IIRC the Houthis doing their shit had made the Western Underwriters nervous where smaller companies could no longer get coverage and for others rates soared. In response Singapore and China both started looking having their own domestic insurance providers. Now add in Iran's shit and those new carriers look better and better. Kinda ironic that communist China may provide the competition that fucks the influence of London and the western bunch. The upnote is if China is insuring the ships they are building then it behooves them to make sure the ships are built with far better quality than their apartment buildings
