400+ Ukrainian Drones Launched On Moscow In One Of Biggest Attack Waves To Date

The Russian capital has been hit with a massive drone wave from Ukraine, which injured at least ten people - including three Chinese citizens - local authorities say.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has stated that more than 400 UAVs were launched toward Moscow and its suburbs overnight in one of the largest single raids since the war's start.

He described that most of the inbound drones were intercepted far from the capital, and that another 85 were downed as they got closer, but emerging images suggest there were some big strikes that landed.

Russia's RT provided the following details, noting that the biggest impact was felt in the Moscow suburbs:

Two women were injured in Podolsk, while an 11-year-old girl in the Odintsovo district was diagnosed with an acute stress reaction but did not require hospitalization.

The main consequences of the raid were recorded in Podolsk, Domodedovo, and the Odintsovo urban district, Vorobyov said. Falling drones damaged several private homes and civilian infrastructure facilities and sparked multiple fires, he added.

In Odintsovo, a car and a private home were damaged, although no injuries were reported. In Podolsk, fires broke out and several civilian infrastructure sites were damaged, along with a private home in the village of Maloye Tolbino.

Regions bordering Ukraine also came under heavy overnight attack from Ukraine, including Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk. These oblasts have frequently been targeted throughout the years-long war. Nationwide, at least four people were killed and dozens more injured in the large-scale drone assault.

Ukraine's President Zelensky has long touted the effectiveness of the drone war on Russian oil depots and energy facilities, but by all appearances this fresh drone attack targeted civilian areas as well as general manufacturing centers. According to more from Russian media:

The same wave of strikes hit two logistics centers operated by the Russian online retailer Wildberries in Kotovsk, Tambov Region, and Elektrostal, near Moscow. The attacks killed eight people and injured dozens more, according to regional officials.

Wildberries, often called the Russian version of Amazon, is one of the country’s most popular online retailers. Kiev confirmed that it had deliberately targeted the warehouses, claiming they stored components used in drone and navigation equipment.

Kiev has fully embraced this ‘standard Western practice’, Stanislav Krapivnik said

Ukraine has ramped up drone strikes on Russian civilian sites because it cannot penetrate the air defenses protecting key military and industrial facilities, former US Army officer Stanislav Krapivnik told RT. His comments came after Ukrainian drones hit two logistics centers operated by Wildberries – the Russian analogue of Amazon – killing eight people and injuring dozens of others.

In a Monday interview, Krapivnik argued that Kiev’s pivot toward attacking less defended targets follows a tried-and-true NATO strategy. “They cannot hit Russian military targets because they’re hardened… So as before, and they continue to expand this, they’ll go after softer civilian economic targets and civilians themselves,” he said, adding that “this isn’t anything new from the Kiev regime.”

Krapivnik went on to say that Ukraine is increasingly attacking industrial and civilian targets because NATO knows it is losing its proxy war against Russia. “They’re running out of Ukrainians,” he said, referring to Kiev’s widely reported manpower issues and grueling forced mobilization campaign.

“The theory was that every Japanese civilian was a war worker and every Japanese civilian apartment or flat was a mini war factory. This is the same mentality. They’re going after civilian targets because that’s all they can do,” he said.

Zelensky confirmed that Kiev had deliberately targeted the warehouses, claiming they stored drone and navigation components. Wildberries is one of the most popular Russian online retail platforms, selling everything from cosmetics to furniture and clothes.

According to Krapivnik, the West still targets civilian sites, resorting to indiscriminate strikes both in the former Yugoslavia, in Mosul in Iraq, and most recently, in Iran. “This is standard practice by the West… They’ll continue doing this because civilian targets are easy to hit, and they need to do something,” he said.

In response to the deadly strikes on the retailer’s warehouses, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday that it had hit drone and missile production and storage sites in Kiev, along with port infrastructure used to receive military cargo in Odessa Region. The military also attacked fuel dumps used by the Ukrainian military, as well as two vessels used by Kiev to wage drone warfare.

Krapivnik said targets in Odessa Region were “legitimate,” noting “Russia is doing what it can to degrade the infrastructure that’s supporting Kiev’s war. Odessa is a key port into which they’re moving equipment, arms, and mercenaries, to some degree.”

Thousands of protestors gathered outside Japan’s parliament in Tokyo on Sunday to oppose Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s plans to revise the country’s pacifist constitution and expand its military capabilities.

The 25,000 who reportedly attended called for Takaichi’s resignation and decried her plan to increase defense spending, relax restrictions on exporting weapons, and enact legislation they say could weaken civil liberties.

The rally followed similar earlier protests in the Japanese capital, reportedly attended by 50,000 people in May, 26,000 on June 19, and 27,000 on July 10, according to organizers.

The demonstrations have centered on Takaichi’s proposed amendment to Article 9, which renounces war and the use of force to settle international disputes. The ruling Liberal Democratic Party wants to add a clause explicitly recognizing the Self-Defense Forces and allowing measures deemed necessary to counter national security threats, which Takaichi claims are coming from China and North Korea.

Israel spent over $45 million on AI propaganda campaign targeting US

The country has launched a project which generates millions of texts promoting the country’s objectives

Israel is spending tens of millions of dollars on an AI-powered media campaign aimed at improving its image and influencing public opinion in the US, the Wall Street Journal has reported.

The country’s standing among Americans has deteriorated in recent years. Some 60% of US adults held an unfavorable view of Israel in March, up from 53% last year and 42% in 2022, according to Pew Research Center.

According to an investigation published by the WSJ on Saturday, millions of AI-generated messages have been sent to Americans in recent months from senders using names such as Emma, Sarah, and John.

The messages claim to come from a group called Friends for Peace and ask recipients questions such as “How do you think the US and Israel’s peace talks with Iran will impact global security?” The newspaper said it could find no nonprofit or company registered under that name.

The texts reportedly form part of a broader contract worth more than $45 million which was awarded to an operation led by Brad Parscale, a former campaign manager for US President Donald Trump. Sparkfire, the company operating the text campaign, had received $6.5 million by mid-May.

Parscale’s team has also created pro-Israel websites and online posts designed to generate more favorable answers about the country from AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude.

Last year, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said West Jerusalem had allocated more than $700 million in its 2026 budget to improve Israel’s image worldwide and “shape consciousness.”

At least six companies have been retained for the work in the US, while around three dozen people have registered as foreign agents on Israel’s behalf, according to the newspaper.

The US campaign also reportedly includes over $500,000 in advertising through conservative broadcaster Salem Media, where Parscale serves as chief strategy officer. Salem denied paying its hosts to promote particular positions.

In an interview released Wednesday with podcaster Joe Rogan, US Vice President J.D. Vance accused some members of the Israeli government of attempting to manipulate American public opinion to keep the Iran conflict going “indefinitely.”

The Israeli Foreign Ministry did not respond to the WSJ’s requests for comment.

CCP Intel-Associated Official Converted Taxpayer-Funded Facility By US Military Bases Into Massive Illegal Weed Grow

A Chinese Communist Party (CCP) intelligence official is the head of a U.S. taxpayer-funded facility in the Mojave Desert where authorities dismantled a massive illegal marijuana operation, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation discovered.

Police seized over 15,000 marijuana plants and arrested 14 people — including eight Chinese nationals — while conducting a July 2022 raid on a 75-acre Barstow, California facility owned by China-based quartz slab manufacturer American Quartz Inc. (AQ), which secured a multimillion-dollar Sunshine State grant earlier that year with support from Treasurer Fiona Ma and remains operational, according to the criminal complaint and state records.

Barstow’s former mayor Paul Anthony Courtney and a dozen other individuals were charged with felony counts of illegal marijuana cultivation and tax evasion in July 2025 related to the illicit operation, which allegedly may also have involved “violence,” “cruelty,” and witness intimidation, according to the criminal complaint. The charges against Courtney, who served as Barstow mayor until 2024, were ultimately dismissed in March 2026, when he agreed to plead no contest to a newly added “Fighting, Noise, Offensive Words” infraction, court records show.

Bench warrants have been issued for the arrests of the eight Chinese defendants, who have not appeared in court, and the other defendants pleaded not guilty in their ongoing cases.

While it is unclear if any of the defendants ever worked for AQ, Chinese government documents translated by the DCNF reveal that the company’s CEO, “Tommy” Hu Qiaomin — who was not charged — has extensive CCP state security ties and has held numerous positions within arms of one of the communist nation’s influence and intelligence agencies, including current membership in several such entities.

AQ, Hu, Ma and Courtney did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Hu’s ties to the CCP raise serious national security concerns in light of AQ reportedly continuing to operate as a “landlord” for cannabis cultivators post-raid, the Chinese company’s efforts to influence U.S. lawmakers and AQ’s proximity to sensitive U.S. government sites, including Edwards Air Force Base to the west, Fort Irwin to the north and Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow approximately 6 miles east.

“AQ operated as more than a commercial landlord; it gave a CCP-linked actor facility control inside a sensitive logistics corridor,” Ammon Blair, senior fellow at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, told the DCNF. “The facility matters as much, if not more, than the marijuana.”

“AQ sits near the Barstow International Gateway (BIG), which links the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, the Alameda Corridor, BNSF Railway, warehousing, transloading, and national freight movement,” said Blair, who is a former Border Patrol agent and Army veteran. “It also sits near Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, which supports military logistics and operational readiness. That geography gives a hostile or criminal network practical value through staging, warehousing, workforce placement, cash movement, surveillance, local influence and commercial cover.

Hu has held Chinese military, government and intel arm positions in both the U.S. and China, according to DCNF translations of Chinese government reports.

Born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang in 1955, Hu served in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) until 1980, when he began working for the state-run Wenzhou Foreign Trade Company, according to DCNF translations of Chinese government and state media reports. After building a shoe manufacturing company in Africa in the 1990s, Hu expanded his business to the U.S. in 2003.

Lammy accused of cover-up as Ministry fights to keep migrant crime data secret

The department, led by Justice Secretary David Lammy, is appealing a ruling by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) that ordered it to reconsider a Freedom of Information request seeking conviction data by offenders’ nationality between 2018 and 2024.

The request, submitted by the Centre for Migration Control, asked for the total number of convictions by nationality, broken down by specific offences, including crimes such as rape, murder and child sexual abuse, rather than broader offence categories.

The Ministry of Justice initially refused the request, arguing that producing the information would exceed the cost limits set under the Freedom of Information Act and that releasing highly detailed figures could risk identifying individual offenders in some cases.

The Information Commissioner rejected both arguments.

In its decision, the watchdog said the department had failed to provide sufficient evidence that compiling the data would exceed the statutory cost threshold.

The Commissioner acknowledges that the request is wide in scope and involves the manipulation of a complex dataset,” the ruling stated.

“However, complexity alone does not obviate the requirement to provide a properly evidenced estimate.”

The ICO also concluded that any potential privacy concerns could be mitigated by suppressing very small data sets—for example, where fewer than five convictions exist for a particular offence and nationality—rather than withholding the information entirely.

The Ministry of Justice has now appealed the decision to the First-tier Tribunal (General Regulatory Chamber), which hears challenges against rulings made by independent regulators.

The appeal has prompted criticism from opposition politicians and campaign groups, who argue the Government is resisting legitimate public scrutiny.

Conservative MP Robert Jenrick described the move as a continuation of a long-running lack of transparency by successive governments, while Centre for Migration Control research director Rob Bates said his organisation would continue pursuing the information through legal channels.

Bates argued that detailed conviction statistics were “clearly in the public interest” and questioned why ministers were challenging the watchdog’s ruling.

Shadow Justice Secretary Nick Timothy also criticised the appeal, arguing that greater detail on offence categories would improve public understanding of foreign national offending.

Israeli tech leaders in New York City announced on Monday the formation of a new hub, as the country’s tech scene continues to grow, despite growing political hostility to Israel in the city from Mayor Zohran Mamdani and other elected officials.

The new center, called “Hakibbutz NYC,” is located in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood and will serve as the first “permanent home” for Israeli startups, organizers said in a statement.

The facility will host events including investor gatherings, roundtable discussions, professional networking events and meetings between Israeli tech staff and US corporations, the statement said.

The project is a collaboration between Hakibbutz, an Israeli workspace hub, and Israeli Mapped in NY, a platform that tracks and connects Israeli startups in the city.

Guy Franklin, the head of Israeli Mapped in NY, said the space on 26th Street will span 18,000 square feet, with plans to expand further.

Private sources are funding the project and there is no government involvement from Israel, the US or New York, Franklin said.

“Our goal is that no Israeli company arriving in New York should have to start from scratch. Instead, they should be able to immediately connect with a network of founders, investors, customers, and business partners,” he said.

One of the first companies to operate from the space is the Israeli cybersecurity firm Zafran Security, organizers said.

New York is a major destination for Israeli startups. The domestic Israeli market is small, and companies that wish to expand must look abroad for customers, business partners, investors and employees.

The US is the largest accessible market for many products, and New York is closer to Israel in distance and time zone than US tech hubs in California. The city is also home to large Jewish and Israeli communities.

Florida is another growing destination for Israeli companies, according to a report last year by the United States-Israel Business Alliance.
