelligence between agencies that in part contributed to the US’s failure to catch the 9/11 plot in time, has also long faced bipartisan criticism for bureaucratic inefficiency. Its relevance and authority — in particular relative to the CIA, whose director used to act as the leader of the whole community — have ebbed and flowed depending on the administration.

But it has historically acted as an important hub of analysis for the US government, responsible for producing the kind of interagency assessments that inform presidents. The President’s Daily Brief, for example, is an ODNI product.

The prospect of widespread cuts to an agency that has already struggled to maintain morale — and, some officials say, attract and maintain top talent within the government — has further diminished an office that was once a coveted job posting. Gabbard in 2025 announced that she planned tocut the workforce by 40 percent. Now, one of the sources familiar with the dismissals said, theoffice spaces are “more than half unoccupied and disheveled.”

“The staff is numb and unhappy,” this source said. “One person compared it to the trauma of the Covid pandemic.”
