The SPLC kerfuffle is proof that there is no right or left, it's all one big circle jerk to divide and conquer.
Having said that, yes I will continue to use the phrase lefty loon to describe those who label themselves as being on the left end of the political spectrum. Which is better described as a three dimensional space IMO, but that is a different discussion.
