Agreed, anon.
I call it "the cabbage-munching caterpillar perspective" where people view events from under a metaphorical cabbage leaf in their backyard in their personal timeline, where they can't even see over the garden wall, versus "God's perspective" that spans all of human history and geography - past, present and future.
I'm always surprised by how many people are cabbage-munching caterpillars, perfectly content never to look beyond their present time, location and circumstances.
