UK police draw batons on enraged crowd protesting rape (VIDEO)

Protesters gathered outside the home of two men charged in connection with the rape of a woman in a Glasgow alley

Published 8 Jul, 2026 16:04 | Updated 8 Jul

UK police drew batons amid a clash with enraged locals at a protest in Glasgow, Scotland on Tuesday, asofficers evacuated two men accused of being involved in a rape away from the furious crowd.

The protesters gathered outside an apartment block in the city’s East End over concerns that someone living in the building posed a public risk, according to the Glasgow Times.

Videos from the protest show the police pushing scores of angry locals aside as they lead two young men out of the buildingand into a police van while the men try to cover their faces.

The crowd is heard chanting “Beast! Beast! Beast!” In Scottish slang, the word refers to a rapist or child molester.

When one protester rushed at one of the men and struck at him, the police drew their batons and shouted “get back” at the crowd.

A 50-year-old was charged in connection with a police assault after the incident, a police spokesperson said in a statement cited by the media.

The protest came weeks after two men were charged in connection with the rape of a woman in a downtown alley.

Jebril Abdelrahman, 19, was charged with rape and Denison Charles, 20, was charged with assaultat Glasgow Sheriff Court, the Scottish Sun reported on Wednesday.

Abdelrahman, who The Sun said is from Glasgow, was reportedly remanded in custody. Local social media accounts, including British anti-immigration activist Tommy Robinson, however, referred to him as a migrant.

“As a Cranhill lad – what we witnessed yesterday was the latest sign of community frustration at an establishment who has turned their back on them,” Reform UK Scotland deputy leader Thomas Kerr said on X. “Locals are saying enough is enough, I hope those in power are listening.”

Nigel Farage’s anti-immigration Reform party has made significant advances in recent months, winning more than 1,452 seats in local elections across England in May amid Labour’s sinking popularity. Growing anger over immigration has stoked protests and riots across the UK in recent years, inflamed by a series of high-profile violent crimes and sexual assault cases involving migrants and asylum seekers.

Denmark expects NATO to defend Greenland from ‘erstwhile friend’ US

President Trump said during the bloc’s summit in Türkiye that Washington should control the Danish island

Published 8 Jul, 2026 10:19

NATO would help Denmark protect Greenland from any attack, including hypothetically from the US, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has said.

The issue of Greenland came up on the sidelines of a NATO leaders’ summit in Ankara, Türkiye, after US President Donald Trump confirmed that he still wants Washington to control the Danish autonomous territory. He said the dispute was one of the reasons his relationship with the bloc had deteriorated.

“That should be controlled by the United States, not by Denmark,” Trump told reporters during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday.

“Greenland does not help Denmark. Denmark does not really spend money to help Greenland,” he said.He also warned that the US could potentially withdraw all American troops from Europe.

Frederiksen respondedahead of a leaders’ meeting on Wednesday, when asked about a possible military conflict over Greenland with “an erstwhile friend.” She said “we are ready to defend any inch of NATO, including our own territory,” and described Article 5 protections as an insurance policy.Denmark would not be able to defend itself without NATO, she said, adding that “the same goes for the US.”(that statement the US can’t defend themselves, she should consider the situation with Iran!)

The idea of the US acquiring Greenland has arisen at various times in American history. Strategically located in the North Atlantic, the Danish island already hosts a US military base and is believed to contain valuable mineral resources, the extraction of which could become commercially viable in the future.

Trump has refused to rule out the use of military force to establish control over Greenland, raising the possibility of NATO being pitted against its dominant member. The American leader has accused the organization of being useless to US interests, with its refusal to become directly involved in the US-Israeli attack on Iran emerging as a major grievance.

Meanwhile, European NATO members rely on American weapons and intelligence to sustain Kiev’s war effort against Moscow. Western donors have argued that the conflict must continue while they conduct a military build-up for a potential direct war with Russia.

What Erdogan and Putin Know That NATO Doesn't: Trump's Ankara Move

Promethean Updates

the NATO summit in Ankara, President Trump signaled a new foreign-policy dynamic by prioritizing Turkey and President Erdogan—nearly skipping the summit, praising Turkey’s independent role on Iran, and floating renewed F-35 sales despite Turkey’s S-400 purchase and ties to both Moscow and Kiev. In contrast, European leaders and Canada’s Mark Carney arrived with a “Resilience” agenda—claiming Europe can stand without the U.S.—after months of planning, including Carney’s coordination and MI6 guidance on “managing” Trump. The episode argues this posture is undermined by Europe’s industrial decline, citing falling German production, Volkswagen’s expected job cuts, and Britain’s shrinking steel capacity, while Carney’s response centers on new defense and Ukraine lending facilities. The script frames Putin’s July 4 call with Trump as highlighting shared historical ties and “colossal” cooperation potential, including space collaboration, as evidence old geopolitical rules are breaking down.

If Iran tries to close down Strait of Hormuz, U.S. military will respond, Vance says

Vice President JD Vance echoed many of the points made throughout the day by President Trump as he spoke in Milwaukee, saying since Iran attacked commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. had no choice but to respond militarily.

"They were well behaved for about a week. But then they started shooting at ships," Vance said. "So the deal is very simple, if they shoot at ships, we're going to knock the hell out of them. And it's that simple."

Vance, who was involved in the negotiations to end the conflict with Iran during the 60-day pause outlined in the memorandum of understanding signed by the U.S. and Iran last month, repeatedly posed the choice as a simple one.

"If they try to close it down, there's going to be a response from the American military. It's that simple. That's the deal," said Vance, who was in Wisconsin for an event focused on stopping fraud. "They can either follow it or they can have exactly what happened to them last night."

He continued, "It's just going to keep on happening until they open up that lane and stop shooting at ships. It's simple."

"Trump's statements today, from insulting the Iranian nation to threatening further attacks, are not a sign of strength, but rather an admission of the failure of a policy built on brute force, sanctions, and threats for years, which could not bring the Iranian nation to its knees," Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said on X. "With the criminal and murderous Trump, one must speak in his own language; apparently, he understands the language of force better!"

The funny thing is Iran speak and shout more vulgar and terroristic mandates, and they think Trump is rude! KEK
