DST makes it so that the sun is directly overhead at 1:00 p.m. instead of at noon. And if a person lives just east of the time zone line, it is even further off, because then the sun is directly overhead at 2:00 p.m. instead of at noon. How is this a good thing? Noon is at noon when the sun is directly overhead. Make the center of the time zone match up with the sun and leave it there.
