This is false premise and what was taught in school where history was already rewritten. Think about it, if the British taxed tea, what would be the big deal, when you can grow your own tea, and many teas are native to America, let alone coffee from South America. You were also taught the Colonialists had to house British troops that came from over seas for months at a time. Now think about it, an armed man that can just walk into your home, take whatever he wants without paying, and consider your wife and children? The British had a writ of F.U.C.K., which stands for "Furthermost Under the Consent of the King" that gave the British soldiers rights over everything including women and children, in a Colonialists household. We fought the British and killed them in the middle of the night for this specific reason, not because of tea or sugary drinks.
