New York Governor Kathy Hochul did not receive the welcome she expected at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the New Buffalo Bills stadium.

The new $2.1 Billion Highmark Stadium officially opened on Wednesday with a humiliating flop from the Governor.

Immediately after being welcomed to the stage in her team-colored blue suit and a Bills cap, Hochul unsuccessfully tried to rile up the crowd.

“All right, let’s get this party started,” she said, pointing to the crowd and shouting, “Let’s go.” But nobody responded with the “Buffalo” chant she was hoping for.

She then tried again,shouting, “Let’s go,” throwing her left hand out, and “Buffalo,” throwing her right. But nobody joined.

“All right, seriously?You’re going to win a championship season with that kind of energy,” she said before trying again!

Men and women of labor, you know what I’m talking about. Let’s go! Buffalo!” she said, falling flat.

“All right, we gotta give this place some good karma, right?We gotta send our boys off to a great, great sense of accomplishment and victory in the wings,” she continued awkwardly.

Others in attendance at the event were Bills Owner and CEO Terry Pegula, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, and Mary Wilson, the widow of Bills founder Ralph Wilson Jr.

Per Fox:

The Bills will open the 60,000-seat facility with a “Return of the Blue & Red” training camp practice on Aug. 8. The stadium is 99.75% complete, according to Bills Senior Vice President of Design and Stadium Operations Frank Cravotta.

Stadium architects Populous designed the building with underground heating coils to allow the natural grass to avoid freezing, along with lights specifically designed for growing grass. There’s also a snow-melt system, and a canopy that blocks wind to keep fans more comfortable during the brutal Buffalo winters.

Today, President Donald J. Trump has threatened to impose a 100% tariff on countries that levy a digital services tax on United States companies.

Trump also said that existing trade deals would be discarded.

“In a social media post, Trump took aim at European countries, he said, that are discussing the ‘imminent’ implementation of taxes on American companies.

The US president has repeatedly sought to use tariffs to deter such taxes, but many countries are seeking revenue as their economies increasingly operate in digital realms dominated by American companies.”

“’Please let this statement serve to represent that any Country that imposes such a Tax will immediately be met with a 100% tariff on any and all Goods sent to the United States of America’, Trump wrote.

He added that the new tax would supersede any previously negotiated trade deals. Trump said the penalty would apply to any country that moves forward with such a tax, but he singled out European nations in his post.”

“Before setting off for the [G7] summit [last week] in France, Trump had warned that the U.S. would “have no choice” but to apply ​100% tariffs on French wine unless Paris eliminated its digital tax.

France has applied ​a 3% ⁠levy since 2019 on revenue earned in France from digital services provided by companies with revenue of more than €25 million in the country and €750 million ($854.02 million) worldwide. French lawmakers last year proposed doubling the tax to 6%.

The U.S. ⁠Trade Representative’s ​office has long threatened France, Britain, Austria, Spain and other ​European countries with retaliatory tariffs if they impose digital services taxes, arguing that these levies discriminate against U.S. companies, which dominate the sector globally.”

Utah Governor Spencer Cox Bans Fireworks Statewide for America’s 250th Anniversary

Utah Governor Spencer Cox, a Republican, has issued a temporary statewide restrictionon personal fireworks for the Fourth of Julydue to wildfire conditions and severe drought across the state. (So the state can do fireworks but people can’t. What makes it more safe for the state are doing fireworks?)

The move comes as Americans prepare tocelebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary.

On Thursday, Cox signed Executive Order 2026-04, declaring a state of emergency and granting the Utah State Forester expanded authority to prohibit the discharge of fireworks.

The restrictions are in effect from July 2 through July 5, through the holiday weekend.

Municipal leaders, working with local fire chiefs and officials,can still choose to designate specific “safe areas” where personal fireworks may still be allowed.

If no safe areas are designated in a community, the full state-level restriction applies.

The executive order temporarily suspends a portion of state lawthat previously limited the state forester’s ability to restrict fireworks inside city limits.

Officials have stated that increased patrols will be conducted in high-risk areas,and violations can result in criminal and civil penalties.

Cox explained his decision in a post on X.

The governor wrote in full:

When the people who’ve dedicated their lives to protecting Utah tell us that this year is different, we need to listen.

Our firefighters are risking their lives to protect Utah. Right now, they need our help.

Today, I signed an executive order to temporarily restrict fireworks statewide through July 5.

More than 75% of Utah’s wildfires have been human-caused, and the danger to lives, homes, and our firefighters is simply too high.

This order gives local leaders, working with their fire chiefs, the flexibility to identify where fireworks can still be used safely.

I love celebrating the Fourth with fireworks, but this year is different. Our goal is to make sure our neighborhoods and communities are still standing on July 5.

Conditions will continue to be monitored closely in the days leading up to the holiday.

Utah Judge Tony Graf found one of the county prosecutors in the Charlie Kirk murder case in contempt for violating a publicity order but denied Tyler Robinson’s request to strike the death penalty from the case.

Robinson fatally shot TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025 during an event at Utah Valley University.

Tyler Robinson allegedly used a Mauser 98 .30-06 rifle to kill Charlie Kirk.

Robinson was charged with:

– Count 1: Aggravated murder (capital offense)

– Count 2: Felony reckless discharge of a firearm causing bodily injury

– Count 3: Felony obstruction of justice for hiding the firearm

– Count 4: Felony obstruction of justice for discarding the clothing he wore during the shooting

– Count 5: Witness tampering for asking roommate to delete incriminating messages

– Count 6: Witness tampering for demanding trans roommate stay silent, and not speak to police

– Count 7: Commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child

Earlier this year, it was reported that newly-released search warrants revealed Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson’s damning handwritten note to his transgender lover, Lance Twiggs.

The newly-unsealed affidavit revealed that Tyler Robinson wrote a handwritten letter to his live-in lover Lance Twiggs, AKA, “Luna” in which he admits to a plot to kill Charlie Kirk.

“I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I took it,” Robinson wrote.

Investigators also recovered DNA, a palm print on the roof of the Losee Center building.

According to a new report, a bullet fragment recovered from Charlie Kirk’s body was identified as a .30 caliber that matched the rifle used by Tyler Robinson.

Tyler Robinson’s lover, Lance Twiggs, has been granted limited “use immunity” to testify in person at an upcoming hearing in the Charlie Kirk murder case.

Prosecutors said in a court filing that they want to cross-examine Lance Twiggs.

The prosecutors plan to present Lance Twiggs’s text exchanges with Robinson and recorded statements during next month’s preliminary hearing.
