He sent this rare, historic document on a three-and-a-half-year, 50-state cross-country "Road Trip" designed to inspire civic participation and boost youth voter registration.The Dunlap Broadside is one of roughly 25 surviving copies printed on the night of July 4, 1776. Lear, who wept the first time he read the opening lines of the Declaration, famously described this specific copy as the "people's document".
