California Bar bent the knee…or got their knees bent. They've been running a separate Bar exam for years, also one of the hardest. The short of it is that it was a way to elbow out jurisdictional control, among MANY other things.
"On July 15, 2026, following the California Supreme Court’s order, the State Bar announced that beginning with the July 2028 bar exam, the State Bar will administer the NextGen Uniform Bar Exam (NextGen UBE), produced by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE).
