Saw a lumpy looking thing in the road in front of my house, a wallet packed with $1,600 in 20's and 50'S. The wallet had the owners name and phone number written in black pen inside on the leather. I called and the owner of the wallet answered. He was at the American Legion Post, they were holding an auction and he had driven there on a moped, the wallet fell out of his pocket and he had no idea it was missing. He drove back to my house, a really old guy, picked it up and thanked me. He offered no reward, but I would not have taken it anyway. I have had similar things happen over the years, a seamstress who dropped her cash and checks in an envelope in a parking lot an old guy's gold wedding ring with inscriptions, etc. I have always returned them.

Why? because I lost my wallet when I was 18 in a Howard Johnson's parking lot with a little money, ID, credit cards. A woman mailed it to me saving me huge hassles.
