…On August 26, 2025, the Rochester City Attorney’s Office charged Hendrix with three misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, later reduced to two.

Hendrix pleaded not guilty.

A motion to dismiss the charges was denied in May.

Court records show that in 2022, the man filming, Sharmake Beyle Omar, was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct and fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct stemming from an alleged incident involving a minor.

A Romanian F-16 fighter jet has shot down a drone that entered the country’s airspace, President Nicusor Dan has said. The drone incursion has not yet been blamed on any foreign military.

In a post on X, Dan said that the drone was intercepted around 11 am on Friday, and that an investigation has been launched. The Romanian Defense Ministry said that the drone was picked up by radar over the Black Sea earlier on Friday morning, and was tracked as it moved westward towards the port of Sulina.

It was intercepted over an “unpopulated area” around Padina, 90 km northeast of Bucharest, and destroyed with an air-to-air missile, the ministry added.

The incident is the third of its kind in Romania over the last two months. Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada is ready to do “whatever it takes” in response to the “unwarranted” American tariffs.

Carney made the remarks July 23 at a gathering of Canada’s 13 provincial and territorial premiers in Charlottetown, P.E.I., prior to closed-door meetings. He said Canada is united in the face of the 50 percent tariffs set to take effect Aug. 19 on various Canadian exports to the United States.

“On Monday, the U.S. administration announced its intention to impose the latest in a series of unilateral, unwarranted trade actions, and we’re clear: Canadian governments around this table will do whatever it takes to defend and support our families, our workers, and our businesses,” Carney said.

Carney said Canada is in a “stronger position” than 18 months ago, pointing to expanded trade relationships with various countries, reduction of interprovincial trade barriers, and progress on major infrastructure projects. Continue…

B.C.’s premier argued Wednesday for blocking the U.S. from accessing Canada’s critical mineral supply in response to tariffs on his province’s lumber exports and other sectors.

B.C. Premier David Eby said at the first ministers meeting in Charlottetown that it was “inexplicable” for the U.S. to destabilize Canadian export industries, including forestry, while trying to gain greater access to Canada’s mineral wealth.

“We can’t have a country, on one hand, attacking one group of families and workers, while hoping to have access to the resources in Canada that the rest of the world wants,” said Eby. Continue…

New Brunswick police probe possible hate crime after Moncton parking lot altercation

Police say they’re investigating after responding to an “ongoing altercation” in a Moncton parking lot on Saturday night that may have been fuelled by hate.

“On July 18, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of an ongoing altercation in a parking lot at a business on Mountain Rd. in Moncton, involving multiple individuals,” read a Codiac Regional RCMP press release issued on Thursday afternoon.

“Investigators have identified the individuals believed to have been involved and continue to gather information to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. As part of the investigation, police are also working to determine whether hate was a factor in the incident. The RCMP takes all reports of hate-motivated incidents seriously and remains committed to conducting a thorough investigation to establish all the facts. Continue…
