Cubans Living In NYC Begin Boarding Rafts To Escape Communism Again

NEW YORK, NY — Cuban Americans across the city reportedly took to the sea, eager to once again escape the terrors of communism in homemade rafts that some believed may not even be capable of making the trip.

 

Following the election of three socialist representatives to Congress and with the city under the leadership of Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Cubans began breaking down old wooden furniture and forming rudimentary rafts so they could once again sail away from communism.

 

"I don't care where I go, but it can't be here," said Juan Rodriguez, a successful Cuban immigrant who had made quite a life for himself on Wall Street. "I escaped Cuba years ago to find a better life, but now communism is chasing me down again."

 

He elaborated, "It's like that movieFinal Destination, I guess. You can't escape communism. It just keeps coming. It follows the pattern, chasing the people it has chosen. We're all going to run out of bread if we don't get out of here."

 

Hundreds of Cuban New Yorkers abandoned the city, nearly clogging up the East River with their rafts as they attempted to find a better life somewhere across the Atlantic.

 

"I'm certainly not going to Canada, I can tell you that much," said Ricky Ricardo (no relation to the fictional character from I Love Lucy, but still Cuban). "Maybe Greenland? I don't know. I hope this baby can make it."

 

At publishing time, thousands of Cubans were presumed missing after accidentally colliding with an iceberg somewhere in the northern Atlantic.

President Trump Savages John Bolton After Guilty Plea

President Trump savaged John Bolton after the former National Security Advisor pleaded guilty on Friday to a felony count of unlawfully retaining national defense information.

 

The plea was made in federal court in Greenbelt, Maryland, before U.S. District Judge Theodore D. Chuang.

 

The judge set the sentencing hearing for October 28.

 

Bolton, 77, had faced an 18-count indictment that had accused him of both transmitting and retaining highly sensitive, classified materials during and after his time in the Trump administration.

 

Bolton served as national security advisor from April 2018 until September 2019.

 

John Bolton is facing up to 10 years in prison and agreed to pay a $2.25 million fine.

 

President Trump trashed Bolton in a late night Truth Social post.

 

“John Bolton, a very dumb, unbalanced, and unskilled former representative of the United States of America, just pleads guilty! He is a terrible person, a lunatic who only wanted to start trouble and wars, and who was a needless pusher of death and destruction wherever he went. Hopefully, he will be dealt with harshly! President DJT” President Trump said in a Truth Social post.

 

 

The FBI raided John Bolton’s home last summer.

 

FBI agents were sent to Bolton’s home because he sent “highly sensitive” classified materials to family members from a private, unsecured email server while he was working at the White House during the first Trump Administration.

 

“Investigators reopened a dormant probe into Bolton’s alleged use of a private email to send classified national security documents to his wife and daughter from his work desk before his dismissal by Trump in September 2019, according to a senior US official,” The New York Post previously reported.

 

The investigation into John Bolton began in 2020 when he used classified information to write his book titled, “The Room Where It Happened.”

 

The Biden Administration halted the investigation into Bolton, but FBI Director Kash Patel revived it and ordered the raid on the former NatSec Advisor’s home.

 

The New York Times previously reported that the US Government actually discovered John Bolton’s classified emails while gathering information from an “adversarial country’s spy service.”

 

Documents previously released revealed that John Bolton stored classified information about WMDs and the United Nations.

 

“Categories of potentially classified records that the FBI reported finding at Bolton’s office included: travel memo documents with a “secret” label; confidential documents from the U.S. mission to the U.N.; confidential documents related to strategic communications; and classified documents related to weapons of mass destruction,” Politico reported.
