Ohio man among 8 federally indicted in plot to attack White House UFC event

The case all began with an investigation in Ohio, when Proper's parents called police to report concerns about their son's behavior.

Proper, along with the four others arrested around the country, are accused of using TikTok and Signal, an encrypted messaging app, to discuss dropping explosives from drones over the UFC fight held at the White House on Sunday.

They allegedly wanted to shoot people running away, with snipers positioned nearby.

The FBI believes the group was plotting to murder President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and members of Congress who took money from a pro-Israel lobby group.

The FBI learned of the plan when Proper's mother called police, saying her son had bought thousands of dollars in guns, ammunition, and tactical gear.

As for a motive, the FBI says the group wanted to jumpstart a nationwide revolution, citing complaints over the Epstein files, data centers, and government corruption.

A week after the initial arrests, two more men were arrested by the FBI in Washington and Missouri.

According to the FBI, an eighth man, Chandler D. Scaggs, 21, of Chapmanville, West Virginia, was taken into custody in West Virginia. Scaggs was allegedly assigned to be one of the snipers in the plotted attack.

According to an affidavit, Scaggs allegedly was supposed to be picked up by Proper to travel to Washington, D.C.

After Proper was arrested, Scaggs and others lost contact with him, but Scaggs allegedly indicated to the group that he was still willing to participate in the attack and made new plans for another coconspirator to pick him up to travel to the UFC Freedom 250 event.

The men indicted in the attack are listed below with alias:

Abraham Alvarez, 31, from Omaha Nebraska

Daniel Eskridge, 32, Hamilton, Missouri

William Falkner, 21, Belfair, Washington

Tycen Proper, 19, Danville, Ohio

Jordan Rincker, 28, St. Joseph, Missouri

Bryan Roa, 25, Calimesa, California

Chandler Scaggs, 21, Chapmanville, West Virginia

Michael Thomas, 32, Pinon Hills, California

Each is charges with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists and conspiracy to commit murder on federal government territory and to murder a federal government official.

The indictment supersedes initial charges filed locally for each.

Conspiring to provide material support to terrorists is punishable by up to 15 years of imprisonment. Conspiring to commit murder carries a potential penalty of up to life in prison.
