We should celebrate our Overton Window Victories
Before Q, the extreme side of the republican party had been labeled the 'alt-right' and mainstream news outlets had delighted not only in defining what 'alt-right' meant but in tarring and feathering every voice they disagreed with with that label.
Today, though, we are essentially the extremist branch of the Trump movement. I know most of us would balk at being called extremist, but if you ponder it from the perspective of a normie, it's the cold truth. It's an interesting position to be in. We've had months to define who we are without the media laying a finger on us. The best they could do was call us Russian bots. In the meantime we've been inserting our ideas into the mainstream at every opportunity, commenting on social media, news sites and calling into talk radio.
Our memes go everywhere. Sure not all of them go viral, but sometimes they catch on. Words like 'cabal' find their way to evening news. "Spygate" becomes a thing. We've been part of that conversation.
Now we're mainstream. Think about what that means. They can't call us Russian bots anymore. If we do a twitterstorm they have to identify us for who we are, maybe even show more of their fear. All the while, we're moving the overton window. More people will start looking again at these 'conspiracies'. More people will ask the important questions. Deliberate ignorance will be the hallmark of our enemies.
