Promethean PAC Visits Trump Policy Contrast Against Energy Priorities

July 11, 2026 | Sundance |

Barbara Boyd argues Trump is pursuing peace talks with Iran while warning the ceasefire is over and the U.S. will respond with crushing force if Iran interferes in the Strait of Hormuz. She says media claims that Trump is a warmonger are false, citing Trump’s regional “Board of Peace,” Iran’s long-term proxy war through Hamas and Hezbollah, and Iran’s uranium enrichment and nuclear ambitions.

The script describes U.S. strikes—Operation Midnight Hammer (2025) and Operation Epic Fury (Feb. 2026)—and claims these actions weakened Iran, shifted Gulf states against Tehran, enabled changes in Gaza and Lebanon, and collapsed Iran’s economy, leaving Hormuz harassment as its main lever.Boyd frames the conflict as part of a broader struggle against a London-centered “petrodollar” energy order and Net Zero policies, highlighting Trump’s energy expansion, economic metrics, and new nuclear and fusion initiatives as the future economic strategy. U.S. launches third round of strikes on Iran in response to Iranian strike on commercial ship

U.S. forces launched their third round of strikes this week on Iran, this time in retaliation for an attack on a commercial ship in the Strait of Hormuz, the Pentagon said.

U.S. Central Command reported that the strikes, launched at 7:15 p.m. Eastern Time, were in response for an attack by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps on the M/V GFS Galaxy, a Cyprus-flagged container ship in the strait.

CENTCOM said Iran's strike sparked a fire aboard the GFS Galaxy. A civilian crew member of the ship was missing, and the vessel has been disabled. The ship sustained significant engine room damage as well.

"Iran was provided yet another opportunity to demonstrate adherence to the Memorandum of Understandingafter being held accountable for earlier attacks on commercial vessels but has again failed," CENTCOM said in its statement.

Iran claims it launched warning shots at commercial ship in Strait of Hormuz, alleges strait is closed

Sepah News, the official media agency for Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps, stated in a Telegram post that Iran launched warning shots at a "violating ship" in the Strait of Hormuz Saturday.

According to Sepah, Tehran's regime has said it will now close the strait "until further notice."

If the U.S. retaliates for this strike, Iran "will respond severely and new enemy bases in the region will be targeted," Sepah said in its statement.

CBS News has reached out to the White House for comment.

Iran and Oman discuss Strait of Hormuz, no agreement yet on administration

The talks on Saturday between Iran and Oman have wrapped, but a readout fromIran shows little was decided as the two sides meet over how to manage the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi met in Muscat, the capital of Oman, in the wake of Iran targeting commercial ships in the strait earlier this week. Those strikes garnered significant retribution from the U.S. andPresident Trump calling the memorandum of understanding dead.

Both sides on Saturday expressed a desire to return to the conditions of that memorandum of understanding, but there appeared to be no clarity on U.S. and Iranian disagreements over the wording of Article 5 of the MOU.

"Araqchi and Al-Busaid also exchanged views on appropriate mechanisms for the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with Article 5 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding," the readout said.

The U.S. and Iran have read that article differently, though. The wording of Article 5 states, "the Islamic Republic of Iran will make arrangements using its best efforts for the safe passage of commercial vessels, with no charge for 60 days only, from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman, and vice versa."

Iran believes the wording of the article means ships should only follow its route hugging the Iranian coast, but the U.S. has offered a separate route through the strait along the Omani coast. That discrepancy has caused Iran to target ships on the southern route with missiles and drones.

Iran has also said it believes it should be able to charge a fee for transit of the strait after 60 days, which the U.S. has said it will not allow.

Senate Holding Slew Of Confirmation Hearings For Trump Nominees As Time Runs Short Before August Recess1/27/10/26

The Senate scheduled several confirmation hearings starting Monday to confirm many of President Donald Trump’s nominees before the August recess. (They have held all of them up since Trump got in office in 2025. They think they are the ones that can chose his people!)

The Senate will move to confirm several nominees to serve in key positions, including the next director of national intelligence (DNI) and a new attorney general.Senate Republicans are hopeful they can fill the vacant government positions while time is running out.(Fuckers)

U.S. Attorney for the Southern District ofNew York Jay Clayton, Trump’s pick to be the permanent DNI, is expected to attend his confirmation hearing Wednesday. The Senate initially scheduled Clayton’s hearing for June 17 just days after Trump nominated him to replace former DNI Tulsi Gabbard, though the hearing wassuddenly postponed after Trump called on the Senate to not move forward with the nomination.

Trump said on Truth Social that Clayton’s nominationwould not move forward until Jamie McDonald was approved to be the next attorney for the Southern District of New York. Following Trump’s statement, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Tom Cotton confirmed the postponement of the hearing after initially planning to move forward with it.

”It’s regrettablethat the president has directed Jay Clayton not to appear at his confirmation hearing today,” Cotton said. “Mr. Clayton is a patriot and a highly qualified nominee, as the president has said repeatedly. While today’s hearing is now unfortunately postponed, I look forward to proceeding with his confirmation in the near future.”

The Senate attempted to rush Clayton’s confirmation after Section 702 of the Foreign Relations Intelligence Act (FISA) expired on June 12.Section 702 allows the government to collect and search American citizens’ data without a warrant if they were in contact with targeted noncitizens located outside of the U.S.

Senate Republicans largely praised Clayton in statements to the Daily Caller News Foundation. Democrats appeared to have nothing negative to say about Clayton andinstead criticized acting DNI Bill Pulte, who Trump nominated to temporarily serve in the role.

“I think he’s a really good pick. He’s obviously very capable and competent and [has] a great record. So, my assumption is, and I would certainly hope that Democrats who are being objective about it are going to come to the same conclusion,” Thune told the DCNF on June 11.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said he supported “getting rid of Pulte”when the DCNF asked if he supported Clayton.

The Senate will also hold a hearing Wednesday for acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who Trump nominated to replace former Attorney General Pam Bondi. Blanche became acting attorney general on April 2 after Trump fired Bondi.

Blanche worked at the Department of Justice (DOJ) for 15 years in a variety of roles, including as a contractor, a paralegal in the Criminal Division and at the United States Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York, according to the DOJ. He also served as a defense attorney for Trump in three of his legal cases between 2023 and 2024.

Republican Texas Sen. John Cornyn said he would not commit to supporting Blanche unless he committed to “further briefing” on the tax audit issues involving Trump and his family.

Republican North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis saidin June he would not commit to supporting Blamche if there was any hint that the DOJ would not be independent from Trump’s influence.

Blanche engaged in heated conversations with Senate Republicans over a $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund aimed at compensating victims of government weaponization, which raised concerns that defendants convicted of violent crimes during the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot would receive these funds. Many Senate Republicans staunchly opposed the fund and could have supported a Democrat-led amendment to kill it, which raised the likelihood of Trump vetoing a $69.5 billion reconciliation package that Trump ultimately signed into law on June 10.

The acting attorney general testified to the House of Representatives on June 2 that the DOJ dropped the fund.

Deputy Surgeon General Erica Schwartz is scheduled to appear before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee Wednesday in hopes of being the next leader of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).Trump fired former CDC Director Susan Monarezin September after she refused to resign over her clashes with Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.over vaccination policies.

Monarez’ firing left the CDC without a leader for nearly a year. Trump’s previous CDC nominee, Dr. David Weldon, withdrew his nomination in March 2025 after he was expected not to garner enough votes in the Senate HELP Committee, who raised questions about his past statements questioning vaccine safety.

Acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling is expectedto appear for his confirmation hearing Thursday before the HELP Committee. If confirmed, Sonderling would replace former Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, who resigned on April 20 amid a monthlong internal investigation by the Labor Department’s inspector general into allegations of misconduct, including workplace drinking and an affair with a subordinate.

Trump appointed Sonderling as acting secretary following Chavez-DeRemer’s resignation. Senate Republicans moved quickly to schedule Sonderling’s hearing, indicating they are confident he can secure his confirmation.

On Tuesday, actingPentagon Comptroller nominee Jay Hurst will appear before the Senate Armed ServicesCommittee for his confirmation hearing after Trump nominated him in May to permanently serve in the role.

Hurst would become the administration’sfirst Senate-confirmed Defense Department chief financial officersince Trump’s second term began in January 2025.

Hurst would likely provide the first public testimony on the Iran strikes since they restarted Tuesday, which broke the 60-day ceasefire from mid-June. The committee will likely press Hurst on the Iran war and the overall cost of the conflict.

(Why is the Senate so afraid of Bill Pulte?)

CNN Host Eats Humble Pie After Appearing To Think Parody Post Was Legit

CNN issued an on-air correction Thursday morning after featuring a satirical quote from a parody social media account the day before.

“CNN This Morning” host Audie Cornish admitted to the mistake about 24 hours after her show’s previous episode showed part of a Tuesday X post from Jack Kimble, an account on the platform parodying a U.S. congressman. The quote was shown alongside statements from spokespersons for top Senate Republicans and conservative commentator Scott Jennings.

“Yesterday on the show, we displayed quotes from some Republicans about [Republican Kentucky] Senator Mitch McConnell’s stay in the Hospital,” Cornish said. “One of them was mistakenly taken from a parody account on Twitter.”

“Obviously, we should not have done that, and we regret the error,” she said.

The parody post aired on-screen Wednesday during a segment about 84-year-old McConnell’s current health situation. CNN’s correction came hours after the Daily Caller News Foundation reported on the network’s apparent mistake.

“I spoke to my old friend Mitch McConnell this morning, the senior Senator from Kentucky. He’s still recovering in the hospital. We talked for just shy of 45 minutes,” read Jack Kimble’s parody post featured on the Wednesday morning segment.

“CNN’s Extreme leftwing bias exposed,” Kimble wrote on X later Wednesday morning after the initial segment aired. Kimble states in his X bio thathe is a Republican representing California’s 54th Congressional District, which does not exist.

WATCH: Rep. Jim Jordan Says Senate Republicans Must Nuke the Filibuster Now to Pass SAVE America Act Before Democrats Do It Themselves

Cassandra MacDonald Jul. 11, 2026

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan has delivered a strong message to Senate Republicans, arguing that they need to get tough and eliminate the filibuster to pass the SAVE America Act while they still have the chance.

Jordan warned that Democrats will not hesitate to scrap the filibuster if they regain power, making it essential for Republicans to act decisively now to secure election integrity measures before the 2026 midterms.

Speaking to Fox News’ The Big Weekend Show, Jordan discussed President Trump’s push for the GOP to prioritize the SAVE America Act, akey election integrity bill that would require proof of citizenship for voter registration and implement other safeguards against fraud.

The legislation passed the House buthas stalled in the Senate.

Jordan did not hold back in criticizing colleagues who refuse to consider ending the filibuster.

“It looks like Republican senators who will not vote to ever get rid of the filibuster.I think we know what’s going to happen!” he stated.

Jordan followed up by pointingout the likely outcome if Democrats take control.

“If Democrats ever get control, they’re going to do it,” he said.

He continued, “So it seems like if that’s going to happen or if that might happen, we should probably get to stop it now and put inplace these safeguards to make sure our elections are fair, our elections are honest, our elections are the way they’re supposed to be.”

The SAVE America Act has become a top priority for conservatives, including President Trump, who has repeatedly urged Senate Republicans to pass it.

The bill aims to make it “easy to vote, hard to cheat” by addressing vulnerabilities in voter registration and ballot processes.

With the Senate set to return to session soon, Republicans face a narrowing window to enact the legislation in time for it to impact the 2026 midterms.

The deadline to have it done in time is August 8, less than one month from now.

WATCH: Mike Lee Warns Senate Must Pass SAVE America Act by August 8, or We Won’t Have It for Midterms

by Cassandra MacDonald Jul. 11, 2026

Utah Senator Mike Lee has made a forceful case for the Senate to immediately take up and pass the SAVE America Act when Congress returns to session next week, or else risk it not being in effect for the midterms.

Senator Lee joined Fox News Sunday with host Shannon Bream to urge his colleagues to get to work.

The senator laid out the choice facing lawmakers.

“Which would you rather have the Senate consider when it comes back into session next week? The SAVE America Act, or anything else?” he asked.

The SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship for voter registration and strengthen election safeguards, passed the House earlier but has stalled in the Senate.

Lee made clear that time is running out fast, with Republicans facing an August 8 deadline if they want the bill to take effect before the 2026 elections.

He stressed that passing the measure requires serious commitment from the Senate.

“And the Senate needs to be willing to do the hard work to make sure that that happens,”Lee said.

The Utah senator described the bill’s goal in straightforward term, saying, it makes “it easy to vote, hard to cheat.”

Bream noted that Republicans would need more than 48 votes and that overcoming the filibuster might be necessary.

Lee’s responses signaled changes, includingpotential moves in reconciliation or eliminating the filibuster, should be on the tableif that’s what it takes to get the bill across the finish line.

“There are a couple ways to get there,” Lee said. “One would be nuking the filibuster, which appears unlikely to happen. But the other way is to exhaust the other side – to continue to debate the bill until it passes. This was a common procedure in the Senate for most of its existence; it needs to be used from time to time in situations like this one.”

“If we put it on the floor tomorrow, and we announce that we’re going to debate it until it passes, I’m confident that we can get there.”

It needs to be passed through any means necessary. If it's in reconciliation, fire the parliamentarian. If it's not, nuke the zombie filibuster!
