Beware that Dunning-Kruger

Usage of symbols doesn't necessarily besmirch the potential goodness of the individual. Many people have donned such symbols in confusion or out of a desire to 'belong'. Not everyone who uses a cell phone understands all of its ins and outs, nor do they care about such. They care about being part of the group who has cell phones too. Especially when those phones are advertised all over TV.

Punk movement?

Metalhead movement?

Death Metal movement?

Cultural baskets for the ideologically disenfranchised to easily fall into, adopting those sweet symbols of perceived rebellion

I haven't engaged in conversation here for several months, you're mistaken.

My point was that not every book is what one may believe they are from their cover. Expand your knowledge of culture and its effects, and how it is leveraged for effect.

And good luck with that attitude of needing to win discussions, it might get you as far as the corner store.

Dialogue tempered by Empathy is a useful tool to unite the people. The "I'll prove you wrong" behavior was supposed to be left behind in our childhoods, and only serves separation.
