We won two cases in the Supreme Court, Haiti and Syria. As to the other TPS designations, several are tied up in lower courts. While we expect to win those cases, many courts are dragging their feet on lifting the injunctions. The judge holding up termination of Somalia TPS, for example, has refused to even consider the issue until August 20. This is more of the same judicial sabotage we have been facing on TPS for a year and a half.

As to the two in the Supreme Court, those rulings do not go into effect for about a month after the opinion was issued. This is standard Supreme Court procedure, which gives time for the parties to seek rehearing (though it is rarely sought). Importantly, while the case itself remains effectively on hold for this one month period, the opinion is still binding on lower courts. Unfortunately, activist judges are ignoring this settled principle.
