I'm not choosing to believe in people because I like what I see from them in the world today.

I'm choosing to believe in people because I recognize what we are going to need to become before this ordeal can be surmounted.

If people can not find within themselves the same purity of purpose which was common among those who initially designed society, then these systems we are building to automate that process will continue to eliminate strata after strata, until civilization consists primarily of those who embrace the challenge once again.
