## Act II: The Health Inspection of Doom
The morning air in Coyoacán is heavy with the smell of scorched lard. The First Ecumenical Greek Church of the Corn Dog is under siege.
At the edge of the courtyard, a massive shadow falls over the deep fryers. Diego Rivera has arrived. He is not here to paint; he is here to compete.
Diego has set up a rival stand directly across the cobblestone street. His banner reads: The Marxist-Leninist Co-Op of the Revolutionary Tamale. He stands behind a steaming vat, his massive frame wrapped in an apron stained with mole sauce and spite.
"Step right up, genuine workers of Mexico!" Diego bellows, his voice rattling the church rafters. "Do not be fooled by the decadent, Eurocentric, deep-fried sticks of the exiled revisionist! My tamales are wrapped in the authentic corn husks of indigenous liberation! The corn dog is a tool of Wall Street imperialism!"
Inside the church, the High Priest clutches his sacred tongs in terror. "He is driving away the lunch rush!" the Priest gasps. "The feta is sweating!"
Leon Trotsky does not care about the lunch rush. He remains in the backyard pasture, his arms wrapped around the neck of Comrade Esmeralda. They are sharing a single, cold Greek corn dog, Lady-and-the-Tramp style.
"Ignore him, my sweet hoofed vanguard," Leon whispers into her furry ear. "Rivera’s tamales suffer from extreme bureaucratic centralization. They lack the spontaneous, decentralized crunch of our love."
Esmeralda lets out a loud, tragic bray. It sounds like the collapse of the provisional government.
## Enter the Inspector
The romantic moment is shattered by the sound of heavy, unyielding boots.
A man in a trench coat walks into the church courtyard. His mustache is thick, square, and looks suspiciously like a wire brush. He carries a clipboard and a magnifying glass. He introduces himself as Comrade Ramon, a "completely neutral and local Mexican health inspector."
He speaks with a glaringly obvious Georgian accent.
"Greetings, fellow proletarians," Ramon says, his eyes narrowing as he scans the kitchen. "I am here to conduct a routine audit of your sanitary conditions. I hear rumors of counter-revolutionary bacteria in your tzatziki."
Frida Kahlo, still hidden in the pink bougainvillea, narrows her eyes. She sees through the trench coat immediately. She notices the ice pick poorly concealed in his clipboard sleeve.
"A health inspector?" Frida whispers, her paintbrush freezing mid-stroke. "With boots that clean? In Mexico? Ha! He is a Soviet agent. And a terrible actor."
She immediately begins painting him into the corner of her canvas, depicting him as a giant, weeping potato wearing a bureaucrat's tie.
## The Sanitation Trial
Comrade Ramon approaches the grand altar of the Corn Dog. He dips a finger into the sacred batter and sniffs it with deep, ideological suspicion.
"This batter lacks the correct distribution of grain," Ramon declares, making a aggressive mark on his clipboard. "It is an anarcho-syndicalist batter. It deviates from the five-year plan for sausage encapsulation. Where is the leader of this deviation? Where is the old man with the goat beard?"
Diego Rivera leans over his tamale vat, pointing a massive, mole-covered finger toward the pasture. "He is back there, Comrade Inspector! Committing revisionist acts with a beast of burden! Arrest him for crimes against gastronomic solidarity!"
Ramon sneaks toward the pasture, drawing the ceremonial ice pick from his clipboard.
"Leon!" Frida yells from the bushes, throwing a jar of turquoise paint at the assassin. The jar misses Ramon but hits Diego’s tamale stand, turning his entire batch of salsa a vibrant shade of Aztec blue.
"My art!" Diego screams. "My lunch special!"
## The Charge of the Light Brigade
Trotsky turns just in time to see the "health inspector" lunging at him with the ice pick.
"Aha!" Trotsky shouts, stepping backward. "The long arm of the bureaucracy reaches even into the sanctuary of the deep fryer!"
But Trotsky does not need to fight. Comrade Esmeralda senses the threat to her intellectual partner. With the fierce, unyielding determination of a true peasant uprising, she turns and delivers a massive, double-hoofed kick directly to Comrade Ramon’s chest.
CRACK.
The assassin is launched backward, sailing clean over the church wall and landing face-first into Diego Rivera’s vat of blue tamales.
Silence falls over Coyoacán, save for the gentle bubbling of the deep fryer.
Trotsky adjusts his glasses, deeply moved. He falls to his knees before the donkey. "Esmeralda… you have achieved the permanent revolution. You have smashed the state."
Esmeralda steps forward and calmly eats the clipboard.
Frida steps out of the bushes, admiring her finished canvas. "Magnificent," she says, looking at the painting of Trotsky, the donkey, and the blue tamale explosion. "Diego, close your shop. The corn dog has won."
