A common blood pressure medicine has been recalled across the country. The Food and Drug Administration has recalled more than 11,000 bottles of a Chlorthalidone.
A common blood pressure medicine has been recalled across the country. The Food and Drug Administration has recalled more than 11,000 bottles of a Chlorthalidone.
The recall is for 11,460 bottles of Chlorthalidone tablets, USP, 25 milligrams. The drug failed to meet the FDA regulation for dissolvability. If the drug does not dissolve properly it could lead to incorrect dosages, less effective or ineffective medication.
The recall impacts 100 tablet and 1,000 tablet bottles with an expiration date of April 2027 and have the following batch numbers:
100 tablet bottle: RISA24001
1000 tablet bottle: RISB24002
The medicine was manufactured by Inventia Healthcare Limited in India. The medicine was distributed through Risiong Pharma Holdings, Inc in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
