We now have a Mexican Batman running around

GOT-EM CITY Mysterious vigilante dubbed ‘Mexican Batman’ hunting down ‘motorcycle thieves’ & duct taping them to street poles

05:27, 28 Jun 2026 Updated: 05:53, 28 Jun 2026

A MYSTERIOUS vigilante has been dubbed “Mexican Batman” after chasing down suspected motorbike thieves and duct taping them to lampposts.

At least five men have been found bound to street poles with their mouths taped and the word “thief” scribbled across their faces in the past two weeks.

An unidentified local has taken drastic measures against a huge spike in bike thefts in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, by ruthlessly attacking a string of people.

Photos show the alleged thieves strapped to street poles with huge amounts of tape around their arms and bodies.

Several had “ratero” scrawled across their forehead in marker pen, which means thief in Spanish.

So-called Mexican Batman also drew moustaches and cat whiskers on the men as his supposed calling card.

The vigilante also left large pink signs above the men detailing what they’re alleged to have done.

The supposed stolen bikes were also left nearby to illustrate the men’s alleged crimes.

Police stressed that the men found tied up are the ones being treated as the victims.

Several showed signs of being beaten up by the individual with one left bloodied and bruised.

Police in Jalisco are now on the hunt to catch the wannabe superhero.

The first person to be discovered was on June 13, when a young man was found tied to a post, left with a cardboard sign accusing him of being a thief.

In the following days, more men were found taped up, seemingly by the same perpetrator, who left all the alleged thieves in similar states.

State Security Secretary Juan Pablo Hernández said a total of five cases have been reported, with cops hot on the Mexican’s trail.

He added that though no suspects have yet been arrested, police have identified two vehicles that they think are connected to the attacks.

The men left tied up were cut down and all treated for their injuries.

It comes after female vigilantes patrolled the nearby state of Michocoán carrying assault rifles to protect themselves from the bloodthirsty Jalisco New Generation cartel.

The group of women warriors have built a homemade tank and roadblocks to help fend off Jalisco gunmen, who are responsible for a surge in homicides in the region.

The ruthless CJNG has been Mexico’s most violent crime gang in recent years, aggressively expanding its reach across the country through bold attacks against its rivals and government forces.

Their rise to dominance has been marked by brutal displays of violence – and they are known to rip out hearts of victims and hang bodies from motorway bridges in a chilling warning to rivals.

M82: Galaxy with a Supergalactic Wind

Why is the Cigar Galaxy billowing red smoke? M82, as this starburst galaxy is also known, was stirred up by a recent pass near large spiral galaxy M81. This doesn't fully explain the source of the red-glowing outwardly expanding gas and dust, however. Evidence indicates that this gas and dust is being driven out by the combined emerging particle winds of many stars, together creating a galactic superwind. The dust particles are thought to originate in M82's interstellar medium and are actually similar in size to particles in cigar smoke. The featured photographic mosaic combines images taken in visible light from the Hubble Space Telescope and images taken in infrared light from James Webb Space Telescope. It shows the light-colored central galaxy nearly edge on across the image center with tremendous orange and red colored filaments of gas and dust extending both up and down. The filaments extend for over 10,000 light years. The 12-million light-year distant Cigar Galaxy is the brightest galaxy in the sky in infrared light and can be seen in visible light with a small telescope towards the constellation of the Great Bear (Ursa Major).

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman

@NASAAdmin

As we celebrate America's 250th birthday with @Freedom250, we're reminded that our nation's story has always been defined by people willing to take on big challenges.

@POTUS launched the Artemis program with a bold vision for America's future in space. Today, we're carrying that vision forward by returning to the Moon, building a permanent presence, and preparing for where we inevitably go next.

How NASA's 'America 250' celebrations are reaching from the sky to the moon

June 29, 2026

NASA is taking the "America 250" birthday celebration to new heights.

The agency has big plans for July 4 — the 250th anniversary of the ratification of the Declaration of Independence — which involves both aircraft and spacecraft.

"From the earliest days of exploration, to the first steps on the moon and the missions shaping our future, NASA represents the spirit of discovery that defines our nation," the agency wrote on a webpage marking the milestone anniversary.

The party was already underway in April, when the Artemis 2 mission circled the moon. The four Artemis 2 astronauts — three from NASA and one from the Canadian Space Agency — sported "America 250" patches among their gear.

The patch shows NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) rocket launching into the black, near a "250" surrounded by stars. Around the edges of the patch are the words "NASA: The rocket's red glare," alluding to the U.S. national anthem.

Another version of the America 250 emblem, prominently featuring the numbers in red and blue, also was mounted on each of the solid rocket boosters of Artemis 2's SLS.

There's a lot more planned in the coming weeks to ramp up to Independence Day and beyond. NASA said it will have a "series of special aircraft flyovers" at the following locations and times:

July 3-5: The Great American State Fair, Washington, D.C.

July 4: Salute to America: The Nation's 250th Birthday Fireworks Celebration, Washington, D.C.

July 23-24: EAA AirVenture, Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Aug. 23: Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C.

Oct. 3-4: Pacific Air Show, Huntington Beach, California

Oct. 31-Nov. 1: Commemorative Air Force Wings Over Houston Air Show

The agency also plans to make a special appearance at the Great American State Fair on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., between June 25 and July 10. NASA will host a pavilion featuring Artemis, a model of its planned Moon Base and a crew survival suit for the Orion spacecraft.

Other pavilion exhibits include "authentic spacesuit tools, immersive pop-up visuals, the X-59 experimental aircraft model, interactive tabletop demonstrations, astronaut food, and life-size astronaut cutouts for photos," NASA officials stated.

NASA has also celebrated America 250 by displaying the event logo on the countdown clock at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the Artemis 2 launch site, and lighting up the Washington Monument with an SLS rocket projection around New Year's Eve.

Meanwhile, NASA's Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is offering a "250 Space Dreams" contest between July 1 and Aug. 2. The Space Coast facility will randomly select visitors to receive an envelope with a certificate and QR code inside.

Prizes will vary, but winners could receive NASA merch, spots on a bus tour, a free ticket to an astronaut chat, or grand prizes for things such as signed astronaut gear or $250 for on-site souvenirs.
