Ukraine’s “reckless action” would not go unanswered, the Iranian deputy parliament speaker said on Sunday.

 

Ali Nikzad’s comments followed Iran’s summoning of Ukraine's chargé d'affaires in Tehran after accusing Kyiv of attacking an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea.

 

“Iran will always exercise its legal right to defend its territorial integrity. Any location used as a launching point for aggression against our country and territory will undoubtedly be considered a legitimate target for our armed forces, and the Ukrainian government’s reckless action will not go unanswered,” the lawmaker said.

He also warned Ukraine, Britain and Bulgaria against supporting US military actions, saying any location used to launch attacks on Iran would be considered a legitimate target.

 

He added that rules governing the Strait of Hormuz would not return to their pre-war form and called on US forces to leave the region.

 

(14)TankerTrackers identifies vessels targeted in US blockade actions near Persian Gulf

Maritime tracking service TankerTrackers.com identified two oil tankers involved in recent US naval blockade operations, noting that one vessel belongs to a sanctioned Iranian network and another operates under a different name.

 

TankerTrackers said the Comoros-flagged MT Charminar, which US Central Command boarded in the Arabian Sea, was placed under US sanctions in July 2025 for transporting Iranian fuel to Houthi forces in Yemen as part of the Shamkhani network.

 

The tracking firm also said the ship CENTCOM identified as the Mozambique-flagged MT Lavine is actually the tanker Disha. US forces disabled the vessel near the Persian Gulf on July 24 after its crew repeatedly attempted to breach the US naval blockade.

CENTCOM previously reported that US forces have redirected 12 commercial ships attempting to run the blockade, disabled two non-compliant vessels, and boarded two others.

He was responding to a question about Khamenei’s absence from the funeral ceremony for his father, former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

 

Asked about reports concerning Mojtaba Khamenei’s alleged economic activities before becoming the supreme leader, Haddad-Adel dismissed them as false and said he had been a cleric whose only income was the standard stipend paid to seminary students.

A Soyuz capsule carrying two Russian cosmonauts and a NASA astronaut has touched down safely in the Kazakh steppe

A Russian-US space crew returned safely to Earth on Sunday after spending more than eight months aboard the International Space Station(ISS).

 

Russian cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergey Mikaev andNASA astronaut Christopher Williams landed in Kazakhstanaboard the Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft, which touched down under parachutes southeast of the town of Zhezkazgan.

 

The crew undocked from the ISS earlier in the day after transferring to the Soyuz spacecraft for the return journey.

 

“This morning, the spacecraft undocked from the Rassvet module. Its deorbiting and descent to Earth proceeded normally!”Russia’s Rosatom State Corporation said in a statement.

 

Following routine post-landing medical checks,recovery teams will fly the crew by helicopter to Karaganda, Kazakhstan, NASA said.

 

Kud-Sverchkov, Mikaev, and Williams had been aboard the ISS since November. Their 241-day mission wasthe first spaceflight for Williams and Mikaev, and the second for Kud-Sverchkov.

 

After landing, the crew was greeted with traditional Russian nesting dollsbearing hand-painted likenesses of each astronaut and cosmonaut, a longstanding post-mission tradition.

 

Ahead of the crew’s departure, their ISS crewmate Jessica Meir shared farewell photos of the team on X, calling it “A bittersweet day on the Space Station.”

 

Seven crew members remain on the ISS. Sunday’s departure of the Soyuz MS-28 trio officially begins the station’s Expedition 75 mission.

 

The ISS is expected to remain in operation until the end of the decadeafter Roscosmos and NASA agreed to extend its service through 2030 and jointly wind down the program. The gradual decommissioning process is scheduled to begin in 2028, with the station set to be deorbited anddeliberately sunk in the ocean by the end of 2030. Russia plans to replace the ISS with its own Russian Orbital Station (ROS).
